Chapter 545 Stuff

  1. F (エフ, Efu)
  2. Spiralling Turmoil Spheres (螺旋乱眼, Rasen Rangan)
  3. Spiralling Absorption Sphere (螺旋吸眼, Rasen Kyūgan)
  4. Mini Spiralling Shuriken (ミニ螺旋手裏剣, Mini Rasen Shuriken)

ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 21:21, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

Could you do that for every weeks chapter? Cause there are often things like the Banbutsu Sōzō issue, that are overseen by the translators... anyways, thanks for the confirmation :] Seelentau 愛 21:34, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

about this as well could you translate what Shizune and Sakura's conversation and that bit B says after Naruto uses the Rasen Kyūgan. We (well me) kinda held off on adding exact information until we could verify it with you and the raw since people have been adding Mokuton to Zetsu's infobox and we're not sure if it should be.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 13:30, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

Here you go:
Sakura: "…It became even more similar to Captain Yamato than at the time of the Five Kage Summit!!" (「…五影会談の時よりヤマト隊長に近くなってる!!」)
Shizune: "In other words… This… This is almost identical to the Shodai Hokage's individual make-up!" (「つまり…これ…初代火影の個人配列とほぼ変われなくなってる…やっぱりそうだったんだ!」)
Akimichi: "What are you talking about?! What do those white things have to do with the Shodai Hokage?" (「何の話だ!?この白いのと初代火影が何だって?」)
Sakura: "In short, the white guys are copies of the Shodai-sama! Or rather, judging by the numbers, they are moving clone plants, created by cultivating the Shodai-sama's cells and using plants as a medium! They may be weak, but they use Mokuton!" (「つまりこの白い奴は初代火影様の分身体!というよりこの数からして初代様の細胞を培養し植物を媒体に造られた動くクローン植物って事!うすまって弱いけど木遁を使うし!」)
Akimichi: "Hmmmm… Hn?! …I don't quite understand…!" (「ん〰〰〰〰…ん!?…よく分からん…!」)
Sakura: "Anyhow… Judging from this data, Captain Yamato is also being used as a power-up for these guys!" (「とにかく…このデータから見てヤマト隊長もこいつらのパワーアップに利用されているんだ!」)
Shizune: "Contact headquarters immediately!" (「すぐに本部に連絡するよ!」)
And B says:
"The Mokuton is influenced by Naruto's attack… They're turning back into trees? Just like that time, hm……" (「ナルトの攻撃で木遁が影響を受け…木にもどってるのか?あの時と同じだな……」)

Bijuu

Were all Bijuu captured by Hashirama or only a few? What does the RAW say about this? Should be on page 14 in chapter 414. :] Seelentau 愛 23:39, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks :) That means, they hadn't all Bijū under control, right? ^_^
Also, on the Tailed Beasts page is said: However, after Hashirama's death, the villages had trouble containing these giant demons themselves and they began to run wild, so the villages instead moved to seal the Tailed Beasts within humans. That means, Hashirama gave them and they were roaming free in the countries? Or what? ô.o Seelentau 愛 15:07, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
Okay. But I was told that you can answer my question here, since you put that sentence in the article. Seelentau 愛 16:52, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Japanese wikipedia again

I was looking through the Japanese Wikipedia article on Naruto jutsu, and I came across with what appears to be the name for some collaboration techniques for the Magaki Group. The thing is, we never heard the names of many of those techniques in the anime. The fact the description of the techniques match lends a bit of credibility, but there's something that doesn't quite fit. The kanji they have for Mugen Hōyō is completely different, and appears to have no connection with the English sub. I remember we only learned the group's name because it was listed so in a reliable site, either you or Seelentau providing the translation at the time. Any idea if there was a site with those names, or some other reliable source? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:19, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

So, Deva game a time frame for one of those episodes, and the sound for one of the techniques definitely matches. Assuming the other ones will fit as well, the kanji and rōmaji are: 疾風迅雷 (Shippūjinrai), 電光石火 (Denkōsekka), 無炎方陽 (Muenhōyō) (this and the multiple this are the ones I said don't match the ones we have), and 諸行無常 (Shogyōmujō). Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:14, July 2, 2011 (UTC)
Shippūjinrai should be about 15 minutes into episode 145 (it's supposed to be this according to the article), the sound matches, and it's quite fortunate that they kinda show the kanji in their hands, though the angles are kinda odd. Shogyōmujō is in the first couple scenes of episode 151. No kanji there, but the pronunciation is clear too. This one is supposed to be this. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 15:24, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
How accurate would it be to call Shogyō Mujō "Impermanence of Worldly Things"? The literal, literal translation sounds more like a sentence. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:31, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Red Secret Technique: Machinery Triangles

So its Japanese name for sure hasn't colon?--LeafShinobi (talk) 08:45, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

It's difficult to say. I checked over all the instances of the [colour] Secret Techniques and I can't quite find any consistency:
  • 黒秘技機々一発 (ch.214, p.10)
  • 白秘技・
    十機近松の集 (ch.272, p.11)
  • 赤秘技・
    百機の操演 (ch.272, p.15)
  • 赤秘技
    機々三角 (ch.464, p.13)
  • 黒秘技
    山椒魚 (ch.518, p.8)
  • 黒秘技——
    機々三発 (ch.518, pp.14–15)
Judging by Kishimoto-sensei's naming style, I think it will be the style with the ・ that will end up being the correct one. This is also the style used in the last databook. I would suggest changing all the names to this style — for the sake of consistency — and leave a note in the trivia explaining the situation for those techniques that haven't been given the ・. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 11:34, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
But Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot was written as 黒秘技機々一発 also in databook, am I right? Are you going to move it as well?--LeafShinobi (talk) 16:47, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
I'm still thinking about what I would consider the best solution. Perhaps it's better to just stick to how they were officially named, after all. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:43, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

Nine Tails Chakra Mode (九尾チャクラモード, Kyūbi Chakura Mōdo) Which article I can use it in? Dekoshu talk contrib 21:16, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

This is what I did:

I combined the Kanji for Nine Tails, with the Katakana for Chakra and another Katakana for mode, thus making Nine Tails Chakra Mode.

