Re:

The purpose of redirects is so that the full article title does not need to be used whenever it is linked to. [[Naruto]] and [[Naruto Uzumaki|Naruto]] go to the exact same place. ~SnapperTo 06:47, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not seeing that. Is there something in your settings causing it? ~SnapperTo 06:55, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Databook 4

It should come out this year, though I have no idea when. I think it'll come out in the summer. I mean, in Japan's northern hemisphere summer. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 16:43, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Oil

I'm answering this here so it's less common knowledge. I thought of a different kind of oil. Petroleum like. Here's an Easter egg: take a more coded look at the page. Fire + Earth is already done. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:32, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not saying that oil is fire and earth, I agree that oil fits that three way combination. About the egg, take a peek at how the code of the page is, like when you edit a page. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:09, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I already have some three element combinations down and added to the table, but with a code to uncomment them, making them hidden. All the fire + earth + something else combinations are already done. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:13, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I want to have about 50% or 60% of the possible combinations before I make them public. That's about 20 natures out of the possible 35. Oil as fire + earth + water, it's liquid, it's mineral, it's flammable. About alcohol as fire + water + ying, it's liquid, it "burns", and it's how I managed to put the shape/form thing down. It's not quite water, but it is water-like. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:25, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I have about 16 or 17 natures at the moment, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think tide would work, it's too similar to wave, which I already use at the two element combination. I won't move things from that table to this if I can avoid it. I really hope I can think something else to replace shore, it's not a very good idea. It's something that is related to three components, but it's just something where they all meet, it doesn't have characteristics from all of them. The ones I'm having most difficulty with are the ones with lightning. I just have three natures which include lightning. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:41, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I see Yin as something that allows to change something into something else, but still related. Making it more complex, so to speak. Something that adds pressure and vibration. I've been suggested sound, but I already use that for Yin Wind in combinations of two. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:54, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
I always thought of spacetime techniques as Yin-Yang techniques. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:19, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
I think someone mentioned implosion before, but with that logic, I think it just might work. It makes sense. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:22, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
If you don't consider shore, I don't have water and wind plus earth, water and wind plus yin and water and wind plus yang. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:29, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
Rust is definitely an idea, water and wind being responsible for the "decay" of the mineral, I just think it might be a bit of a stretch since metal has to be done from earth, the decay isn't happening to the earth directly. Is there something that can be interpreted as decayed earth? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:52, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
I know oxidation happens to everything, that why people get old. What I mean, is that for rust to happen, it needs to happen to metal, and in this case, I don't think just earth would do. Rust happens to metal, not to earth. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:16, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Rust with the decay stipulation I can live with, just corrosion doesn't evoke earth/wind/water to me. Graphite, chalk and calcium don't either. Google translate just gives me mud for silt. Crust evokes more earth than the other two to me. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:00, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about taking so long to reply, there were many edits since yesterday, it took a while catching up. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:40, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I have. Sediment still evokes more earth than the other two for me. And I already said that Rust with the decay speculation a la Storm Release is something I can work with. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:45, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Totally missed it. True, there are currents for those three. I already have Sky for wind/water/lightning. What would dry ice be, wind/water/yin? It feels too close to ice. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:03, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

I still think there's something that would fit yin/water/wind more. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:45, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Breakthrough

I think I may have hit a huge breakthrough. I though a somewhat viable possibility for one of the most head-scratching triple combinations so far, that being fire, wind, and lightning: Aurora. The connection with fire is a bit shaky once you look at it too scientifically, but it's the only thing I got, so I'll see how I can work it. I'm already seeing with ShounenSuki how it could be called, because there's no term that directly translates into aurora, and the one term I know that can describe it might result in a Release name which overlaps with one of my old regular two-element theories. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:19, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

I haven't thought much about the effects yet. I was more worried about finding something that made sense first, and then there's the name issue. I'll probably use what ShounenSuki suggested as something aurora-like. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:06, March 17, 2011 (UTC)
I won't use poison because there are techniques which use poison already, such as Poison Mist. I'm not very fond of a glass nature mostly because there is no word, to my knowledge, that means glass. Also because it's a bit too similar to Crystal Release in my mind. What you're suggesting to me for earth/water/lightning sounds like plastic explosives. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:30, March 19, 2011 (UTC)
Glaze still feels a bit too close to glass, which I actually managed to find a couple uncommon words to describe it. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:35, March 20, 2011 (UTC)
I did some research today on a couple missing water combinations, but I found nothing very promising. For water/wind/either yin or yang, I stumbled upon "waterspout", but that's too close for water, and doesn't really feel like a combination when you look at the other wind/water/third option combinations. One that seemed a bit more interesting if you consider a more cultural look is what I found for fire/water/yang: springs, as in hot-springs. I don't like it much because it has the same "not really a combination" vibe, but it ties in with the healing/spa thing. I still want to find something more fitting though. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:44, March 20, 2011 (UTC)

Re: So...

