A forum you highlighted recently mentioned removing redlinks from pages. The [[Narutopedia:Talkpage policy|Talkpage policy]] states, "Do not remove or edit old messages." Would editing old messages on talk pages for maintenance purposes - obviously preserving the content so as to keep in the spirit of why this rule exists - be considered a violation? Without allowing such I feel the special maintenance pages have been rendered near worthless due to all the clutter of redlinks from talk pages. — [[User:Moonrise4|Moonrise4]] ([[User_talk:Moonrise4|talk]]) 04:44, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Speysider, that edit was obviously a careless mistake on my part. Lol, it was the manner in which I was editing the page that led to the typo. I changed the spacing according to the apparent standard I see in such lists in other articles. Most lists like that I see have spaces, if not all. It might not show in the actual article, but it looks awful and cramped when editing the page in source mode when these don't match up. And besides, the list was in that format already before your edit, with a space between the * and the word. I could put thirty spaces between words in the same line, and they'd still render as one. I don't know why Kunoichi101 was removing those commas, but I do know why they get added sometimes. When stuff gets added to those forms via suggestion and auto-complete, a comma (and maybe a space) get added automatically. That doesn't happen if you type out the name, or if you delete the comma after inserting it, prior to saving the edit. ==Sensing Water Sphere==
  +
What's your reason for [[Sensing Water Sphere]] not being [[Water Release]]? Sorry, but unless you have a good reason, I can't accept that, just 'cause you dislike the idea. As for myself, there are many hints of this technique being Water Release - the sphere is made out of water, it has ''water'' in its name, it uses water(bubbles) to monitor the surrounding area, what more proof do you need? Also, techniques in the databook aren't just stated to be of a nature, don't we just add the natures based on the descriptions?--[[User:Omojuze|Omojuze]] ([[User talk:Omojuze|talk]]) 15:22, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

:If a sphere, made of water, that uses water for a specific purpose, if not enough of a proof for you, just because it doesn't have ''Water Release'' in its name, whatever, I can go your way, which is unlike you. == Arc Names ==
  +
  +
First of all, the names are from the DVD releases, which are the official arc titles. Considering we were using official arc names for the manga arcs, I thought we might as well be as consistent as we can and use official arc names for the anime arcs too.
  +
Secondly, for the canon arcs, I didn't USE the official anime arc name. I just simply mentioned what it was called in the anime.
  +
Thirdly, [[Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc]] to [[The Six-Tails Unleashed]] is simply what the Japanese DVD season called it, not me. I just translated the name (and trust me, the translation is correct).
  +
Lastly, I was unaware a new thread was opened once the voting thread was closed, so I didn't think anyone would bother to read or discuss filler arc titles cause a decision has been already made for the canon arcs and not too many people care about the filler arcs. I apologise for my edits and I will discuss it in the forum.--[[User:DuelMaster93|DuelMaster93]] ([[User talk:DuelMaster93|talk]]) 18:04, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

:Ok firstly, none of the arc names are matching exactly (some very similar but not matching), and how correct the arc names are shouldn't matter, as they are official arc names. I did not make these arc names up, they are official. I also share the same opinion, that some of them are blatantly wrong, but nevertheless they are official, and if we are using official arc names for canon arcs we should be as consistent as possible and use official arc names for the filler arcs, regardless of what they are called. This is why there is a short summary/synopsis at the top of each arc page. One could argue the Chikara arc name is official, but isn't specific enough about the actual arc's story. While we're on the topic, may I ask why the Chikara arc is the only filler arc to use it's official arc name? Yet another inconsistency. And just because the arc is non-canon, doesn't mean we shouldn't use official arc names, as they are still arcs and and still official. Even if some of arc names are wrong, at least they are official and consistent. And who said we can't use ~ or : in the title? A number of articles on the wiki have those in their titles.--[[User:DuelMaster93|DuelMaster93]] ([[User talk:DuelMaster93|talk]]) 18:40, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