  • 九尾
  • チャクラ
  • モード

The manga didn't mention it or something like that? It's not accurate then? I actually did read the manga.Dekoshu talk contrib 23:30, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

Could you see what B calls it on first page of chapter 538? B calls it Nine-Tails Chakra Mode in the Mangastream translation.--Deva 27 23:50, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

Now that's something useful. He actually does call it Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (九尾チャクラモード, Kyūbi Chakura Mōdo) there. He also calls it [{translation|Tailed Beast Chakra Mode|尾獣チャクラモード|Bijū Chakura Mōdo}} around the time of the Bijūdama training. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 01:06, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 546 Stuff

As the raw isn't out yet, none of this is confirmed. All of it is taken from the spoilers, so it might change as soon as I get my hands on a raw.

  • The title is Confrontation of the Old and New Kage!! (新旧影対決!!, Shinkyūkage Taiketsu!!)
  • Toroi (トロイ). This name means 'slow', both of body and of mind.
  • Magnet Release (磁遁, Jiton) and magnetism (磁力, jiryoku).
  • Gold dust (砂金, sakin). This word literally means 'sand gold', similar to how iron sand (砂鉄, satetsu) literally means 'sand iron'. The raw makes no mention of the Fourth Kazekage's gold dust ability being Jiton, by the way.
  • Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique (塵遁・原界剥離の術, Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu).

ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 16:25, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

Just a side note, is it ok to be listing Sandaime Kazekage as a Jiton user? I know Chiyo said it was his alone and all...--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 16:38, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

I'd list him, but I would note the fact it hasn't been confirmed yet. Also, as I said above, the Fourth Kazekage's technique hasn't been confirmed as Jiton. It also wouldn't be likely for him to be a Jiton user, as gold isn't actually magnetic. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 16:43, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
I was wondering about the non-magnetic properties of gold and all, I'll remove it. Thanks.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 16:54, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
I thought it could magnetize objects or metal.Umishiru (talk) 17:04, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
It's kind of hard to explain plainly but lets say that magnetism is like the Deva Path using Banshō Ten'in, gold uses Shinra Tensei hence it doesn't really get magnetised or attracted to magnets. I hope that helped :s--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 17:10, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

NOTE: Shounen, given the trouble this'll cause regarding edits in the foreseeable future until we get a raw, I've opted to re-add the info about the magnetism, given the english translations and all. I think it'll be easier to remove if it turns out not to be true more than anything else.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 17:55, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

Good idea, but it might be smart to add the uncertainty about it. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 18:07, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

How can "砂金" literally meaning "sand dust" if "金" is kanji for "gold" (or "metal")? Anyway should we list Magnetism Release not only as akekkei genkai and also as a chakra nature in Third and Fourth's infoboxes and on thei techniques' pages?--LeafShinobi (talk) 19:45, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

>< Typo… —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 20:15, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
Alright, I've gotten my hands on a raw, which means everything is now confirmed ^^ The Fourth Kazekage does indeed use Jiton, by the way. At least according to the Third Raikage. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 09:21, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
The literal translation for "Jiton" is "Magnet" release as well?--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 12:13, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
I would like to take a look at that as well. From the kanji used, it seems that the nature can also be called "magnetic force/power". Not really sure about the difference, but if the more correct term would be Magnet Release, then a few things need to be edited and moved. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:42, July 12, 2011 (UTC)
磁 refers to the general concept of magnetism and can therefore be translated as both 'magnet' and 'magnetism'. 磁力 refers specifically to the force that draws objects towards a magnet, which can be said as both 'magnetic force' and 'magnetism'. Personally, to avoid getting way to technical, I'd suggest translating 磁力 as 'magnetism' and 磁遁 as 'Magnet Release'. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 11:15, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Game names translation

Hi. I need some help with translations of game only Jutsu. I did this by myself, but can't figure out what would be the best translation of 豪放磊落 in English. Also, if it's okay, I will post some other terms from time to time, sinde I'm checking some youtube videos for game Jutsu.^^ Seelentau 愛 17:11, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

Hence the crossed sentences. :] Seelentau 愛 23:23, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
Indeed, that's it. Thanks again :) Also, do you got your hands on a RAW yet and/or do you have some new info regarding a new Databook? I think you're closer to any possible source than I am... Seelentau 愛 00:02, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

Blood Prison info?