Just one so-so idea since dawn. Mirror for earth/lightning/water. The most recent ones are the ones with no icons. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:54, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

I already have Dark in the two element combination table, if I moved stuff around, I would have moved Crystal long ago to some three element combination that would fit it as well. My idea for fire/lightning/yin does have to do with some sort of plasma or dark energy, but everything I find, for example, dark matter itself, they don't have native names in Japanese. The wind/water/yin seems similar to the Wave Release idea in the two element combinations as well. Also a reason why I didn't use Current Release, still looking for something better fitting. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:48, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Another idea.

Kinda like Arclight's power in the third X-Men movie? I can work with that. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:32, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

The mainstream character's abilities are here, but I don't mean it as seismic energy, just the overall look. On looks, I'd say they're closer to how it was shown in the third film. Did you watch it? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:55, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
In the movie, she was this Morlock who had this shockwave ability, Magneto told her to target plastic weapons. Here's the article on the movie continuity character. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:03, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
I'm still looking for a viable kanji for pulse. So far, all the ones I could verify meaning were about heart beat, and searching beat, about beating people up. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:11, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Idea #2

The idea of something scalding for me would be like a liquid version of Scorch Release. Very hot, but liquid instead of gas. I would also call it "frostbite". I find it a bit too close to Ice Release. For combos with Yin and Yang, I'm trying to see what I can mesh with the traits ShounenSuki left in the big table in my subpage's talk page. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:47, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

I like the idea of a gel, though not necessarily with that name, since there's no direct translation for it in Japanese. My one concern is that it's similar to Water Release: Syrup Capture Field, which is already viscous and thick. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:25, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

I took up the scald idea, but under a different combination from what you suggested. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:30, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Idea

There are some different ways to look at that. To change how much something weights, you either need to change the total mass, the density or the gravity. Gravity is ruled out by Deva Path abilities, and I think mass and density are ruled out by Earth Release: Aggravated Rock Technique. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:50, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

If it's about weight, I think mass or density would be more appropriate. Weight is the perceived mass in a specific gravity. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:27, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

On the scientific side, it's a very good idea. Symbolically, I'm not confident it relates enough to Water Release. Along with Fire/Wind/Lightning, I always knew this would be one of the hardest non-Yin-Yang combinations. It's kinda like the will-o-the-wisp idea ShounenSuki suggested. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:19, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Re: A couple of ideas.

I already have something in the earth and wind combination, you just need to take a raw look at it to see. I'm mulling the other ideas over. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:55, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Sprite Release

Sprite is something I bumped into a long time I ago. Before triple combinations came along, I tried making sprite into Lightning + Yang, but there's no native Japanese term for it. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:09, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Ether is a possible candidate. I was lucky enough to find a term which can mean ether (天空, tenkū). There was one other kanji which meant ether specifically, but as far as I could see, it's not used in the Japanese language. I just need to find a proper way to connect fire, water and lightning in it. I know you suggested lightning turns water into fuel which feeds fire, but I want see if there are other ways of doing it. Ether has this "holy" feel to it, so I want to see which way I'll put forward. All three components have some connection with holiness in some religion or mythology, so I think there's an angle I can work there. I can either pull from your suggestion and make ether some sort of holy fire/energy, or I can pull from the actual name and try making it something air related. Gah, I never had to potentially take so many liberties. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:55, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Wax

I can see it working, the one thing I have against it is that in a canon higher than any of my ideas, we've seen wax being used already. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:22, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

