Hello. I was trying to tag a userpage for deletion, but I couldn't. Came across this thread, and frankly, nothing has been done about it, as seen here. Any suggestions about this?

Gud. Also, do you know what this is? Either I'm crazy or I am seeing colors... or both... and my preview and show changes button are just showing me blank spaces >_> WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:59, February 24, 2015 (UTC)

If he didn't want me to change them, he would have told me, like he always does when I do something wrong. And shrugs, better to use names related to Kishi rather than wikimade names I guess, since you and I both know how anal users are about using "official names." And trust me, this is not the first time arc name changes don't make sense or are not that relevant to the events in said arc (For instance, look at this arc).
EDIT: Also, DuelMaster93 provided little to no source as well, and we just changed them anyway so... /shrugs. Hey man, I'm just trying to be consistent. WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 18:36, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

You probably did this edit after seeing my signature for so long, huh? Didn't think I noticed "Moderator" being shortened to "Mod" in your signature just like mine?

Yeah, I noticed the colors were all of a sudden gone when I was editing your page...

Okay, yes, I understand that she's ignored many, many warnings, but I was under the impression that users are infinitely blocked because of either:

  1. Flat out vandalizing the wiki and clearly having no good-faith and all ill-intent.
  2. Or sockpuppetry.

Yes, she gets into it with many users, myself included on many occasions, but I'm not certain she should get the punishment of a vandal or sockpuppet. WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 22:04, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

how did i ever make a vandalism? how did i do wrong? i mean of course i'd been blocked sometimes, but is this because you noticed my today's edits? Kunoichi101 (talk) 23:03, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

I was looking at the Special:ListUsers and I happened to notice that some users are part of the "poweruser" group. What is that, exactly? WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 06:01, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Not surprised it's "just a name" as you say, but it's still nice to know that I, as a user, have "power," if you know what I mean... heh (jk). WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 14:57, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Re: reporting bad edit

It was a format change. If you notice when someone makes a section the (=== title ===), what she was editing was the title being (=== title===). I'll notice there is no space between the "e" and the =. I'm not sure why there is a rule about not making edits that aren't reflected on the the page, but as a person who has had the misfortune of writing tech documents and other related code like things, format changes are sound.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:05, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Continue to report such edits I miss please.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:08, March 14, 2015 (UTC)
Then I would suggest rewording it somewhat. Certain syntax edits (such as the aforementioned title thing) may seem unnecessary to you, but to the obsessive compulsive and those who worry constantly about uniform syntax, it is a sound edit. This is one where I am in agreement with her but keep me posted. I would like to know if her edits the pattern of her edits.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:52, March 14, 2015 (UTC)
So instead you simmer for a while before going to sysops to get her banned. Good move.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 11:35, April 14, 2015 (UTC)

if your going to bitch about me to other users cause your mad at me then grow up and speak to me about your issue. Im open to changes if you don't like something im doing. Yes i do talk page maintenance but i do also edit main space a lot so don't say that i don't. Im not trying to be your enemy or anything. Id also like to know what you mean by me making "pointless tasks" because if your referring to the attack prevention talk page then im not even the one that made that convo. I was asked what my thoughts on it were by another user and so i gave my thoughts. If something makes you mad then talk about it and try to fix it instead of turning into a tau like figure and trying to force others to do what you want. BTW i edit at least 20 different wiki so i don't do it cause im bored lol. I do it cause it should be done. My talk page edits don't bother anyone, there selected as minor edits and they fix talk pages. You have even told me when snapper was deleting my talk page edits that he was in the wrong. But now that your mad at me you say i was in the wrong. MAKE UP YOUR MIND. Munchvtec (talk) 14:57, March 17, 2015 (UTC)

Question: Can you tell me the difference between this edit and this one and why only one user gets reprimanded for such an edit?