Anything we don't know in this? Looks like it was a promo in the page before chapter 546. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 03:40, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

Old info is everything we already have in articles related to that movie. We already have an article on Mui, and from what I remember on the film's site, there are two other movie characters who were named: a prisoner, and someone who looks like a guard. Not sure if we already have an article on the location itself. We also have an article on the technique, though it's currently marked as unnamed. Would you say Imprisonment Technique is the type of technique, much like Reincarnation Ninjutsu and Chakra Absorption Technique are, and that Heavenly Prison is the technique's actual name? Read strings

I'm interested in read strings in this manga. I also think may manga fans are. For example I read about young boy and man and how boy trow rock on girl and latter he marries that girl who has scar on her eye brown because of the rock. So I am interested what's your oppinion because kishi always makes Naruto for some reasons get in way with Hinata even if he makes in part two sakura and naruto spending much time together, I cant read trow his game. As if he is trying to tell us that Hinat and Naruto are suitable one for another but he is trying to decive us by making sakura and naruto being together. As if that stupid rule of tsunder girl being girlfriend of main caracter isn't wrong interpreted. Animal District

Can you help with this? This is said about 11:40. Also, could you find Japanese name for Four Ninja Animal Warriors (about 16:23)?--LeafShinobi (talk) 19:25, July 12, 2011 (UTC)

Can you give the name for Training Ground Zero (02:07)?--LeafShinobi (talk) 15:00, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Excuse me

橄欖 = Olive

When I used some translations, it said olive. Yet, in a couple or few websites, it says "used as an incorrect translation". I don't get it. Aren't they both translatable in Chinese and Japanese? Aren't they both correct? Dekoshu talk contrib 18:59, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

In Tangorin, the first one was Chinese white olive. In the same site, the second one is olive, but has a note. "Used as an incorrect translation". It has nothing to do with Naruto. Dekoshu talk contrib 19:16, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

I was waiting for you the whole time, and decided to undo my message to you, after you were busy with something else. Dekoshu talk contrib 20:58, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

I expect nothing from you. But thank you for your help, ShouenSuki. Does that mean they're different but both translated correctly? Like the actual Japanese name for Olive is オリーブ, but sometimes 橄欖 can also be used? Since they fixed this, that means the kanji that is also used in Chinese can mean the same with Japanese, right? Dekoshu talk contrib 22:35, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I really got it now. So in Japanese only, Kanran would refer only to the Chinese white olive, while in Chinese, it does translate to olive. Thanks. Dekoshu talk contrib 22:47, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, though. Dekoshu talk contrib 23:10, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, then. Then Olive is translated with Katakana instead of kanji which particularly refers to the Chinese white olive, then. I won't repeat it. Thanks. Dekoshu talk contrib 23:13, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

I don't feel like explaining it. Dekoshu talk contrib 17:51, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Gold trade

You rather don't have RAW for the last chapter, have you? When you have it, could you tell me if Suna council tals about trading 'gold' or 'gold dust'? Anyway, when Kazekage told Yashamaru to test Gaara, did he told about evacuating citizens?--LeafShinobi (talk) 21:23, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. Anyway, do you know what A means telling about Minato putting out Kumo's mission to retrieve Nine-Tails (ch. 542, p. 13)?--LeafShinobi (talk) 20:04, July 14, 2011 (UTC)
Was Kushina already jinchūriki there?--LeafShinobi (talk) 20:12, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Aother question. Do you think that Suna Council member who told about gold dust trading and developing new techniques can be Jōseki?--LeafShinobi (talk) 20:21, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Nothing much this week, except:

Gaara's sand

I have recently suggested making a tool article the sand Gaara keeps with him at all times, to make it consistent with similar articles such as Iron Sand and Gold Dust. Seelentau has already given me the term Deidara used to describe this special sand. This is the only instance I can remember when Gaara's sand was specifically called something other than sand. Are there any others? Also, just to confirm, would the term Seelentau found be translated as "Specially-made Sand" or something like that? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 14:49, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

You said that Kankurō used sand as well. When did he do that? The only sand-related thing I remember Kankurō doing is following Deidara and Sasori through bits of Gaara sand armour. Any other instances of other characters using sand? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:40, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Naruto/Shizune

I asked you once did Naruto in manga also calls Shizune "nee-chan". Did he ever talked with her besides of Search for Tsunade Arc?--LeafShinobi (talk) 19:30, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Is then any possibility that he called her like that during this arc?--LeafShinobi (talk) 18:22, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Avenger

I already wrote this in the discussion page, but since i read that you're the wiki's resident translator, i was hoping that you could fill me in on two questions: first, what was the title Madara refered Sasuke during his talk with Naruto, Kakashi and Yamato? Was it an avatar of vengeance or just as an avenger. Second is it worth putting as a title in Sasuke's infobox, like the way Naruto is reffered as the Saviour. Thank you in advance. Darksusanoo (talk) 06:39, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

It was in chapter 462, page 9. Darksusanoo (talk) 16:31, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the clear up...i was thinking he refered to his as an avatar of vengeance...but if it's like that you're right...thanks for the translation. Darksusanoo (talk) 16:43, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Karura's death

Could you translate what exactly Gaara said in ch. 97, p. 10 about his mother?--LeafShinobi (talk) 18:25, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

But do you think that means "a human sacrifice was needed" to seal Shukaku (from Gaara's article)?--LeafShinobi (talk) 18:59, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Translation

