Madara first used this ability to coat the original White Zetsu with it, resulting in the creation of Black Zetsu, a weaker version of Madara himself. This ability can be channelled through objects as well. The user is not only able to remotely manipulate the actions of his targets, but also telekinetically manipulate objects imbued with his will.[1]