  +
::If you look at various episode pages such as [[Kakashi Chronicles ~ Boys' Life on the Battlefield ~ Part 1]] and [[Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!]], they contain ~ or : . I am not gonna list each one, but you see the point. Anyway, moving on, it doesn't have to come directly out of the author's mouth, manga or databook to be official in regards to the anime. Your point would be valid if the arc names came from another source, but these arc names are coming directly from Studio Perriot, who are in charge of the anime. By your logic since filler episodes aren't official we should just re-name them to what we want them to be because they're non-canon. Just like movies and video games, their titles are registered and trademarked, therefore making them official titles. When it comes to anime, if they studio that produces the anime release official titles, they are official unless or until the original mangaka states otherwise. And even though I already apologised and stated my reasons for editing without prior discussion once again, I apologise.--[[User:DuelMaster93|DuelMaster93]] ([[User talk:DuelMaster93|talk]]) 19:11, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

I'm doing things that should have been done a while ago. For example, let's say an arc is said to spans from chapters 454 to 483. Events from chapter 453 aren't supposed to be there, correct? That's exactly what I'm doing. Altering the summaries to match the chapter limits. I should have done that while we were altering the chapter numbers, but I had no time to do so. So I'm doing that now. <br>~•[[User:WindStar7125|<font color="blue">'''''WS7125'''''</font>]]<span title="This user helps the wiki by moderating the forums and the chat">[Mod]</span>[[File:WindStar7125 Task.svg|20px|link=User talk:WindStar7125]][[File:WindStar7125's Task.svg|20px|link=Special:Contributions/WindStar7125|]] 21:36, December 21, 2014 (UTC)

I have proof. First, the databooks (and by extent Yamato) mention that Medical Ninjutsu breathe life into the target, which is the same description as Yang Release. Uhm, I have to ask why. I don't see a problem with using a W instead of writing out the entire word. In fact it's quite convenient in my opinion. There are times when you have to external link things and it's much quicker to just type "W". Just like the -L instead of having to type "break" all the time. Either way, I think you should ask more people about it...--[[User:Cerez365|Cerez<small>365</small>™]][[File:Hyūga Symbol.svg|20px]][[User talk:Cerez365|(talk)]] 20:07, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

: Agreed with Cerez. I actually find said template to be quite handy. I've used it on a number of other wikis (never here though o.O Didn't know you guys had it), and it really does save time, rather than having to type out the Wikipedia template - <nowiki>[[wikipedia:[Article Name]|(Article name again)]]</nowiki>, and rather just slap the aritlces name in there <nowiki>{{w|article name}}</nowiki> and just be done with it. Sure, one may see it as laziness, but I ask you, what is so wrong with making something that can be time consuming, even by a few seconds, an unnecessary step? ~ '''''[[User:Ten Tailed Fox|Ten Tailed Fox]]''''' [[File:Yamagakure Symbol.svg|14px|link=User talk:Ten Tailed Fox]] 20:12, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

:: I wouldn't necessarily disagree with the "lazy editing" part. But templates are the "cheat codes", if you will, to Wikia syntax. I mean, I don't need to tell you; I'm sure you've seen hundreds of template coding. If we want to talk about "lazy editing" and proper syntax writing, that's how its done. Using the code directly. Templates, on the other hand, allow use a shortcut passed that. And [[Template:W]] is just removing one step from a template, and making it easier to use, which, I would think, should be encouraged. Especially on a Wikia environment. The truth is that regular readers don't care which templates we use, so long as they get their information correctly. So, I'd say, as long as the link goes to the proper place, if something makes it easier for our editors to get information out there, even if its a menial task such as removing one step from an old template to make it easier to link said information, go for it. That kind of change isn't something you want to combat. ~ '''''[[User:Ten Tailed Fox|Ten Tailed Fox]]''''' [[File:Yamagakure Symbol.svg|14px|link=User talk:Ten Tailed Fox]] 20:21, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