Could you translate the Jutsu page for Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind? I want to know what the original says, because in the German version it is stated that Gamabunta's oesophagus is summoned. It's on page 210 in the Tō no Sho. Seelentau 愛 18:55, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Also, please translate the Kibaku Nendo page in the Sha no Sho, cause in the German version it states that the clay is exploding clay, even before it is fused with his Chakra... Seelentau 愛 21:35, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, okay :D I have to thank you, again :) btw, a more random question: Do you have some dates that aren't well known in the Naruto fanbase? I mean, dates that are only mentioned in some special books or interviews or so? Seelentau 愛 22:42, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
Also, do you think that the Kaeru Kaeru technique uses Inton? The German Sha no Sho say, that it uses the imagination of the user. And Inton IS usage of imagintion. Seelentau 愛 14:23, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
Ah, another question, about the normal Yōton: Did anyone ever said that 熔遁 and 溶遁 describe the same thing? I mean, who said it isn't like the two Jinton? Seelentau 愛 14:54, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Weird Mask Blast Flames

It's a video game technique, used by Kakuzu in the Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 game. I found an image of it with the Japanese name, but it's very hard to make out the name. Of the five characters in its name, I managed to get four of them getting "Mask * Blaze" (仮面ノ*炎, Kamen no *en). I tried editing the image in various ways manipulating sharpness, but I lose detail on the kanji when I zoom it or make it too much sharp. Could you try seeing what the kanji might be? I could almost get what the hiragana were for the fourth kanji, it kinda looks like は or ほ, but because of the image quality, I can't see it has dakuten or handakuten. New Page

I am about to create a new page that features the barrier technique that Nagato used to protect Konan and Yahiko from an explosion near the end of Shippuden episode #172 and I just wanted to ask you a few questions:

1. Is this technique actualy Shinra Tensei?

2. Would "Rinnegan Kekkai no Jutsu" be an appropriate translation for "Rinnegan Barrier Technique"?

3. Would this be the appropriate kanji: 輪廻眼結界の術?

4. Did it appear in the manga and if so, what chapter?

Please answer these or at least redirect them to someone who will. Thank you. Dueler65 (talk) 10:51, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, it was Shinra Tensei. I thought that Nagato could only use Shinra Tensei through Tendō but then I saw him do it there. Thanks for answering all my questions by the way.

Hey, Suki-senpai, sorry for bothering you, but I was wondering if you'll be able to translate this for me. The kanji should be big enough for you to translate them, and if not, I think I can get a bigger one. And... Well, I also wanted to ask you to translate two other doujinshis and a few pages from a previous doujinshi that I found out had more pages. I know you're busy, so when you're free, let me know. For now, can you pretty please translate the one I gave you? Message me back when you're free--NinjaSheik 19:27, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Wow! That was fast, and you know about the website! Thanks a lot, Suki-senpai! You're such a great translator and friend!

Okay, the two other ones are this and this. Pixiv is a site I don't usually go to since it's hard to search around it because everything is in Japanese. I found a long time ago and when I sister found it, I started searching there again. I found one of the doujinshi you already translated for me had more pages. It's this one. Since you already translated the pages I gave you, can you translate the other one that I missed? It's pages 2, 3, 10, and 12.

You don't have to rush, I know it must be kinda hard translating Japanese and stuff, and you're busy with official stuff for the Narutopedia. I'm not in a rush, so take your time and thanks again!--NinjaSheik 19:06, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hiya, Suki-senpai! Just checking in! I hope you're almost done translating the doujinshis soon! The two other doujinshi might take you a while, but I wanted to see if you finished translating the doujinshi with the pages I missed, since it was only four and din't have a lot of kanji on it.--NinjaSheik 18:07, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yay~!! Thank you, Suki-senpai! And just in time before school starts! And sorry for the, um, edit argument yesterday! Got carried away. Hehehe... ^__^'

Anyway, thank you very much! :)--NinjaSheik 16:28, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

Sasuke's Affinity

I know this was probably solved way earlier, but I would like some clarification. It has been mentioned that most Uchiha members have the Fire affinity, but was Sasuke outright mentioned to have the Lightning affinity? Is that what Kakshi meant when he said Sasuke is the same "type" as him? Many are assuming an advanced nature should mean one has an affinity to the component natures, but this could either prove it right or wrong. Thanks! --GoDai (talk) 05:29, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hm so for now do we have no idea about what Kakashi meant when said something about Sasuke's "type"? Anything else that hints at his affinity and/or ability to learn new natures? --GoDai (talk) 19:46, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Asuma's affinity

Was it said that wind is his affinity, or simply chakra nature??--LeafShinobi (talk) 19:37, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Deva Path, Shinra Tensei, and Banshō Ten'in

What was the exact term used to refer to the Deva Path's attraction and repulsion abilities? I remember before, we often used the term "gravity," which I couldn't exactly find in the raws and it didn't make a lot of sense for the repulsion part. I can see how it would work for Chibaku Tensei though. Could you provide me with a summary of how his abilities are referred to as in Japanese? Also, would "Heaven Release (天遁; Tenton)" be a plausible theory, with the Tendō's ability being manipulating "heavenly forces"? --GoDai (talk) 21:15, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Oh excellent, that's better than I had hoped for. I was thinking maybe the Deva Path ability of the Rinnegan could be an advanced Nature Transformation (similar to Blaze Release), and due to the revelations of explosive and magnetic chakra being Explosion and Magnetism Releases respectively, this makes it more possible. "Heaven" was one of my first ideas I had for Wind+Lightning, and now that I've linked it to the Deva Path, it seems to make even more sense, related to the pushing and pulling effects seen in Wind, and Lightning could be related to charges, as well as Lightning being intended to replace the heavenly element, Void 空, in the original Godai. Thanks! --GoDai (talk) 01:58, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 548 Stuff

