The Yang Release (陽遁, Yōton, Viz: Light Style) techniques, based on the physical energy that governs vitality, can be used to breathe life into form. When combined with Yin Release, it allows the use of Yin–Yang Release.[1] It is depicted as white in the manga and blue in the anime. The Six Paths' Yang power (六道の陽の力, Rikudō no Yō no Chikara) is symbolised through a sun, depicted on the wielder's right palm.
The Yang nature was mentioned for the first time by Yamato during Naruto's Rasenshuriken training, along with the Yin nature, hinting that the Akimichi's techniques are somehow connected to it. Yang can also be found in the name of two barrier techniques, Four Red Yang Formation and Six Red Yang Formation.
