RE: Number redirects

Okay, but you're still missing my point. We need quick redirects/disambigs to the relevant pages; going through the list of volumes page is too cumbersome. — Alchez (talk) 08:53, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

It's not usually normal for me to have to do this, but your signature currently violates the signature policy regarding usernames, because it's just displays UltiSup which is not your username. ;) --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 21:21, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Copied Scripts

I would love to, but to be completely honest, I haven't the slightest idea how to effectively do that. If you could help me in that matter, I'd greatly appreciate it. ~ Ten Tailed Fox Yamagakure Symbol 05:16, July 18, 2013 (UTC)

Done. Also, I was wondering if you are any good with templates. Like the translation template by chance? We're having problems with ours on two of my wikis and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to fix it. ~ Ten Tailed Fox Yamagakure Symbol 20:13, July 18, 2013 (UTC)
I'll link you to my Bleach wiki, were we're having the most trouble. Its here and produces this result. And I can't figure out why its doing that. ~ Ten Tailed Fox Yamagakure Symbol 04:33, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hey @US, needing a information here, what MediaWikia we use here in the infobox, that doesn't needs the templates? I am asking this because i am helping a PT-BR naruto wikia, and their infobox need templates, can you help me? Thanks right away. Dan.Faulkner (talk) 00:27, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

If that MediaWikia isn't working, what is the MediaWikia that allows us in this wikia to put just the name in the infoboxs, ex: "Orochimaru" without the need to use "[[ ]]"?. Dan.Faulkner (talk) 11:36, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Shinobi who can fly

ultimate supreme why is the the "list of shinobi who can fly" constantly deleted I was asked by omnibender to create it and then seconds after I finished it ten tailed fox deleted it and you deleted it before at the beginning of the month--Slasher p72 (talk) 22:21, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I am not Slasher p72. Actually I never looked at this article after Omnibender undeleted it. Sorry for the inconvenience but can you undelete and merge the page histories (from before your deletion 3 weeks ago) just for 24 hours so I can copy the content and use it on another wiki? Or with your permission, keep the content in my userspace as user:vixra/list of shinobi who can fly?
Vixra (talk) 12:36, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

vixra isn't mine I was asked by omnibender to re-write that article using vixra's account and I didn't know you had one --Slasher p72 (talk) 23:05, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Hello Ultimate. I wanted to ask you, if you could kindly direct me as to how to add images from the games (emulators), since I have no idea how to use the fair use and fair use rationale templates. Hi. I would like to ask how did you guys make MediaWiki:Sitenotice work again. Thank you. Mckrongs 20:30, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Yup, the Oasis skin. Apparently it works in Oasis too, which I was wondering how since this is the only wiki I've seen with Sitenotice :) Mckrongs 06:02, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Sure thing. :) We will properly accredit it to you guys or to whom that made the code. Thank you very much in advance Mckrongs 06:08, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hm, it doesn't appear to work. I'm not sure where to put the code as I don't see it anywhere in Naruto Wikia's Wikia.js or Common.js MediaWiki pages. Mckrongs 07:25, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

NOW it worked WEW! A big thank you man. :D Mckrongs 08:07, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

wat ._.

Any idea why does my profile list my favorite wikis as 2 fanon ones? I'm not an editor there. What's strange, that according to the contributions list, it credits me there for edits done IN HERE on Narutopedia. How is that possible?--Elveonora (talk) 22:05, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

Please remove the AbuseFilter on image uploads, banning people from putting particular key words into a filename is ridiculous. --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 15:43, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

Edit bar

Any reason why the "more" thingy in the edit bar when editing in source mode is gone? You know, the thing where you could find several non-Latin characters, some templates. I normally use that to insert those different ref tags for when the same reference is used more than once in the same article. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:49, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

Most definitely going to file a ticket, because I use Oasis as well, and a quick check in other wikis shows me that it appears to be a global issue, at least for me. Any chance one of my addons is responsible? I use a number of security and privacy oriented addons, but none of them have been updated recently, and two days ago everything worked out great. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:49, August 19, 2013 (UTC)
The "plus" sign and the "more" text don't even appear. The only browser I have that this works is Opera. Issue isn't due to adblockplus, because I have that in all my browsers, and it works in Opera. Firefox looks completely broken, but I think that has more to do with the new mixed content blocker and the HTTPS Everywhere addon. Maybe it's that, since I also have it in Chrome, but not in Opera. Masters of Animanga promotion