EDIT: If such an edit is unnecessary, why is a sysop doing it then? WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:40, March 20, 2015 (UTC)

That's exactly what I thought, it is indeed encouraging others to do the same edits. But I'll wait on you to ask him (after you're done, whenever that is).
EDIT: And yes, that was a long wall of text on my talkpage. Will deal with that later.
WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:46, March 20, 2015 (UTC)
Well, I'm not the one that reprimanded a user for doing such an edit, so you asking him would make a lot more sense, whether that be tomorrow or next week. No pressure.
WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:49, March 20, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't think we should reprimand users for doing edits like this. Too many editors do it already. And I do understand why users perform specifically that edit, because it does look annoying when a user just randomly sticks a picture with a caption in a paragraph.

re: edit question

It's simply that whenever I edit, in the particular example you gave me, that's the most common way I see articles formatted as when I see them in source mode when editing, so whenever I see it without a space, I add it. Seeing those unmatched formats makes my inner consistency freak flare up. I usually do that sort of change along with other edits through articles, I've gotten some of those as edit conflicts as well, with the only difference between someone else restoring a better revision of the article and my edit being said space. Sorry for taking so long to answer. Between random lack of Internet and lots of personal real life crap, my wiki editing got pushed aside. Re: forum posts

Its something I do time to time on other sites like reddit as well. My reasons for doing it here is because I feel like my posts have very little weight in steering a convo in one way or another so I eventually purge them as they wouldn't be missed anyway. I see myself as a insignificant part of the userbase here so I erase myself from the forums every once in a while.Umishiru (talk) 20:04, April 8, 2015 (UTC)

re: Forum issues

We do need to address some issues in the forums, but why in the chat, secluded from everyone? I'd rather have us create a thread, and hear the opinions of others, too. We've done that in the past. WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 19:04, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

A massive pissing fight wouldn't happen though, considering we are the ones that would be moderating the thread. Public Wiki decisions should be made on the public wiki, no? re: posts

You're the one who brought up sysops, not me.

Once again, the issue I am making is not with you, hence my, "I don't care about you." The issue I am making is with the proposal, hence my, "I care about the proposal." User rights are currently set up so that only a sysop can grant a moderator flag. Until such time that the flag becomes actually viral, it shouldn't be treated like it is.

So again: "Modify the proposal so that only the wiki's decision matters and then I can shutup." ~SnapperTo 22:54, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

Furthermore, you wrongly assumed that the promotions would be discussed in private and that sysops would not be involved. That was not the intention. Like I explained to you later (which you conveniently chose to completely ignore) in the thread, the intention was to talk with the candidates about their high support, then me and WindStar would form the list of users who had accepted and then pass the list to a sysop for them to grant the rights.
But there's no need for you and WindStar to approve/vet/confer the candidates. You made the thread, that's all that's needed. The wiki can after that come to its own conclusion and a sysop can grant the flags accordingly. The middlemen are superfluous.
But instead, you were more interested about persistently whining in the thread and ignoring repeated requests to use my talkpage. I'll be later removing those posts so people are not distracted or intimidated by the pointless side chatter that wasn't necessary, which you could have avoided if you actually used my talkpage in the first place.
For the last time, the issue is the proposal. NOT YOU. Discussions about the proposal belong on the proposal's page, not the proposer's. ~SnapperTo 23:22, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

What exactly is a pointless edit?--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 18:03, April 14, 2015 (UTC)

I'm actually more upset with myself that I didn't clarify. What is a pointless edit that she had done. Details. What made it pointless. Climbing Silver trivia

You removed my edit to the "Climbing Silver" episode page, stating your reason as my edit being "unneeded." The trivia explains what Climbing Silver is when the episode itself already explains this, so in front of the current "Climbing Silver is a move in the Japanese board game shogi," I added "As is explained in the episode," because if the page is going to explain what Climbing Silver is, I believe it should be noted that the episode explains this.

In fact, if my edit is unneeded, then this piece of trivia is altogether unneeded. It would be like having the trivia section of the page for the episode that introduces the Sharingan explain what the Sharingan is when the episode already explains that: totally unnecessary.