I can't agree there. I mostly edit and I'm lazy, I have no problem with the template. If there's small stuff we or anyone can do to make that easier I'm all for it. I once update an article solely through speech to text technology. If it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't recognise some words, I'd use it all the time.--[[User:Cerez365|Cerez<small>365</small>™]][[File:Hyūga Symbol.svg|20px]][[User talk:Cerez365|(talk)]] 20:25, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

:::: But by that same logic, we should get rid of the infobox templates. Do you know how long it takes to load pages like Naruto's and Obito's? Forever, compared to the others. Also, templates for "bold" and "italics" is a rather bad example, don't you think? They're already simplified versions of other templates. For example, <nowiki>'''bold'''</nowiki> is a lot faster than <nowiki><b>bold</b></nowiki> even though the latter is more correct to the syntax than the former. Same for the templates we use for italics. Also, Template:W and Template:Wikipedia use the same basic format, the only difference is you don't have to type an article name twice, which you do in the latter, rather than typing it once. Also, I ask you why readers would care what templates of syntax we use? One would think that, unless they were also an editor, they wouldn't care what templates we use. Furthermore, a lot of wikis are phasing the old Wikipedia template out, in favor of this new one, so I ask why ''they'' would care that we use it? In fact, Wikia itself tried to simplify syntax by creating a Rich Text Editor (which I abhor, but see the practicality of it), so even Wikia doesn't care if we can use the base syntax. Its a website, and more people can contribute if the templates are simple and easy to use. The simpler, the better, as more can lend their hands to the process. At the end of the day, that's all I, and others, as editors care about; readers don't care at all; and even Wikia themselves would encourage it. I get that it peeves you when others use simplified routes, but "lazy editing" is a rather silly term to use. We're not running a gun-making factory here; we're trying to present an information in the simplest, and easiest manner possible. How we go about that, is our choice, and I think you will find that more people are in support of making any complicated process easier in the long run, than those that will oppose it. Especially for reasons like "lazy editing. ~ '''''[[User:Ten Tailed Fox|Ten Tailed Fox]]''''' [[File:Yamagakure Symbol.svg|14px|link=User talk:Ten Tailed Fox]] 20:45, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

:You can keep editting my posts. I really don't care. I do find it worrisome when the power to edit someone's posts is used for any number of reasons the editor sees fit. If what they say is offending, call them out for it. But if it isn't so bad that it's very presence is ruining the life of the wikia, then one wielding the power should go in and edit it. Standard forum etiquette; users don't like it when an admin edits their posts. And you do so constantly. It creates a lack of faith. Yes I'm aware of what the policy (which if I remember correctly, you made) but that doesn't mean it should be used. Integrity is important. I've already used the edit summary though so... and not every user notices the "You have new messages" balloon at the bottom right of their page? Huh. I read the policy, it says the rollback flag is to revert obvious vandalism. That's what Zkelvln is doing (at least, I thought so after I told him/her multiple times to stop). I did just that, reverted the vandalism, and asked him/her to stop on his/her talkpage multiple times. But if I'm abusing it according to you, hey, I'll listen to you then. Though I always use the edit summary when reverting edits and always tell other editors to do the same, and I use the rollback function when it's obvious vandalism. And the policy doesn't say "not everyone notices their talkpage" So... I'm quite confused here. I guess my interpretation of the policy differs from yours just a little bit. Im still confused about the Hanzo matter but after reading your reply in the episode discussion, 2 things that i didn't understand were
  +
  +
"When the third war finished, it's stated that Hanzo's rule declined and it was during this time that Pain staged a civil war and killed Hanzo" Did it say Hanzo was killed shortly after it started because if not, hanzo could of died anytime from the start of it to sometime before Jiriya vs Pain.
  +