Hello! I am herald_of_meridian and I'm here to let you know that Wikia has launched a pretty exciting animanga project that might spark the interest of your community! The project in question is the Collaborative Writing Project with the Masters of Animanga and is an event stretching from September 3rd to the 27th, where users are invited to collaborate with some big names in the animanga business to create three short stories based around the vampire genre, samurai genre and girls genre. Animanga Wikia users can work together with Japanese professional mangaka, illustrators and producers to create a paragraph-to-paragraph story that will be highlighted on Wikia and eventually also on New York Comic-Con! Now isn't that great?!

Now, Bereisgreat and I are spreading the word for them and requesting some major animanga Wikis to promote the project to its community. Can I ask you to place this image on both the main page and the Community-corner and have it linked to the MOA blog post that I linked earlier? We would also like a blog post or a forum post (whatever is most popular over here) to get a conversation started on the Wiki. If I could leave that in your hands, that'd be great, unless of course you would like me to reach out to this Wiki's users. Both these things would be sufficient and ideal to get the word out and create some attention for the project, which is very much appreciated. Also, are there any particular users you are aware of that would be interested in writing a story like this, since I would like to reach out to them personally.

Well, that about wraps it up, thanks and I hope we can put some effort into this!

Video policy

Hey there, I wanted to ask you about the discussion on videos here. It seemed to kinda die here and then got archived. Should it be re-opened? Is there anyway I can help? Let me know, I'd love to help out here with video. Thanks! --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 23:53, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Seeing that not many videos are being uploaded, there isn't an urgent need for a video policy. We are fine using properly licensed videos like used here.
I guess a bot already uploads videos from the Wikia Videos Library here.
As such videos aren't a great deal on this wiki. If you want to reopen the discussion, no problems at all.-- ~ UltimateSupreme 07:12, September 4, 2013 (UTC)
Hi, so currently on the video wiki we have 23 videos in the Category:Naruto. Do any of them seem useful? If not, are there videos that would be useful? We are very much growing our video wiki, so if there is something you would like to have for Naruto, please let me know so I can share that back with our video team. Thanks! --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 20:12, September 4, 2013 (UTC)
Sarah, I should really point out that the topic you linked to is not archived, it is simply a notice telling people that the discussion is old, it does not stop you bumping it (but it's frowned upon to do it) --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 20:13, September 4, 2013 (UTC)
Many of them would be useful. Thanx
  1. In how many ways exactly can a user upload a video other than the video embed tool.
    1. Can it be done by Special:Upload?
Yes, the videos from Wikia Video can be added in the same way any video can, from the editor, special:upload, special:videos or if the community decides to enable the related video module, through there.
  1. Is there an easy way to transfer videos from the wikia library to here (in bulk)? Btw, the LVS can't find any match.
There isn't currently a bulk solution, but I am happy to help bring videos over if you need help here.
  1. Which videos are uploaded by the Wikia Video Library (Its contribs are empty?)?
Not sure what you mean? The videos on Wikia Video are ones we ingest from partners. When someone bring a video from there to your wiki, they are given credit since they are the ones who are adding it to this wiki.
  1. Is it possible to have the Related Videos Module only on a particular category (or any similar filtering options)? ~ UltimateSupreme 10:12, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
No, its not currently, but we do have the ability for the wiki to limit to only those videos from Wikia Video (so folks couldn't add from youtube) and the limit of uploads of videos only by admins. The video tools are all very much in progress, so if there is a feature you would like, just let me know and I can share with the team. --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 14:57, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
On Special:Videos, it says video was uploaded by User:Wikia Video Library. The videos that I think would be useful here are of movies and video games, with trailers and promotional videos. Maybe ending and opening theme songs as well.
Btw, the link to upload videos doesn't appear in monobook. So the confusion... ~ UltimateSupreme 15:59, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Hi, So it appears the video embed tool in the editor is actually disabled here. I am guessing that is based off of an old decision? Would this be one the community is willing to change?
As for the videos page, we changed the way attribution worked based off of community feedback, so now it says the user (you can see i just added a video as a test there so you can see it). The videos that say Wikia Video were uploaded last year, before this change, so that is why they still say that. --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 18:37, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Started a little forum. Feel free to add tools there if I missed any.-- ~ UltimateSupreme 10:05, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
Great, I am following there now. I think those are the 2 tools that are missing here. --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 16:24, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

