Yotaka is a chunin-ranked ninja from Hoshigakure. He and Shisou worked under Akahoshi. They both assisted Akahoshi in the assassination of the Third Hoshikage.
When the Leaf Ninja were summoned to Hoshigakure to protect the meteor, Rock Lee and Tenten were suspicious of them and did a stakeout until discovered. They claimed they were loyal to Akahoshi. After Akahoshi kidnapped Sumaru, he later sent him and Yotaka to fetch the Leaf Ninja to help Akahoshi fight the Natsuhi.
He, Akahoshi, and Shisou later found where the meteor is hidden and ran afoul of Naruto Uzumaki and Natsuhi. Akahoshi later absorbed the chakra of Shisou and Yotaka.

After Akahoshi was defeated, Tsunade mentioned that he, Akahoshi, and Shisou will be subjected to harsh punishment.