And secondly "Nagato (through Pain) already ruled in Amegakure at the end of Part 1, through the scene of them convening, which would have already indicated that Hanzo was dead at that point." Anyway, the real reason I'm talking right out is because I had a question. Do threads get deleted after a while, or do they stay on the wiki permanantly? Because I need time to take everything everyone said and update what I wrote.[[User:Gemnist|Gemnist]] ([[User talk:Gemnist|talk]]) 20:01, January 10, 2015 (UTC)Gemnist

Thanks for the advice, but I'm perfectly fine with the Monobook skin. I like its simplicity. :) I've edited using the official Wikia skin before during school sometimes as an anonymous user on other wikias. I found myself not liking it very much. I don't care for the enhancements, and I don't go on the chat a lot, either. So, I really don't have a reason to change over to the default skin.--'''[[User:NinjaSheik|<span style="color:#FBEC5D;">Ninja</span>]][[User talk:NinjaSheik|<span style="color:#87CEFA;">Sheik</span>]]''' 23:15, January 12, 2015 (UTC)

Explain [http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Release?diff=prev&oldid=1002832 this] to me? Why exactly did you not just undo the edit and use the edit summary? I assumed reverting using the rollback function was only for vandalism, and you told me not to use the rollback function unless there is obvious vandalism or persistent restoring of edits, and assume good faith (which is why I do not intentionally use the rollback function anymore, unless there is vandalism or it was an accidental click). When I last intentionally used the rollback function, it was to revert a speculative edit, but you told me to use the undo button first (which I have taken heed of) then I see you give the same reasoning to Elveonora about using the rollback function on an edit you deemed speculative. I understand that I had a very itchy rollback finger (not accusing you of that), but it looks to me like you told me one thing and did the other. So rather than use the edit summary like you told me, why did you use the rollback function on those edits, which were clearly of good-faith? Not trying to blast nor criticize you (at all, believe me), but I am asking this because now I am extremely confused as to what you told me on my talkpage about the function not too long ago about "[using] Undo in the first instance to explain the reason BEFORE using rollback." (By the way, you already told me about the rollback function, you do not have to tell me twice, but all I ask for is an explanation for why you did what you did). -- [[User:WindStar7125|WindStar7125]] ([[User talk:WindStar7125|talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/WindStar7125|contribs]]) 22:06, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

After reviewing Seelentau's post and the posts of several others including your last one, I have come to the conclusion that nothing Seelentau said, while incredibly heavy handed and forceful, was not trolling or attacking anyone, and certainly not enough for you to call him out in the clearly hostile way you did. As such, I would suggest under no circumstances should you engate in him directly any further. If he does/do something that you disagree with let another sysop know and do not engage him; this includes deleting his forum messages as that does absolutely nothing but make things worse. From where I'm sitting, you seem incapable of addressing anything Seelentau does without it being a "abuse of power" attack and in doing so further spreads the flames. So once again, if Seelentau does something you disagree with, let a 3rd party sort it out themselves to resolve it. SuperSajuuk, can you explain [[Special:Contributions/Mohamed adel|Mohamed adel]]'s block.
  +
  +
I believe that when you asked, [{{fullurl:User talk:SuperSajuuk|diff=prev&oldid=946552}} I told you] that you're better off letting sysops handle blocks for wiki vandalism unless you're trying to stop an ongoing flood.
  +
  +
But in this instance it appears you've:
  +
* Blocked a user for wiki vandalism, not forum abuse.
  +
* Done it at the same time as giving them a warning, instead of blocking them on a repeat.
  +
* Then upgraded it to a "cannot edit own talk page" block for a message removal not only without giving them a warning first, but without bothering to give them an explanation about our talkpage policy at all.
  +