The pages such as "List of" are smw generated based on categories and put in an order with additional details. I see no reason to replace those with the raw category version. As for the Special:BrowseData pages, the majority work. — SimAnt 18:43, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

hey ultimate supreme. i think you are one of the best editors on Naruto wikia and i think you're great. however i recently saw you reporting me on violating the image policy. i dont know why you did this though. i was simply trying to add the pictures from the actual manga chapter on the chapter profile. so the pic from the manga chapter represents the actual title of the image. it took me quite a long while to do this to add the pic from the actual manga chapter by capturing the image from the computer ( i used a pic capture screen app). it took me around 40 mins to edit 6 chapters by searching for the good corresponding pic from the manga chapter the screen capturing it, adding the photo to the wikia and the copying and pasting the pic to the profile. i thought that what i did was kinda cool, cos i just figured out how to do it LOL. i am new to this wikia. i actually thought that what i did was cool and it would benefit the visitors on the wikia. if i may be right, i think you deleted my pics from the profile edit thingy (LOL) and the wikia, and you replaced them with the first page of the manga chapter.

now i really am sorry if what i said wasn't meant for you as in i made a mistake with the fact of you reporting me of violating the image policy. and i also am sorry if i was a bit rude. i simply was trying do something cool. now i won't be surprised if you send me a rude message or something like that (LOL! you know if i was rude).

i really appreciate your work on the Naruto wikia. i think you're actually pretty cool with the whole editing stuff because i've seen some of your works and edits on the wikia. i am really sorry if this message wasn't meant for you.

i really do wish that if i do put the pics that i put before on the wikia chapter profile edits you won't delete them again. but i won't put them back until you reply. (LOL if you do). again this is the third time of me saying this. sorry if i was rude and the message wasn't meant for you.

Beta Glossary

Howdy. So I think I'm going to try and run with the glossary idea and was wondering if you could import this template onto the wikia so we could see if it would work.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 17:31, September 15, 2013 (UTC)

I was thinking about a central place where we could put a list of words used in the series and define them. But I'm uncertain somewhat: it would essentially either do the job of [[Category:Naruto Terms]] or else be an additional page. My issue is though that our articles usually have a lot of info, so I'm wondering if this is even necessary.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 19:20, September 15, 2013 (UTC)

Full-body image uploader

Hey, I have an odd request. I know Hbxn is spamming the wiki with full body unlicensed images. But give him an hour please before potentially blocking him, I actually want to see if anything good comes from these uploads that we can actually use. ^_^" --Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 15:17, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

Some of his uploads are blatantly fanart or have watermarks on them. Unless he can prove his source of many of those uploads as being a legal and verified source, then he should be blocked. Considering the filenames of his uploads, they all seem to be fanart produced on a site like deviantArt. --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 15:22, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

Oasis sitenotice

Unfortunately, sitenotices for the Oasis skin are not allowed. I have removed the code from Common.js. I do realize that this code also affects Monobook sitenotices in some manner. Before the code is added again, it will have to be changed so that it does not affect Oasis. Thanks.

As for the issue outlined, has it been brought to our attention? DaNASCAT typically handles all the SMW related issues and he is out of the office today. I will check in with him tomorrow about this issue. Rappy @fandom 17:01, September 23, 2013 (UTC)

Reuploading troubles

I'm trying to reupload File:Sasuke's incomplete Susanoo.png as a new revision of File:Sasuke's Incomplete Susanoo.png. I tried it both with the "replace" in the drop-down menu, and the "upload a new version of this file" in the file history section, and it won't let me upload. Even when I fill out all the section, I still get a message saying "licensing must be complete". Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 16:46, September 29, 2013 (UTC)