  • Title: Naruto vs. Itachi!! (ナルトVSイタチ!!, Naruto Bāsasu Itachi!!).
  • Karura's name is still written as 加瑠羅.
  • Yashamaru is definitely said to be a member of the Suna ANBU and the Fourth Kazekage's right-hand man.
  • I haven't a clue what the Second Mizukage is doing to the seal fuda, but the sound effect — ジワ (jiwa) — indicates some form of liquid being involved: it usually indicates tears welling up.
  • My translation of the Second Mizukage's comment about his using Inton doesn't change: "I'm a Yin Release… in other words, a genjutsu user!" (「オレは陰遁…つまり幻術使いだ!」, "Ore wa Inton… tsumari genjutsu tsukai da!").
    • His summon is a giant clam (蜃, ōhamaguri). Although simply called 'giant clam', the kanji is actually the name for a mythical giant clam and ususally pronounced as 'shin' in Japanese ('shèn' or 'chèn' in Chinese). This shin is actually a kind of aquatic, shape-shifting dragon in the form a giant clam. It is said to be able to cause mirages and Fata Morganas. In fact, its name has become almost synonymous with 'mirage': in Japanese, the word for 'mirage' is 蜃気楼 (shinkirō; Literally meaning "shin breath tower").
  • My translation for what the Third Raikage says about attacking Doton users also remains the same: "I'm a Raiton user! I'll be attacking the Doton users in the front row like no tomorrow!!" (「ワシは雷遁を使う!土遁の忍を前列に置きワシの攻めたてろ!!」, Washi wa Raiton o tsukau! Doton no shinobi o zenretsu ni oki washi no semetatero!!).
  • Rock Clone Technique (岩分身の術, Iwa Bunshin no Jutsu).

About the upcoming film:

  • Mui's technique is called Heavenly Prison (天牢, Tenrō) and it is an Imprisonment Technique (禁錮術, Kinkojutsu).
  • Mui (無為) is still the master (主, aruji) of the Demon Lamp Castle (鬼灯城, 鬼燈城, Hōzuki-jō). The name of the castle is written in two different ways.
  • The boy with the white hair and the bandanna is called Ryūsetsu (竜舌), which literally means 'dragon's tongue'. Although I can only read 'Ryūsetsu', I think it should be 'Ryūzetsu', though, as that would be the proper pronunciation of 舌.
    • He apparently became a prisoner to kill 'a certain man', even if he had to risk his life to do so. He's described as a "mysterious shinobi, burning with revenge."
  • There's going to be a special feature called: A Chūnin Exam of Flames! Naruto vs. Konohamaru!! (炎の中忍試験!ナルトVS木ノ葉丸!!, Honō no Chūnin Shiken! Naruto Bāsasu Konohamaru!!)

Death and Life

Did you made an image of hypothetical Life Release and Death Release? VolteMetalic (talk) 18:38, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Ahh, but I thought you did... hmm, nevermind that than.VolteMetalic (talk) 22:14, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

If it wont bother you, you can :) VolteMetalic (talk) 22:53, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

And, when you can, you should also make a one for Forge Release. With this kanji 築, and color... probably grey with yellow/orange center. Probably a sort of combination of Earth and Yang. Not that you must use, it is for my own use. Or if you know a better translation for "forge", meaning the crafting of the weapons and tools.VolteMetalic (talk) 11:55, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

And what is... pronunciation of 鍛 ? And what would be the final Japanese name of the Forge Release than? Because apparently word "forge" is not easy word in Japan :D

Ah, yes. All three are kekkei genkai. You can use Death and Life as you want, for example to fill the kekkei tota box on your page. Forge is kekkei genkai for sure.VolteMetalic (talk) 13:31, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I noticed the difference between kekkei genkai and kekket tota. For Life release, just durious, why you choose red and green? I dont say its bad or not, I am just curious :) And the Forge looks good :) So Tanren and Tanton. Okay, its actually 4th version,a nd with your great help, final :D The woman who is actually behind the Forge Release, will be happy, especially when you made the icon for it :D Thank you a lot :) And can I ask you for yet another icon, for a clan? VolteMetalic (talk) 19:37, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

I see, that makes sense.

You will have it pretty easier :) I already drew the concept. Here it is (dont mind the character's bad appearance, especially the head, I am not a good artist :D), the circle above the helmet is the symbol of the clan. Just like this. The colors, these two "faces" are based on two characters from Star Wars Clone Wars TV cartoon, Daughter and Son. For the backstory of the clan, the symbol comes from the first childs of the clan, who were a twins. The woman became kind and protective, but her brother wanted to rule them with power, and instead searched for ways how to increase his power, eventually signing with Shinigami to be his servant (dont mind that Shinigami, as Death Spirit, isnt evil or good). His sister, knowing this and what was about to come, started training best she could. One day they meet and fight for few days, until brother is defeated. When she holds him in her arms, he asks her for forgiveness, and she forgives her, and when he dies she makes him a shrine. When she gets old, she asks her children and people to build another shrine for her next to her brother's so they can rest in peace together. So the clan than took as its symbol the depiction of these two, the strongest members of the clan in the history.