  +
:If you dispute a block like that bring it to my attention, don't use it as the guideline for how you make blocks.
  +
:The user made all those moves over the course of 5 minutes ending with the page back where it came from. Your block was made over 45 minutes later when they had already stopped that and made a different edit. As far as blocking goes "repeat" behaviour is not multiples of the same thing done all at once, it's something done again after receiving a warning the first time.
  +
:As long as we have sysops that come on periodically it doesn't matter what hours they're available. Blocks are rarely things that need to be done immediately. The only time a block is urgent is when a user is currently and continually engaging in vandalism/harassment and either ignoring the warnings or not reading their talkpage.
  +
:For all this normal vandalism please just pretend you don't have the block right and use the requests page like all the other users. Lowering the average response time for non-forum blocks is not what the block right on your Forum Operator flag is for.

SuperSajuuk, staff are wanting both you and Sel to cool off and focus on moderating the other users.
  +

I looked through [[Thread:160121#15]] and comments like "Who cares about the anime, seriously?" are not personal insults, they don't target individual users and they aren't meant to degrade. In the first place the target of this comment appears to have been the anime and its authors, not people who watch it. You were fine to mention the users that care about the anime, but bringing in comments like "I advise you desist such behaviour in forum threads" was far from necessary. Take this both as a note that the bar for what warrants administrative action is too low and that speech like that should be avoided in a first warning.
  +
  +
Frankly, it looks like if you hadn't intervened at all the topic would have simply continued along without any long argument or anyone feeling hurt. Rather than your moderation reducing disputes your presence acted as a catalyst creating one.

You need to be wary of diving straight into warnings or including mentions of the use of things like blocks into early warnings. This kind of high handed speech not only catalyzes and inflames disputes but also makes the place unwelcoming to newbies that trip over a policy. Wikipedia's guidelines like assume good faith and WP:BEANS are good advice to start with here.

You shouldn't be waving around the TOU. The TOU is enforced by staff, staff decide what is and isn't a TOU violation. And the abuse, harassment, etc... in there is there for serious extremes, not bickering between a wiki's admins/mods. If his comments were seriously TOU violations you should have talked to staff right then instead of moderating them yourself.

I assume OVA you mean something that played during the episode? If it wasn't an OP or ED I don't give a hoot where it came from as long as it exists. You "concluded" that it wasn't in the episode? You should rewatch it then. Stop reverting the article back to an inferior image of his eyes. the quality of the new one is superior and it mirrors the other images perfectly. 17:48 is when you see the frame where the image was taken, so go ahead and rewatch it if you're unconvinced. --[[User:M4ND0N|Mandon]] ([[User talk:M4ND0N|talk]]) 00:19, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not acting high and mighty, I'm simply saying that cropped image, low res or no, it looks better as an overall thumbnail than the version you uploaded. Yeah, the images I upload are usually 480p but it's not like you can see 1080p in a thumbnail unless you really look for it. I also don't have any HD sources so when I uploaded the image all that was available was 480p at least to my knowledge. With that being said, if you have a source that uploads the episodes in high definition on the day the episode airs then it wouldn't hurt to wire it over to me so I don't have to upload low-res images anymore. How rude Edit

Maintenance Edit

A forum you highlighted recently mentioned removing redlinks from pages. The Talkpage policy states, "Do not remove or edit old messages." Would editing old messages on talk pages for maintenance purposes - obviously preserving the content so as to keep in the spirit of why this rule exists - be considered a violation? Without allowing such I feel the special maintenance pages have been rendered near worthless due to all the clutter of redlinks from talk pages. — Moonrise4 (talk) 04:44, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I was planning on just removing one of the sets of brackets so they preserve the name and look like they were supposed to be a link. — Moonrise4 (talk) 13:47, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

In order to showcase the databook names and the names we chose. I suggest you let them know what will be replaced.

