Hey Snapper2! I just wanted to let you know that er... well to tell you the truth, some edits that came from you weren't the best. Mind you, i suggest revising your edits such as acupuncture, 100% Single Punch and Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. For 100% Single Punch, its clean up wasn't much of a clean up... you sort of deleted almost all information... If you need to contact me, please respond on my talk! --NejiByakugan360 22:48, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I see why you did the editing now, but for the 8 trigrams thing, are you sure that is the real name?--NejiByakugan360 23:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Snapper2, please stop trying to recreate stale category techniques which we have been trying to get rid of. Categories for separate types of Jutsu, ninja Ranks, and loyalties were finally removed, or at least almost completely remove awhile ago and replaced with semantically correct annotations to the pages which actually allow us to build complex queries. Removing jutsu from the Jutsu category destroys our ability to create Jutsu lists from the articles. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 17, 2009 @ 17:44 (UTC)

Category:Kages as you can see on that page is marked for deletion to notify people to stop using it. There is no Property:Kage because you misunderstand semantics. The relevant property is Property:Rank, so in a query Rank::Kage will filter the list to only include Kage. The current (old) infobox already includes support for these inside the | rank = property, just make sure that | rank = Kage is used instead of | rank = Kage as the later stops the annotation from working.
Template:Ninja loyalty was created quite some time ago when we didn't have semantics. The limitation of it is because of it's use of categories and the fact that it is meant for title icons. The reason why the list is so small is because that is the list I knew about back when it was created. More loyalties have been added to the universe over time, so for now feel free to update that template with any new ones. In the future when the new infobox is done (It looks like I might want to do some more experimentation on the Soul Eater Wiki before I work on the complexities of the infoboxes here) that kind of stuff should be handled much better.
As for Category:Jutsu, that is our atomic category for jutsu. Effectively it serves as our filter of "This is a Jutsu", and by definition "Jutsu" should contain all jutsu. For what it impedes, that would be queries:
But basically we need the common category to filter queries. As for alleviating things, queries can be used to create jutsu lists. And at that, in the futrue ones better than a category can show:
Unfortunately at the moment names are not annotated on jutsu pages so those don't show up yet. Honestly, I was hoping that once jutsu pages were annotated nice and widespread (hopefully using an infobox) the pages like List of Ninjutsu could be replace by nice generated lists. As well, I poked Wikia awhile ago to install Semantic Drilldown since it basically creates a more robust category like view system for semantic annotations. Though just like Semantic Forms did, it'll probably take awhile, as well as some community pushing just to get it installed.
You're free to help out with Template:Infobox/Jutsu (Example). One of the things that impeded development of it was how long it took to get SF installed (arraymap is needed for these newer infoboxes so that userinput is not too complex). But a good definition of rows is needed for infobox creation. There are a number of rows that are being used on existing Jutsu pages that are not inside that template under development. Feel free to help out in defining what is needed inside the infobox. A good list of what rows should exist, what format these rows should be inputted in, and what kind of values they can have would be very useful. I've been doing a lot of work on the Soul Eater Wiki with the techniques for the infoboxes, forms, and ability pages. Take a look at w:c:souleater:Witch Hunt for example, but getting that to work on the Narutopedia is a good bit more work. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 18, 2009 @ 00:07 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about the bug with the infobox, I thought it was there but it wasn't, I fixed the issue now so feel free to go around and fix any | rank = Rank or | rank = Rank::Rank to use | rank = Rank.

I'm working on techniques, not specific formatted infoboxes. How similar the abilities in Naruto and Soul Eater are don't really matter. I just need to apply the techniques to the infoboxes here. Though, one big issue here is hierarchy. For example, on Soul Eater it's small enough that "| user =" is a simple comma separated list of names. However on the Narutopedia a "user" can be a person, a clan, a village, all ninja, ninja of and above a certain rank, users with a kekkei genkai, and so on, and some even exclude certain people, and even be limited to a game or anime/manga only. So I have to come up with a way for that to be inputted.

Jutsu pages actually have rows that are not in that infobox, things like debuts have been added to the jutsu infoboxes but not listed for the infobox. It would be helpful to have a list of those. As well the same goes for the parameters already in the infobox, a format for them would be useful, something like:

 • English/Kanij/Romaji/... name: String format
 • Jutsu class: Values ((Nin|Tai|Gen|Kin|...)jutsu, etc...), multiple input (checkboxes?)
 • Rank: A/B/C/D/E?/S, Dropdown
 • Range: Short "Short range (0-5m)", ...
 • Kekkei Genkai: Autocomplete on Category:Kekkei Genkai
 • Parent jutsu: Autocomplete on Category:Jutsu, multi-value?
 • Child jutsu: Autogenerate inverse using query " Parent jutsu::{{PAGENAME}"
 • Users: Complex input, Autocomplete on concept including Characters, Clans, Villages, Ranks, etc... And find a way to distinguish each and every one of these in a way that will let us generate proper lists in Character infoboxes.
 • ...
~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 18, 2009 @ 20:33 (UTC)