Enough for backstory, it probably bores you :D So for the colors, the left half (sister) would be light green to light yellow, with brighter light green on her hair (above and beside eyes), the mouth... maybe also green, or pink. And eyes... yellow or green, maybe jade, or blue. For right half (brother), ti would be light grey, the eyes would be bright red with blood red on the painting above the eyes and the teeth would be little yellow than white, just a little. I am not totally sure about the colors yet. The circle around the faces and line crossing them is white. VolteMetalic (talk) 20:40, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Is it a good description? The icon would be just black and white, I would paint it than by myself.VolteMetalic (talk) 07:15, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you :) Can it be resized to 150 × 150, and with little thicker lines? For the colors... the left side. The background (skin of the face) should be some sort of light green... tea green (#D0F0C0) or celadon (#ACE1AF). The hair and eyes should be more contrast green... something between forest green (#228B22) and emerald (#50C878)... no, just emerald. And the lips/mouth should be some sort of pink. The right side, the background/skin should be some sort of light grey, close to white. The eyes and lines above them should be of blood red, like darker red. And the teeth should be very dark grey, close to black, or unhealthy yellow. The color of teeth are really hard to decide on... forget the dark grey, unhealthy yellow (yellow, with little green and brown, simply to look like the person dont brushes them). VolteMetalic (talk) 18:44, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering, how to make "another user page" like you have a page with your images, and still it is your user page. How to do this? VolteMetalic (talk) 10:25, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Dōjutsu

I was taking a look at video game techniques names, and LeafShinobi brought to my attention the kanji used in the term "dōjutsu", which isn't the same as the one used in Sharingan, Byakugan and Rinnegan. Doesn't that kanji specifically refer to the pupil instead of the entire organ? If so, wouldn't it be more accurate to translate it as "pupil technique"? Naruto's first epithet... can you help me?

Hi, there. Sorry to bother you, but can I ask you a favor? I think we should add Naruto's epithet, "Konoha's Number One Most Unpredictable Knucklehead Ninja" to his list of alias. So far, Omnibender and NinjaSheik aproved that idea. The thing is... I only know the english version of this, I don't know how to write it in Japanese. The only sources I could find so far were episode 13 and 14 from the anime, Part 1 (chapters 23 to 26 of the manga).

Confining the Jinchūriki Arc

I don't know if you're the one to talk to about these so if you're not could you please pass this on to whomever is and if you are, could you please fix them:

  • On the Confining the Jinchūriki Arc talk page, it has a link to an archive but the link doesn't work. I'd fix it myself but I don't know what the archive is actually called so could you please fix it.
  • On the actual Confining the Jinchūriki Arc page, it says that the arc ends on Chapter 514 but the last event it mentions as happening in the CTJ Arc happens in Chapter 516. I was about to change it to ending in Chapter 514 but had a hidden message type thing telling me not to. Any ideas why there would be a misunderstanding about this?

Also Kishi said he watch movies, teak references from Japanese history and watch theater, so he didn't figured out everything alone he just colect data and puzzles it from information he gets from watch and read material. Also I think he lies (if) he said(ever) that he doesn't read because there is a lot of phylosophy. If he has to make 17 to 20 pages manga wit 4 to 6 pictures in every page than he draws 68 to 120 pictures max, not including pges with only one picture, so he has to divide his time, Wednesday when manga comes out or day before when its published he colect data fits in story, than 7 days each day 3 to 4 pages...He make time to time breaks so he could make the story and than folowss it...So bye... YamatoTakeru (talk) 15:24, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

In japanese mythology and history they charish the nature. The same is with kishi. He likes nature symbols in names and so. So a cloud ninja represente a cloud. A Hinata represente Sunny area. So when cloud blocks the Sun there is no Sunny area, so that is it. Everything else I wrote is just Kishi strategy how he do it...Bye...

Here is one very stupid anegcdote abouth Hedad cloud ninja whom I hate. The word in Englis sinsiter has origin in latin from word sinister wich means left diferent from word dexter wich means rihght on latin. The sinister means evil because acient latins tought left handed people are bad (at least I think). So when he abducted Hinata he was holding her with his right hand. When in anime Hiashi atacked Head cloud ninja, Head cloud ninja was sinister, because he used his left hand to defend himself, and failed due to Hiashi's speed...So bye... Ok it was a joke but one thing interest me. Why is Head cloud ninja right eye covered. I mena why not left. Kakashi's left eye is covered with diference, he wears his headband normaly and just drop little of head band clothe on his left eye. With gashira is different he is waering all his head band over his right eye, with rope on his left side making head band probably not to fall. When I alalized him it is injteresting how metal on his hadband who is covering his right eye is making him look interesting, like insted of eye he is havig something shiny, but when you flip image for 180 deegrece you will see in his face when he is first shown something sinister. When I can't read what people face says from first look i rotate it and I see try it, because I don't know is it just me or everybody(picture that we se is rotated but it doesn't have imporatce here) Maybe kishi wanted to make story goes the man without an eye trying to kidnap girl with doijutso, or kunogakure had killed some Hyuga in battle and had an eye and just needed living huyga so they can study how to use it. There is some hidden conctino beatween his eye, maybe he has sharingan, and maybe Hiashi sama killde him quickly because he was powerful 8he used bykugan and saw it, don't underestimate anime, they probally ask Kishi first), and maybe he was just long rage fighter. Who knows 90% he is using raiton, 30% he is using some cloud jutsu, and there is posibillyty he uses some jutsu for making people sleep, because Hinata wasn't that kind asleep so he could take her so easy... So I'm wise with table pool (biliar) because I hold stick for pool in left hand when I'm shooting the balls...Have you ever played table pool? The greatest genious in my country was expert in table pool, it's geometry. Practically if he was a ninja he would be good of lightning because he was able to hold lightning in his hands. Some people at my home brag about he is so important, because computers, mobile etc electrical stuff couldn't work without his inventions... What do you think about Calusari?