Sensing Water SphereEdit

What's your reason for Sensing Water Sphere not being Water Release? Sorry, but unless you have a good reason, I can't accept that, just 'cause you dislike the idea. As for myself, there are many hints of this technique being Water Release - the sphere is made out of water, it has water in its name, it uses water(bubbles) to monitor the surrounding area, what more proof do you need? Also, techniques in the databook aren't just stated to be of a nature, don't we just add the natures based on the descriptions?--Omojuze (talk) 15:22, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

If a sphere, made of water, that uses water for a specific purpose, if not enough of a proof for you, just because it doesn't have Water Release in its name, whatever, I can go your way, which is unlike you. Arc Names Edit

First of all, the names are from the DVD releases, which are the official arc titles. Considering we were using official arc names for the manga arcs, I thought we might as well be as consistent as we can and use official arc names for the anime arcs too. Secondly, for the canon arcs, I didn't USE the official anime arc name. I just simply mentioned what it was called in the anime. Thirdly, Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc to The Six-Tails Unleashed is simply what the Japanese DVD season called it, not me. I just translated the name (and trust me, the translation is correct). Lastly, I was unaware a new thread was opened once the voting thread was closed, so I didn't think anyone would bother to read or discuss filler arc titles cause a decision has been already made for the canon arcs and not too many people care about the filler arcs. I apologise for my edits and I will discuss it in the forum.--DuelMaster93 (talk) 18:04, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Ok firstly, none of the arc names are matching exactly (some very similar but not matching), and how correct the arc names are shouldn't matter, as they are official arc names. A number of articles on the wiki have those in their titles.--DuelMaster93 (talk) 18:40, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
If you look at various episode pages such as Kakashi Chronicles ~ Boys' Life on the Battlefield ~ Part 1 and Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!, they contain ~ or : . And even though I already apologised and stated my reasons for editing without prior discussion once again, I apologise.--DuelMaster93 (talk) 19:11, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Re: err ... Edit

I have proof. First, the databooks (and by extent Yamato) mention that Medical Ninjutsu breathe life into the target, which is the same description as Yang Release. Also, Naruto-Jesus powers = Medical Ninjutsu, and we all know that was done using Yang Release.--TruthSeeker149 (talk) 18:39, December 24, 2014 (UTC)

Just like Sasuke has Yin Release (Genjutsu used against Sakura) and Genjutsu (like Madara), Naruto has Yang Release and Medical Ninjutsu (like Hashirama), given by the Sage of Six Paths, this is not speculation, this is fact. You can keep editting my posts. Forum Warning #1 Edit

"I think the entire holiday is as primitive as our species can get. It's called Christmas, yet it's about lying to children that there's a fat old man wearing red with snow-white beard who rides his flying reindeer all over the world, to slide down everyone's chimney to gift children. Oh, he even lives at the north pole and has elven assistants, too.

Christmas ISN'T a Christian holiday contrary to what many believe, it's a mishmash of pagan traditions, there's no good reason for either Christians or otherwise to celebrate it, it's unbiblical. The Santa thing is over the top nonsense and there's no real evidence at all that Jesus was born on 25th December of any year.

So if you happen to celebrate magical fat old men in red or cosmic zombie Jews, then you most likely do simply because, well... everyone else does, which if you think about isn't a good reason at all."

Is this, by no means, disruptive to the discussion at hand? How about that, then:

"I don't know. If I ever have children, I won't brainwash them with false promises. Your son's world may break apart once he finds out what he's been happy about was all false."

So why am I the only one who got a Forum Warning? Why do you support/ignore your friends and then bash out on others? Not really hypocrisy so much as a double standard there.