If stating the obvious is unneeded, then the fact that the trivia itself is stating the obvious should clearly make that piece of trivia unneeded as well. Thus, I motion that the piece of trivia on that page be removed entirely, or you allow my edit to remain, because allowing one "unneeded" piece of trivia and not another is hypocritical and illogical. --EBsessed (talk) 18:23, April 14, 2015 (UTC)

  1. Why didn't you respond on your own talk page so both your and my messages would be in the same, easy-to-find location...? Coming to my page seems bizarre considering that nobody reading your page will see your answer, and nobody reading my page will see my original question to you in the first place to warrant this response. It seems to make sense to simply respond on the page where the question was asked.
  2. So by that logic, I can go ahead and remove the trivia piece in question because I consider it as pointless as you consider my edit to it. Perhaps I'll do that.
  3. What I'm saying is that the trivia IS redundant and pointless, because the episode itself explains what Climbing Silver is, rendering the trivia about it totally useless. You're saying my edit to it was pointless, and my counterpoint is that the triva piece itself is in and of itself pointless, which means if my edit should be removed, then so should the trivia piece along with it. Can you justify having the trivia on that page explain what something is when that same episode explains it? Respond to my comparison about the Sharingan that I made, wherein I presented a hypothetical situation where there existed an edit to the page for episode the Sharingan was introduced in explaining what the Sharingan is, which would be completely pointless since the episode itself explains what the Sharingan is, rendering an explanation of the Sharingan on that episode's trivia page unnecessary. That's what this Climbing Silver trivia piece is. It's a pointless piece of trivia that explains something the episode already explains on its own. EBsessed (talk) 22:21, April 14, 2015 (UTC)
Please explain how the Climbing Silver trivia is valid, and offer a legitimate counterpoint to my hypothetical scenario that you keep ignoring about having a piece of trivia explaining what the Sharingan is on the episode page for the episode that already explains it within the episode itself. How is it valid or necessary to have trivia on an episode's page explaining something that is explained in the very episode the page is dedicated to? You removed my edit for "redundancy" when that piece of trivia itself is redundant. So please, justify the validity of that piece of trivia and why it should stay.
Furthermore, you specifically told me, "So if you don't want your edits to be removed, don't submit them to the wiki," which entails that any edit can be removed for any reason at all. In fact, that statement implies that nobody should edit anything because it will probably be removed, which discourages contribution. You removed my edit because you thought it was redundant, and yet you re-added the trivia I removed because I thought it was redundant. You can't eat your cake and have it, too, and by telling me I can't remove trivia I consider redundant but you can remove trivia you consider redundant is hypocritical, especially since you told me that everyone (including me) has the right to remove anything added to the wiki. EBsessed (talk) 19:53, April 15, 2015 (UTC)
  1. How can you call a hypothetical scenario identical to the one we're dealing with "irrelevant?" It seems to me you just say whatever you want to say to end a debate, regardless of whether it's accurate or not, playing the unfair parental "because I said so" card rather than answering legitimate questions about your decisions. My hypothetical scenario was perfectly relevant, and it seems to me like you just don't want to acknowledge it. And frankly, I'm surprised to find that you would consider two paragraphs a "massive wall of text." Perhaps you don't read many books, but a couple of paragraphs is far from overkill. I think the fact that you consider my messages cumbersome and/or enormous says more about your impatience and stubbornness than it says anything negative about me or the strength of my argument. I type as much as necessary to make my point as thoroughly and clearly as possible, especially when the person I'm trying to get my point across to seems to either be not understanding what I'm saying or unwilling to respond in a fair, constructive fashion.
  2. Thank you for finally explaining and justifying your reason for removing my edit. That's literally all I was asking for, and this entire, unnecessarily drawn-out debate could've been very easily avoided had you simply answered my original message that way rather than as difficult and uncooperative as you were when you first responded. I was not being a "keyboard warrior" as you so condescendingly put it, I was simply trying to get you to answer my very simple question of "Why?" and to get you to provide your justification for removing my edit but leaving the trivia piece. Now that you've finally offered the response I was asking for from the beginning, this debate can rest. I don't agree with your reasons, and thus I'll now be able to take this to the episode's talk page, but at least you finally provided your reasons like I wanted.
  3. Once again, I'm sorry that you consider a few paragraphs a "wall of text," but regardless, I was not typing any more than I felt necessary to get you to answer my question, and the more you resisted, the more you were forcing me to exhaust every possible angle I could explain myself from in order to try to elicit a legitimate response from you. I take debate seriously, and when my questions aren't being answered, I'm forced to assume my opponent is not understanding what I'm asking and I will find varying ways to phrase my questions in an effort to have them answered, thus inevitably elongating my responses. I was not typing more for the sake of more just to try to sway you, my hand was forced to further press and explain and elaborate by your unwillingness to simply answer my question. Ironically enough, I wasn't even trying to get you to change anything or "win an argument" or make you "cave to a request" except for my request for justification of the action. I wanted you to justify and explain why you removed my edit, which you deemed "unneeded," and left the trivia itself, which I deemed unneeded. That's why I was debating on your talk page and not on the episode's talk page, because I was trying to understand why specifically you removed my edit.
Now that this exhaustive debate has reached a resolution, I thank you for finally answering the question I was trying to get answered. I'll move the debate about the trivia piece to the corresponding talk page now that I understand your particular reasons for doing what you did. That was all I wanted here. EBsessed (talk) 21:20, April 18, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Yomotsu Hirasaka