Yes. I pick the file, select upload, and I'm taken to a page where I have to fill out the fair use rationale. I'm using Chrome, and I tried doing it after turning off the three extensions I have that tend to be the cause of stuff not working, which are adblock plus, Abine's TrackMeNot, and Ghostery. Fluid layout is enabled

Hello. As we discussed, I enabled fluid layout and Special:CSS here. Everything looks good, however I'm seeing some odd behavior on the background, but only on the main page. Every other page looks fine. The main page looks fine for a moment when it loads, and then changes as if the background is not tiled. Perhaps this is due to some custom CSS or JS you have set up? if you need help investigating, of if you have any other questions, let me know! RE: nav

I'd prefer the "list of" to remain the top level element, so Nav|List of.. a raw list (generated by category) Random Article — SimAnt 03:23, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

I'm really not a fan of pushing detailed searches down to allow for a top '#' list of articles in a category. So I suggest that just the two of us don't make the decision and you can put up a forum for the community to decide. — SimAnt 18:27, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Hi, UltimateSupreme! :) I know we don't interact much (if not at all) on the wiki, but I was hoping if you do me a favor: Can you teach me how to make infoboxes and templates? This isn't related to the Narutopedia, though. I know you and Simant-senpai are the ones that handle that. Thing is, I've been editing since I was thirteen and while I may have edit infoboxes before, I never actually created a template or infobox before. The coding for them got me completely lost, so I want to try and broaden my "horizons" a bit by learning how make them. This is something I've been thinking about for a while now, due to a certain reason, so... Yeah, can you please help me?--NinjaSheik 22:24, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

Yay! Thanks! :) It's just like I said previously: Teach me how to make infoboxes and templates. I know I could've gone to the guidelines on Central Wiki, but I thought it'd be better for me to learn from a fellow user, therefore, I could ask someone to give me baby steps. I feel a bit embarrassed for not knowing how to make a single infobox or template (like the ones used for navigating around a wiki, which lists characters and locations, etc), even though I know those things are important for a proper wiki. I know the Narutopedia doesn't use templates as navigation on the wiki, but they still use infoboxes. So basically, please teach me the very basic how to do it. The coding, how to make it the right length, and stuff like that. :) Again, baby steps. I tried reading up on how to make a infobox and template, but I got lost in the instructions. ^__^;--NinjaSheik 21:10, November 21, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, thanks! Sorry to bother you about this. :)--NinjaSheik 22:35, November 22, 2013 (UTC)

It seems that the font you chose, despite being better for the fluid layout, it doesn't quite work because they don't have the macroned letters, at least the one that is used for article titles and section titles. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:29, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Check the macroned u at Hinata's article in article title, infobox in general. In Temari's article, check the link to the third Shippūden movie in the movie section. Check Chōji's name in any infobox that shows his name to see what happens with the macroned o. Check the transliteration in Clethra. Look at the Daimyō Protection Squad infobox in general. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:10, November 27, 2013 (UTC)
I'm using a fully updated Windows 7. I use Chrome most often, and I checked it in Firefox and IE as well, all latest stable versions. IE has a few extra things, with the font for macroned letters outright changing, and remaining changed until the end of the word. What I see in Chrome and Firefox is this. Title looks better, but infobox still looks weird. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 14:02, November 28, 2013 (UTC)
Compare the macroned u of Hyūga in the article title, article text (bold and italic in the first sentence) with the Hyūga and Shippūden in the infobox. In the ones in the infobox, the height of the u is different. In the article text, the u has the same height as the other letters, with the macron covering the space similar to an upper case letter. In the infobox, just the u has got more height than the other letters. Look at the "Naruto: Shippūden the Movie" in the infobox. Look at the difference between the u from Naruto and the macroned u from Shippūden. It's almost like the macroned letter in being displayed in a different font size. Somehow, body flicker is showing as a new jutsu in all volume articles for me. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:49, November 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, that was fixed, but somehow, BFT is showing up as a derived of itself, and as a derived of Lightning Release Armour through Raiton Shunshin. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:04, November 29, 2013 (UTC)
The weird thing is that I had already done that. I only dropped by because doing that didn't solve the problem when I tried. All looks as it should now. It's weird, usually, when I had infobox trouble, just purging it did the trick, but this time, it required both editing the article and purging it.