Ps.: Please delete the previous message. I messed up. lol

Variation Edit

Regarding the Adamantine Sealing Chains, why would we use a variation of the technique for the infobox image? Cerez put that image there and 1 user changed it, so i put it back. There's no edit war. --Kris.gilson.12 (talk) 22:25, December 29, 2014 (UTC)

There wouldn't have to be a edit war if Windstar hadn't remove the variation section, as the image and information related to that belongs there. I know this is not the article talkpage, but am i right in saying that the article needs a variation section? --Kris.gilson.12 (talk) 22:42, December 29, 2014 (UTC)
And you're mentioning my name because...? There was no need for a "variation section," Adamantine Attacking Chains has its own article, so it was redundant and utterly pointless to put the same damn thing in the Adamantine Sealing Chains article as a "variation section" when it, again, has its own article. I haven't changed any image, so please, don't blame me for any "edit war" because you don't like something. ~•WS7125[Mod]WindStar7125 TaskWindStar7125's Task 23:01, December 29, 2014 (UTC)

You were in the right Windstar in removing the Kirin content, no one is disputing that. All i am saying it that the technique through Naruto belongs in a variation section unless we want an article called "Transcription Seal: Adamantine Sealing Chains". --Kris.gilson.12 (talk) 23:13, December 29, 2014 (UTC)
Can you please take this somewhere else? I answered your question, you don't need a big long discussion with other users on my talkpage. If you want a different imageo n the infobox, you bring it up on the article's talkpage. --Sajuuk [Moderator] Talk Page | Contribs | Channel 23:22, December 29, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in but people rarely reply on article talk pages, i can vouch for that as 1 of my questions regarding the infobox image is yet to be acknowledge. Re: Rollback Edit

Though, I'll gladly take your advice.

Confusion Edit

Im still confused about the Hanzo matter but after reading your reply in the episode discussion, 2 things that i didn't understand were

And secondly "Nagato (through Pain) already ruled in Amegakure at the end of Part 1, through the scene of them convening, which would have already indicated that Hanzo was dead at that point." I might be completely clueless but how does the akatsuki having a meeting mean Pain was the leader of Amegakure? Correct me if im wrong on anything. --Sarutobii2 (talk) 20:31, January 8, 2015 (UTC)

My threads Edit

I see that the thread got closed, which I kinda saw coming since this is you we're talking about and it had been going on for a while. As for the fanon wiki, they actually find the thing a "clutter" and made me put everything on my user page on that site. I honestly don't know what to say about that. Anyway, the real reason I'm talking right out is because I had a question. Do threads get deleted after a while, or do they stay on the wiki permanantly? Because I need time to take everything everyone said and update what I wrote.Gemnist (talk) 20:01, January 10, 2015 (UTC)Gemnist

I never tried to say that you close threads for fun; it was more that you have dominion over them, which is something no one can deny since you're a forum moderator. Re: Edit

  1. Nothing's wrong. However, personal events in my real life have affected my motivation to do certain things. Editing and moderating are among those things. Just letting you know. Though I will still be here and monitor the wiki on a constant basis.
  2. Also, for a while I've thought about being as basic and simplistic as possible. The blanking and removing of things are an example of that.
  3. Nah, I don't really feel like chatting much at the moment.

-- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 23:26, January 12, 2015 (UTC)

No, it hasn't been greatly affected. I'll still will watch over the forums and the chat, and edit the wiki. I'll be just as active as before. What's affected is not my activity, but rather how I edit. I mean I will try not be as... assertive as before, if you catch my drift. I don't feel any pressure as an op either, to let you know. But I will still be around as much as before.
--WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 23:41, January 12, 2015 (UTC)
Do not worry, I manage my time just fine. Though I do understand that assertiveness is necessary (especially in the forums), all I am saying is that I will try to do so only when necessary (such as, supporting your decisions, and the like). I have not thrown it all away you know. Just to clarify.

