The Yata Mirror was an ethereal shield wielded by the left arm of Itachi's Susanoo. It is said to be endowed with all nature transformations and able to change its characteristics to any nature transformation to completely negate any attack, whether it be spiritual, or physical.

Black Zetsu claimed that this, combined with the Sword of Totsuka held in its right hand, potentially made Itachi's Susanoo nearly invincible.[2]

Influence

The Yata no Kagami (八咫鏡, literally meaning: Eight Span Mirror) is one of the Three Imperial Regalia of Japan (三種の神器, Sanshu no Jingi), together with the Kusanagi no Tsurugi (草薙劍, literally meaning: Grass Cutter Sword) and the Yasakani no Magatama (八尺瓊曲玉, literally meaning: Eight Shaku Curved Jewel).
