Because you don't seem to read edit summaries, here's it: stop changing Naruto's age. His birthday is tomorrow. Tomorrow has yet to come in the manga timeline. Insisting on changing that will result in a block. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:06, October 16, 2013 (UTC)
Naruto's birthday says October 10th. How is it that the manga timeline is different? Anyway when would be the right time to edit Naruto's age? (Rachin123 (talk) 17:33, October 21, 2013 (UTC))
October 10 in-universe. Naruto said "tomorrow is my birthday", meaning that when tomorrow comes inside the story's universe, when characters acknowledge that the following day has begun, then his age will be changed. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:22, October 21, 2013 (UTC)
Okay thanks. (Rachin123 (talk) 21:41, October 21, 2013 (UTC))
- Absolutely not. When the sun rises in the manga, that's when it becomes acceptable. Otherwise, no. ~ Ten Tailed Fox
The recent Sakura-related images you uploaded do not adhere to the Image policy here. And looking at your talk page, it would seem that this is the breaking point, as you have already been given a last warning. Rxd (talk) 00:46, October 24, 2013 (UTC)
Characters and arcs
When adding to a character's history section, please use the past tense and write about what is specific to the character. Your recent edits to Sakura and Sai's articles regarding anime-only arcs were written mostly in the present tense, and they describe the arc more generally, instead of the character's role in it. Re: Concerning Some Peoples Age
Naruto isn't listed as being 17, because he's not 17 yet. When Obito pointed out that the following day would be the day Kushina and Minato died, and Naruto pointed out that it would also be his birthday, it's very clear that it would only be the following day. Until the manga shows, says, or in any way acknowledges that that has arrived, it's still October 9th in-universe. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:44, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
Understood I'm sincerely sorry. Goodness Naruto age already!!!
Something you should also take in consideration regarding ages: when a character shows up. By that, I mean the following: consider a Part I character, with a known age, that has showed up in Part II. The time-skip was two and a half years, but we're closer to a four year difference since Part I ended. Depending on when in Part II the character show up, their age difference between Parts I and II might not be the same as another character's who is also present in both parts. If a character didn't show up in early Part II, or if they only showed up in early Part I before appearing in Part II, they're likely to be more than two or three years older. When those uncertainties appear, avoid changing or filling in an age. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 03:21, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
- Sai's entry in the third databook introduces him as 17. Sakura's profile in the same databook introduced her at 16. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 16:35, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
So wouldn't that now make Said 18 now since Sakura is now 17?
And Anko hasn't even been given a age in part 2. Why is that?
Character age determination is a bit more complicated than that. Unless they mention something, it's a bit difficult to say how much time has passed. Sai and Sakura are probably 18 and 17 at the moment, they're easier to determine because they're often part of plot. Anko is a character that is in the situation I mentioned above. Her first appearance in Part II was after the third databook was published, we don't know much time passed exactly. Her Part II age could be either 27 or 28. But Suigetsu is around the same height as Assume who is 5'5". But somehow he's 3 inches taller. I know that's not right.
Heights come from either databooks, or Studio Pierrot's settei sheets. If you're referring to how the infobox lists the height once you mouse over the value, that value isn't in feet and inches like 5'5", it's just in feet. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:25, June 17, 2014 (UTC)
Please avoid uploading images as jpgs. Try uploading pngs instead, as they're generally better quality for the kind of stills taken from animation as we use. They're better quality, and the scale better. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:11, June 20, 2014 (UTC)
- ^ This, again. Also, is there any reason that you are uploading such tiny images at all? We prefer high quality, high resolution PNG's as they are easier to display on the wiki. --SuperSajuuk Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 19:54, June 23, 2014 (UTC)
- Please don't use absolute thumbnail sizes (eg |200px) when adding images to articles, nor make pointless edits to add underscores in spaces of a file's name: both are a violation of the Manual of Style policy. --SuperSajuuk Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 20:17, June 25, 2014 (UTC)