I notice the reverted change on the page 'Yomotsu Hirasaka.' While 比 and 良 does literally mean 'comparing' and 'good' respectively when you separate them, 比良 is technically a single term and holds its own literal meaning ('cliff'/'slope.') The term sources from ancient Japanese (as well as Ainu) back in its Wa days, and the kanji given is rendered arbitrary with respect to its origin.

Unfortunately I cannot find an English explanation online, but these two pages do mention the derivation of the term:

Thanks for the reply. I'm only a passer-by who happen to have an account, so I made the appropriate correction to the translation of a language with which I'm familiar. I am unbeknownst to the workings of the site (specifically that of your in-house translators and who they are,) so it would be great if you could pass the message to whomever it may concern for permission to edit.
Or, should the two links in my last comment serve as a valid source, I presume the edit can be admitted? --Utsune (talk) 17:30, April 24, 2015 (UTC)

Re: My Name

So is there any way I can do something that doesn't get stuck up your ass? I considered using your valued title would be far better than any of the amusing things I used to refer to you. But if your title is also taboo I will refrain from that as well.--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 15:00, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

I will ask, before doing anything exactly why the name "Spey" fills you with such woe? Isn't that what you came to the wiki as? Why does is that name such a problem that you would do the literally insta-ban method of manually going in and changing someone else's edits just to remove it?--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 15:03, April 25, 2015 (UTC)
You sure do push those forums like a meth dealer, don't ya. Because you are aware that the only things doable on the wiki are actually editing it, and playing in your playground. As such, there is no reason to not perma-ban her if your Pointless Edit point stands. Her 2 week ban will lift and she'll go right back to making edits, because she likes Naruto and wants to help the Wiki. But clearly she can't help the wiki enough so she must be cut off. For the good of the Watch.--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 15:21, April 25, 2015 (UTC)
And for what reason are you arguing against me from just perma-banning her at the end of this "discussion"? Clearly everything she does is wrong so why bother trying to rehabilitate?--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 15:28, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

How was he able to bypass the script and make a comment, and I can't? It literally tells me: "This thread hasn't been commented on for over 74 days. There is no need to reply." WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:22, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

Man, that's strange. I assume you added a new parameter to the {{ForumWarn}} template? WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:25, April 25, 2015 (UTC)
Dumb question: how do you use the new {{ForumWarn/reason}} template?

Ah, okay. Right, got it. WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 20:37, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

Can you join the chat room if you have time? I have something to discuss with. —Shakhmoot Nadeshiko Village Symbol (Talk) 16:38, April 26, 2015 (UTC)