Orochimaru's epithet

Uhm so I was perusing the Sannin article and noticed that Orochimaru was called the White Snake but it wasn't in his infobox. I'm not entirely sure if he was ever called such. Anyways, if you know of where it was said and could produce some kanji and rōmaji that'd be awesome. I'll continue looking for it as well.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 03:10, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I realised that there's been reference to white snakes and him but he's never been called such. Thanks much but I won't be using it since there's no validity to it.^^--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 15:25, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Aburame enquiry

I was wondering, it's stated that Shino has an odd way of speaking asking questions and then answering them and such and I remember reading somewhere that the Aburame are constantly having conversations with their bugs and such. What I want to ask is whether or not Shibi, Torune and Muta speak in a curious manner as well O.o?--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 00:31, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, well thanks for clearing that up I'll edit his article to include the information you just gave me. But for reference could you translate a part of his conversation with that example in it. I think it'd help me to get a better idea of what you mean.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 13:15, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Itachi's last words

I know that this is an old question and that the translation of this line is also present in the page of Itachi [(Last words to Sasuke) "Forgive me Sasuke… …It ends with this." (「許せサスケ……これで最後だ」, "Yuruse Sasuke… …Kore de saigo da.")] but someone recently has said that "saigo 最後" merely means "final" and so the translation to "This is it" is more accurate. Can you confirm it? Thanks for your attention ;)--JK88 (talk) 18:37, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the answer :)--JK88 (talk) 08:16, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

Amaterasu Shield possible name

In chapter 463, page 15, bottom right panel, Karin describes Amaterasu Shield as "Black Flames Shield"/"Shield of Black Flames" (黒炎の盾, Kokuen no Tate). Is it a viable name for the technique? Or is it more like a description, similar to how we have kanji and rōmaji for Black Lightning, despite considering it unnamed? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:01, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

But should it be marked as unnamed? The print kanji for black lightning were there, and we still mark it as unnamed. And what would be the most appropriate translation? "Black Flames Shield" or "Shield of Black Flames"? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:16, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Ryūzetsu

Can you confirm the gender of this character from any of the info you have, the name perhaps? I know you used a male pronoun to refer to the character prior to this but I just want to make sure, especially since I'm not sure after seeing some of the trailers.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 00:16, August 2, 2011 (UTC)

Fire Lightning and Water

So, one of the things I managed to connect with these three is a holy quality, which is seem in many religions. GoDai suggested me to use the holiness of it in a way of purification or cleansing as a proxy for the holiness. I have a very loose idea on what this combination would do, which is kinda separating stuff, or removing things from something else. I found several words for it, it seems they're used for different kinds of purification, in different contexts:

  • 斎戒 (Saikai)
  • 精製 (Seisei)
  • 浄化 (Jōka)
  • 純化 (Junka)

Are any of them appropriate for this idea, are there other words which might better fit it? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 13:58, August 2, 2011 (UTC)

Any chance there's a word which has both 浄 and 純 in it, either 浄純 or 純浄, similar to the word you gave me for Soul Release, 魂魄 (Konpaku)?

Land of Keys Icon

Would you mind making an icon for the Land of Keys? Y'know, like those ones for the other minor countries with silver backgrounds and their kanji. Dueler65 (talk) 14:07, August 2, 2011 (UTC)

Well, it's an anime only country that is mentioned in loads of pages on thw iki that is said to house the Jōmae Village. If it wasn't actually mentioned then we should be deleting it from the wiki

P.S. Your page has something with it (I think, it's either your page or my computer). Instead of loading the white background for the main section of the page like most pages it doesn't and just has a load of Leaf Village symbols. Dueler65 (talk) 22:25, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 550 Stuff

  • Titel: 'Kotoamatsukami' (別天神, Kotoamatsukami)
  • Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan's strongest genjutsu: Kotoamatsukami (別天神, Kotoamatsukami)

Both could possibly also be 'Kotoamatsugami', but the text is too low-res for me to make it out clearly. Now for a little mythology lesson:

The Kotoamatsukami (別天津神; Literally meaning "Distinguished Heavenly Gods") is a group of five gods that appeared at the beginning of the universe. When the Heavens and Earth were created, three of these gods came down from the Takamagahara (高天原; Literally meaning "High Heavenly Plains") as so-called 'single gods' (独神, hitorigami): gods that did not appear as a husband-wife duo. These three gods are called the 'Three Gods of Creation' (造化の三神, Zōka no Sanshin) and where:

  1. Ame-no-Minakanushi-no-Kami (天之御中主神), the supreme god.
  2. Takamimusuhi-no-Kami (高御産巣日神), the god of conquest and rule.
  3. Kamimusuhi-no-Kami (神産巣日神), the god of birth.

After them, when the land was formed and sea was rising to the surface, two more gods appeared:

  1. Umashiashikabihikoji-no-Kami (宇摩志阿斯訶備比古遅神)
  2. Ame-no-Tokotachi-no-Kami (天之常立神)

These five gods have a special place among the Heavenly Gods (天津神, Amatsukami), hence their name: Distinguished Heavenly Gods (別天津神, Kotoamatsukami). After them came the 'Seven Generations of the Age of Gods' (神世七代, Kamiyo Nanayo), the last of which were Izanagi and Izanami, who were responsible for creating the Japanese archipelago.

