Yugao Uzuki (卯月夕顔, Uzuki Yūgao) is a member of the Konoha ANBU and Hayate Gekko's lover. "Uzuki" is the old name for "April" on the Japanese lunar calendar, while "Yugao" means "moonflower". Although she has never been seen in battle (outside of video games) she carries a sword on her back, suggesting that she is a sword fighter; it is possible she even knows Hayate's Dance of the Crescent Moon. After Hayate is killed by Baki, Yugao swears to avenge him, though it is unknown if she actually knows who killed him. She was a member of the ANBU squad of Kakashi when he was a member, along with Tenzo.
Role in Naruto Video Games
Yugao was added as a playable character in the english-language exclusive Nintendo Wii game Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2. In the game, she possesses techniques similar to Hayate's. While it is unclear if she uncovered the identity of Hayate's killer, her battle cry when using Dance of the Crescent Moon when fighting Baki in the game changes to "Revenge...for Hayate!". She has a small role in the game's story appearing in the antagonists' hideout to save Naruto, Kakashi, Gaara and Sakura from a group of missing-nin, stating that the ANBU would take care of the situation. She also has a team special with Kakashi probably due to the fact that they were both on the Anbu at the same time. Yugao also appears as a playable character in Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 3 for the Nintendo Wii.