Snapper2, apparently Wikia has had Semantic Drilldown available but not noted that it's usable. I had uberfuzzy enable it here, so now you can use Special:BrowseData/Jutsu to filter down a list of Jutsu. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 19, 2009 @ 23:30 (UTC)

Kinjutsu, Hiden, Senjutsu are actually part of the Justu classification so they just act as part of the Nin/Tai/Gen justu list. I'll either use a listbox or a series of checkboxes. Property:Uses kekkei genkai isn't a boolean, it's a reference to a Kekkei genkai, It'll probably be a textbox which autocompletes on Category:Kekkei genkai. Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary and Short/Mid/Long will likely be either a dropdown or checkbox.

I don't know about the size of lists with listing individuals, but I suppose that would be ok, I might just truncate that list after a certain number (smw will automatically provide a link to a longer list). As for media differences, I do have plans to make some code that eliminates parenthesis in the item so that I can convert "Yumiko Kobayashi (drama CD, anime)" into "Yumiko Kobayashi" for the Voice actors. However I don't know how applicable that is to media differences, remember that we plan to exclude game jutsu from infobox lists (but include them in an extended list) so I may need to store a bit of information on that. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 20, 2009 @ 03:28 (UTC)

Snapper2, as well when citing something like in this edit please try to cite individual pieces of information using ref tags instead of creating a sources section. The latter doesn't specify what is actually referenced and can lead to a false believe that everything on the page is citeable and fact. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 17, 2009 @ 17:47 (UTC)

I know about the bug with refs vs. semantics. For now I just comment them out with <!-- Comment tags --> so that they can be included when we fix the issue. It's something that stems both from the generic setup of those infoboxes, as well as issues with markup added by ref tags being injected into semantic annotations. The new infobox already includes two separate inputs for various pieces of info that differ between part one and two which solves the issue we have about the generic infobox trying to annotate those values. I created a mini extension to fix the bug with refs (It basically creates a parser function that allows you to take some inputted wikitext that may have refs inside of it, and extracts the two parts (text, and refs) and lets you specify a pattern. Something like {{#negrefs:{}|$s$|$ref$|Rank::$s$$ref$}} would basically fix the issue by putting all the refs after the annotations. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 17, 2009 @ 23:38 (UTC)

Ah, yes

Hey, Snapper, I appreaciate that you're trying to help out the wikia and everything, but, as you can see, those images are already tagged. They're a special kind of tagging for liscense and rationale for fair use on images. Now, when you see an image that doesn't fit to the pedia, or it has an inappropriate content, then, you put [[Tlx|delete|2=quick=true}}. Put the reason if you want to. Also, my article of Flying Sparrow is a video game jutsu for Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3. You should look at it. :P -- Rasengan888 (talk)(Narutopedia Editor) 21:09, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Ah, thanks, I think you made the article much simpler and better. ^_^ --Rasengan888 (talk)(Narutopedia Editor) 21:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I did this pretty quickly (sorry...), so, can you tell Jacce about the fan art images and I'll set to work on the no tagged images. K? -- Rasengan888 (talk)(Narutopedia Editor) 21:19, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I see no problem with those tags. The images were only tagged for poor quality and/or license issues, Snapper added a bunch of tags for duplicate images. The latter is a different type of deletion case and normally warrants immediate deletion rather than sitting there with a tag. So I see no issue with adding them back. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Mar 2, 2009 @ 00:57 (UTC)

Hi Snapper2! The Jade Crystal "Octagonal"(I made a mistake) Seed is not a component of the Jade Crystal Labyrinth Technique. It is a separate seed for the technique. Could you please revert that? Thank you. --NejiByakugan360 15:56, 22 March 2009 (UTC) Please Respond on User Talk.

Hey Snapper2!

I don't want to be rude but i think is just not fair what u doing with Kiba's Page!!! I really tried to complete his page because i'm a his fan! And i hate u come and start erasing everything i put!!! So plz, i want u not to erase everything and leave only one line en each info! In the Three Tails i will short it! Just stop erasing everything ok?!

--Kiba91 04:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

haha nice swich there on Gaara's page thanksSand.reich (talk) 19:23, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, some parts may be useless such as in the Three Tails arc, but in others i think is important! For example, in The Hunt for Uchiha, i think that the line that says that Kiba impresses Kakashi is important because not everyone can do something like!!! Few characters do! While in Pain's invasion is important to say that he's still alive and he believes in Naruto (such as Hinata's info in Pain's Arc)

And with all the respect, if u r going to erase the "useless" info in Kiba's page, u better do it in all the characters because in all of them are useless information, but the difference between u & me is that i respect what others write in the pages and i don't leave only one line!

And in second, since when you decide which info is important and which isn't?

Sorry if i sound disrespecful or rude! But that's what i think! And i think u shoul respect what i do and what others do in Kiba's page! If u don't like something, tell me, or change it in a little or the best way, don't erase everythin!