I don't watch nor read One Piece, so I have no idea who does what there. I mean the Kamizuru Clan. Their bee-techniques involved bee honey and wax. Hinata was bound with wax at some point in that arc as well. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:31, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
Still some sort of wax. There are animal waxes, vegetable waxes and mineral waxes, not counting the synthetic waxes. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:44, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
Likewise a logic idea if the right kanji is found. My sources are conflicting. Another reason why I'm not listing wax or plastic is because I already have something for that combination. If I start listing more than one possible result per combination, I'll go crazy. I once considered listing rubber for this combination, and look what happened to rubber. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:52, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
Sasori made a heavy-metal based poison, it wasn't actually heavy-metal. It probably had only traces of it. I can see Mercury Release being used to poison, but that being more of one of its aspects rather than a defining trait. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:29, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

I think that Sky Release is the least well-defined combination at that table. I don't have much of an idea on what it does, but more on how it is. I see it basically as an energy which embodies characteristics from the three components and the sky itself. Fast, bright, powerful, fluid, floating, whatever can be associated with how the sky is and looks like. The closest thing to it in Naruto in terms of looks would be Storm Release, but not with the streams and certainly not guided. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:52, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

Disorder/Malfunction Release?

Yo I realized we didn't complete the discussion for your idea. I'm still not sure how I would phrase malfunction in one kanji yet. I was thinking something like disorder, but I'm not sure if it would convey the right message right at the first moment you hear it. From what you said, I'm thinking you're saying it's something like completely disabling systems, and hence screwing up and nullifying nearly anything? Or is this idea scrapped? --GoDai (talk) 11:58, November 13, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Organizational Teams

While I like the idea of organising a group of people to go through pages, the only thing I that keeps coming to mind is a "to do list" template for us to check what has to be done when there's a new chapter/episode, kinda like this, but that is more useful to seeing what new stuff needs to be listed than to see what old stuff needs checking. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:02, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Where are you now?

I always knew that combinations involving Yang would be hardest for me, I have an easier time thinking things that are associated with the concept of things, which ties in to the form aspect of Yin Release. At the moment I'm trying to see if there's something in the table ShounenSuki gave me showing traits associated with Yin and Yang that goes with those other combinations. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 12:37, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

On Weld Release, I'm just waiting to see if the proper term for the Release would be Setsuton or Setton, and feedback on the three possible ways of trying the nature's name, which contains that same kanji used in Lava Release, and I discovered there's a third variant of that kanji, this time using the metal radical. If what you're asking is the idea, earth manipulates the substance, lightning powers the process and yin gives the shaping property. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:57, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Disruption Release name pt.2

What I'm looking for is not something that has this idea in English. In English, the name of what I want is Disruption Release, the thing is, when I look up for terms of that in Japanese, I get numerous different words. Finding the right one is the key. I'll probably ask ShounenSuki or Seelentau. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:08, March 25, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Ultimate Ninja 2 Jutsu.

Yes. I have long found a couple sites which also give the names of those techniques/combos/ultimates, but they only give the names (in Japanese to boot) with no description, I simply added the Japanese when someone added an article with the English name and made the translation as best as I could. Just be sure to check with in the other Ultimate Ninja game articles for techniques as well. From what I could see, there's a lot of overlapping techniques, and some of them may simply be there, but with different names/debuts. Strangely, I was never able to find such a list for the first Ultimate Ninja game. Does your guide show the commands? That would make it much easier to discover which technique is which. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:06, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Any chance you have any of his other Naruto game guides? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:15, March 31, 2012 (UTC)
Great. If it turns out loads of those techniques debuted in Ultimate Ninja, we'll simply change their debut. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:25, March 31, 2012 (UTC)
Do these guides have descriptions? For example, one of Kurenai's techniques from UN3 (which might be from UN2 if she's playable in it) is Crimson Leaf Dream. I didn't create this article, but I would have if I had the description of the technique when I learned its name. I could probably have found it, but I'm too lazy to look up all of the moveset videos in Youtube to find those. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:04, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
Sure. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:37, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Just Curious

I'm still taking suggestions, yes, but it's unlikely that I'll work on them in the foreseeable future. Translation-wise, I can ask Seelentau, but ShounenSuki is no longer around to make me pretty svg icons. The most I can do is finish the two semi-finished ideas I had before he left, Welding and Disruption/Malfunction. All the questions I had about those are in one of ShounenSuki's talkpage archives. Then, it's just a matter of adding the entries, and putting the kanji instead of the icon in the grid, like I used to before ShounenSuki started making me icons.
