Re: Request

Het is altijd leuk om andere Nederlandstaligen te ontmoeten hier ^^ Al kunnen we elkaar soms niet uitstaan, zijn Nederland en België nog altijd zusterlanden.

Any way, Mikazuki Munechika (三日月宗近; Literally meaning "Crescent Moon near the Centre") is the name of a famous Japanese sword created by the famous Heian-period swordsmith Sanjō Munechika (三条宗近). Do a Google image search for "三日月宗近" and you'll see how ridiculously beautiful and immaculate this ancient sword still looks. It's considered to be one of the (天下五剣, Tenka Goken), a group of five famous swords that gained their fame during the Muromachi period. This group also includes:

  • the Dōjigiri (童子切; Literally meaning "Boy Cutter") by Yasutsuna (安綱);
  • the Onimaru (鬼丸; Literally meaning "Demon Circle") by Awataguchi Kunitsuna (粟田口国綱);
  • the Ōtenta (大典太; Literally meaning "Great Law Plump") by Mitsuyo (光世);
  • and the Juzumaru (数珠丸; Literally meaning "Rosary Circle") by Aoe Tsunetsugu (青江恒次).

Also, I only now noticed, but you totally stole the name of the main character from the novel I'm writing right now ^^ I love the name 'Kai'. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 00:20, December 31, 2011 (UTC)
It's an actual novel that I hope might one day be published, although I'm not writing it specifically for that purpose. It's in English, as I feel that language fits fantasy better. And yes, Kai is a very awesome name. If I ever have a son, I'd name him Kai. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 18:16, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