Though, as a final suggestion: I do wish for someone to request Dantman to further clarify the rights of sysops and forum moderators in the forums, considering the disputes between you and the sysops have left me quite confused if the sysops are even allowed to manage the forums as well. --WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 00:37, January 13, 2015 (UTC)

There's an explanation right in that sentence as to why I do that. Furthermore, please don't write to me again. Ever. I don't want to put up with your "problems", so if you ever got one, pelase refer to another sysop or go to Dantman. re: classifications Edit

The article states: "Hiruko used his chimera technique to steal kekkei genkai from an unknown shinobi which allowed him to use x release" or so. For Guren, Crystal is listed as a kekkei genkai in her article, doesn't make sense for it not to be considered one in its own article, consistency.--Elve [Moderator] Talk Page|Contribs 16:36, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

Well, I haven't seen the movie, ask those who did. For Guren, if a nature isn't a basic one, it's an advanced nature and all advanced natures so far have been kekkei genkai/tota/mora whatever.--Elve [Moderator] Talk Page|Contribs 17:03, January 20, 2015 (UTC)
I saw the movie, and there it was stated that Dark, Steel and Swift Releases were kekkei genkai.--JOA2017:10, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

Can you... Edit

Explain this to me? First, he added an interwiki link, then a KKG classification to the article, (Which I recall you had a misunderstanding with Elveonora about) and you just rollback'd all of it. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 22:06, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

Scuffle in the Forum Edit

Thank you.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 14:28, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

If you don't mind, and please be brief. Why was Emphxtic's "Owned" left as is? If anything I would think that was a direct snipe at Seelentau, but nobody seemed to bat an eyelash. I mean the entire message wouldn't even need to be removed. Just the clear snipe at another user.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 15:41, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

Use of "cannot edit own talk page" blocks Edit

Please read Thread:160630. ~ Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 23:46, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

Mohamed adel Edit

SuperSajuuk, can you explain Mohamed adel's block.

I believe that when you asked, I told you that you're better off letting sysops handle blocks for wiki vandalism unless you're trying to stop an ongoing flood.

But in this instance it appears you've:

  • Blocked a user for wiki vandalism, not forum abuse.
  • Done it at the same time as giving them a warning, instead of blocking them on a repeat.
  • Then upgraded it to a "cannot edit own talk page" block for a message removal not only without giving them a warning first, but without bothering to give them an explanation about our talkpage policy at all.

~ Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 01:12, January 22, 2015 (UTC)

If you dispute a block like that bring it to my attention, don't use it as the guideline for how you make blocks.
The user made all those moves over the course of 5 minutes ending with the page back where it came from. Your block was made over 45 minutes later when they had already stopped that and made a different edit. As far as blocking goes "repeat" behaviour is not multiples of the same thing done all at once, it's something done again after receiving a warning the first time.
As long as we have sysops that come on periodically it doesn't matter what hours they're available. Blocks are rarely things that need to be done immediately. The only time a block is urgent is when a user is currently and continually engaging in vandalism/harassment and either ignoring the warnings or not reading their talkpage.
For all this normal vandalism please just pretend you don't have the block right and use the requests page like all the other users. Lowering the average response time for non-forum blocks is not what the block right on your Forum Operator flag is for.

You and Sel Edit

SuperSajuuk, staff are wanting both you and Sel to cool off and focus on moderating the other users.

I looked through Thread:160121#15 and comments like "Who cares about the anime, seriously?" are not personal insults, they don't target individual users and they aren't meant to degrade.

Also,

You shouldn't be waving around the TOU. The TOU is enforced by staff, staff decide what is and isn't a TOU violation. And the abuse, harassment, etc... in there is there for serious extremes, not bickering between a wiki's admins/mods. If his comments were seriously TOU violations you should have talked to staff right then instead of moderating them yourself.

Finally,

It's probably best if for now, for any topic you're too personally involved in, you leave reply removing and thread closing to WindStar or someone else.

Very well. Sorry for the trouble. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 17:50, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
I was going to use the {{looking for}} template from the beginning, but I was still confused as to using either Tenseigan or Tenseigan (Dōjutsu) for the name of this article, which is why I held back from using it. I created the 2-link disambig page based on the Tobi disambig page, and opted to decide on the name after. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 17:54, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
Deleting both 2-link pages now? Eh, fair I guess. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 18:06, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