--Kiba91 01:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

I just reedited the Three Tails Arrival arc, i did the best i could, i erase what it was useless and i rewrite what i think is important, i hope you leave the page how it is now. I think is great and has the main stuff! Hope you like it!

--Kiba91 03:22, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Didn't you just said me that if i think somethings is missing or i think is important, i can reedit? Well, i reedit (and i think i did a good job) the Three Tails arc for you to come and put ur $"%&·%/&/$% one paragraph! If u reedit from A to K, tell me something... 4 example, why in others abilities u leave like:

Abilities: 1.-Byakugan (info) 2.-Gentle Fist (info)

Such as in Hinata "Hyuga" or Neji "Hyuga", and i believe their surname begins with "g"... so, you leave that pages in that way but you erase the enhanced senses and Canine-Based Techniques and Taijutsu

Who gave you the right to do Kiba's page the way you want? If u repeat that Kiba impressed Kakashi, what is a big deal??? Well, you can put that Hinata or some other character believes and worries about Naruto but Kiba doesn't... well, that makes a lot of sense (sarcasm). Other thing is that u could believe is useless information, but may be for others that information it could be interesting! Who knows?

BTW, "he's my favorite character" is not a excuse, it's just the reason for 4 to complete in the best way Kiba's page!

Dude u took out a massive portion of his post death....thats explains evrythin he's done...what gives???U wud atleast need to discuss it in the talk page before u go,around takin out massive portions of an article.... --AlienGamer

Sysop for now...

Snapper2, since you've been doing a lot of work tagging junk for deletion so (partially because I'm to lazy to delete them myself, ;) heh) I'm going to give you a sysop flag for now, so you can actually just delete junk you come across. Wikia has finally given bureaucrats the ability to revoke sysop flags so I'm not as reluctant to give out a flag as I used to be.

Unlike TheUltimate3, Jacce, and ShounenSuki I haven't watched you for very long so I don't actually know how well you understand the policies on the wiki (especially since we never got around to writing down a lot of them), so it might be best to avoid the normal admin stuff and just use the sysop flag to help make the normal stuff you do to clean up the wiki easier. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 12, 2009 @ 09:00 (UTC)

Orphaned images

Not really, quite frankly most of us are to lazy to clean images out. If you want something to work on for starters you can delete a pile of the old images which aren't used in articles and are tagged for deletion. Avoid all out deleting of old images though. There are a few old logos and wiki related stuff we want to leave archived. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 12, 2009 @ 22:22 (UTC)

By the way... How is it that the 'upload new version of this image' thing doesn't work when I use it? Absolutly nothing happens, except if the file I uploaded a new version of was smaller, then the existing picture will just blow up to the size of the new file. Any fair use rationale or license I add doesn't show. Hakinu (talk) 19:31, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Edit: Aw, ok, looks like the file is shown in the article (but appears to be ignored in the image's page). The fair use rationale and stuff doesn't show. Groar! Hakinu (talk) 19:35, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Aw, you! You! Rawr! >:O Okay, I'll see what I can do. Hakinu talk | Contributions 18:41, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
 1. Decide if anything can be done with Category:Poor quality images. AlienGamer has this one covered
 2. Figure out why I haven't deleted everything at Special:UnusedFiles. Noooot completly sure what you want me to do here
 3. See if each image with a delete tag actually needs to be deleted. Check. Most of the images were unused Leafninja images linking to themselves with a deletion notice...
 4. Make sure all of the poor filename files have licensing and a rationale. Check
 5. Examine every image just for the hell of it. Not "Check" quite yet. <o<

Hakinu talk | Contributions 03:11, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Edit: 5. Examine every image just for the hell of it. Gone through once, but decided mid-way through that I was going to try and tag every darned image, so I have to go a new round. Tomorrow. Now I'm going out. Phew. Hakinu talk | Contributions 21:51, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

New jobs 2

I agree with 1 and 3, but even though the images' quality seems decent in the infoboxes, they need to be replaced. I don't have the films, so I can't replace number 1. Number 3 I can replace soon enough (I have to find the frame).

2 Since it was higher resolutioned, I chose to use File:3sannin.jpg and left File:Team Hiruzen.jpg unused.

4 About Shigure's image, I'm not so sure if I agree 100%. I'm a little fan of the weird one because it shows his ponytail, but on the other hand it's more important to show the face of the character. Meh, I'll replace it.

5 About Tenten's image, I disagree. The scrolls are important to Tenten as a character, and it shows more spirit than the other one (She needs it, if you ask me... I'm no Tenten-fan, heehee).

6 Been thinking the same thing, but Rasengan888's comments in the fair use rationale always made me forget about it because it was so amusing to read it xD I'll do it now, and find the replacement for the Leafninja picture asap.

7. Aww, but I like Tenzo's current picture. But yeah, valid argument. I hope it's okay I put it further down in the article, just to have it there. I hope your tingeling after deleting it can withstand it.