And now you know. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 11:30, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Could you move Koto Amatsukami to the proper name please.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 14:07, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

I trust that you are working on an 'svg for Shisui's eye oui?--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 15:05, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

I had already uploaded it when you posted this message ^^ —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 15:22, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your work :) But how would you translate 別天神? I couldn't find anything proper for 別, my dictionary doesn't even write it as koto, but as betsu or kawa. Seelentau 愛 15:37, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
I would translate it as I did above, as 'Distinguished Heavenly Gods'. 別 means 'distinction', 'difference' and is there to make a distinction between the first five heavenly gods and the later heavenly gods. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 16:11, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Doesn't it make any difference that the 津 is missing? Seelentau 愛 17:09, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
It doesn't, actually. 津 is only there to convey the 'tsu', which is an ancient way of writing the possessive (nowadays written with の). Kishimoto-sensei simply decided to leave it out, as that is also what usually happens to the possessive の: Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi is generally written as 草薙剣. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 17:20, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Okay. But why are you writing 之 and not の? And why are you using - now? Seelentau 愛 17:36, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
I used the hyphens in Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi because that is how names from Japanese mythology are traditionally written. Also, where am I using 之? —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 17:42, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
You used it in the Kami names. But I think that's another traditional thing, huh?^^ Seelentau 愛 19:30, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that's just the traditional way of writing those names. These names were written down centuries before hiragana and katakana were first thought out, after all. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 19:33, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Can you clarify what Itachi said about the genjutsu? In the scanlation I read (Mangastream's), Itachi mentions that he couldn't use the genjutsu because it would take a decade to reuse. And then he mentions something about Hashirama's chakra. I ask because Danzō made it seem that he could use the genjutsu much more often, being able to use it shortly after the summit, despite not wanting to use the eye. Was he able to do that because he had Hashirama's cells then? And considering this is supposed to be a Mangekyō dōjutsu, would that mean that Danzō was a Mangekyō user as well, or that some Mangekyō techniques, once awakened, can be used without actually activating the Mangekyō (like we saw Madara controlling the fox with a regular Sharingan, despite it being said it's a Mangekyō ability)? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:08, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Itachi says:
"It's not that I didn't use it… It's because I couldn't use it… At that time, that is. It takes ten-odd years before Shisui's Mangekyō can be used again. Unless you have Senju Hashirama's chakra or something…" (「しなかったんじゃない…できなかったからだ…当時はな。シスイの万華鏡は再発動まで十数年かかる。千手柱間のチャクラでもないかぎりな……」, "Shinakattan janai… Dekinakatta kara da… Tōji wa na. Shisui no Mangekyō wa saihatsudō made jūsūnen kakaru. Senju Hashirama no chakura demonai kagiri na……")
It seems Hashirama's chakra does, in fact, speed up the recuperation period of the Kotoamatsukami. That's probably what was going on with Danzō. I also think he had access to Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan. I don't think that there are any Mangekyō Sharingan that can be use without the Mangekyō Sharingan activated. Madara seems to have an innate ability to control the Kyūbi, even without the Mangekyō. Hence why Danzō listed him among the people capable of perfectly controlling bijū. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:17, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Since you probably got your hands on the raw by now, could you pls check what is said about Shisui's Genjutsu being the strongest or the strongest of his MS? It's on page 9 and 10 :) Seelentau 愛 12:57, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

This is the translation of that conversation:
  • Itachi: "I implanted something into that crow's left eye…" (「そのカラスの左眼に仕込んでおいたのだ…」, "Sono karasu no hidarime ni shikonde oita no da…")
  • Kabuto: "It's that guy's eye…! There's only one genjutsu that could do something like this" (「奴の眼だ…!こ…こんな事ができる幻術は一つしかない」, "Yatsu no me da…! Ko… konna koto ga dekiru genjutsu wa hitotsu shika nai")
  • Itachi: "'Kotoamatsukami', the strongest genjutsu of Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan! This genjutsu turned me back to how I used to be. It seems the Mangekyō already wore out, though…"
  • B: "The Uchiha's strongest genjutsu user… Shisui of the Body Flicker?" (「うちは最強の幻術使い…瞬身のシスイか?」, "Uchiha saikyō no genjutsutsukai… Shunshin no Shisui ka?")
  • Itachi: "Shisui's eye power produced the strongest genjutsu, capable of putting a target under a genjutsu and manipulating them without them being aware of it" (「シスイの瞳力は対象者が幻術にかけられたと自覚する事なく操る事ができる最強幻術を生む」, "Shisui no dōryoku wa taishōsha ga genjutsu ni kakerareta to jikakusuru koto naku ayatsuru koto ga dekiru saikyō genjutsu o umu")
I would like to point out that the Japanese 'strongest' (最強, saikyō) isn't really as absolute as the English equivalent. Tsukuyomi, Izanagi, and Kotoamatsukami can all three be called the 最強 without contradiction. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:52, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, that settles it, I think. But another quick question: I learned that the か at the end of a question replaces the question mark. So, why do they still write a qm after the か? Seelentau 愛 00:15, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
I'd guess it's for emphasis or something like that. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 21:38, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
