Re: Deletion

Huh. I don't understand that one either. Maybe you just pushed your name by accident. Anyhow, all you have to do to keep your user page is to contribute to the wiki in some way (Talk pages aren't included). Hakinu talk | Contributions 21:44, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Sure, that should do. But before you think I'm an admin or anyone who makes decisions like that, I'm not - I'm a mere contributer like yourself (with speciality in images) Hakinu talk | Contributions 21:56, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Hehe, no, anyone can do that. If you find an article that violates the rules and needs to be deleted, you can put a {{Delete}} tag on the page, and a sysop (=admin) will see if he or she agrees. Hakinu talk | Contributions 22:12, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Spelling error

Thank you for pointing that error out to me. I really appreciate it, as I do the irony of you, yourself making two spelling errors in your message ^^ I'm amazed you actually read that profile, though.

P.S. Why did you sign your message as anonymous? --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 01:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

There's absolutely no reason to be embarrassed about pointing out spelling errors. I really appreciate it, in fact.
I read your user page just now and I'm actually quite interested in your theory. I could easily see the Four-Tails being a basan, but I'm having more trouble with your other matches. I'd love to read your reasoning behind them ^^ --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 02:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Im with Shounen there! Your theory for the Tailed Beasts are sweet! I like your assumptions and the details. You pointed out stuff that I wouldn't even think about (i.e. comparing Roshi's hair to a tail) Nice job! AMTNinja (talk) 04:05, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I just read your reasoning behind your Tailed-Beast theory. I believe the basan fits the Four-Tails perfectly. The only thing against this option is that the basan (as far as I know) has nothing to do with the number four. However, that didn't stop the Three-Tails from being a turtle ^^
The Five-Tails being an oni... I can see how you got to that conclusion, but I disagree. The common depictions of oni and the appearance of the Five-Tails' jinchūriki simply do not match well enough. It being an oni wouldn't explain the smoking pot on the jinchūriki's back. The jinchūriki also comes across as self-controlled and honourable. Something oni really aren't.
I could see the Six-Tails being a ryū. However, the ryū has been used numerous times in naming techniques. I have a feeling Kishimoto wouldn't use it as a Tailed-Beast. That's really the same reason I don't think he'd use a hōō or kirin. I think the bubbles are a bigger hint than you take it to be, though. Maybe he made the Six-tails a real-life animal that is known to make bubbles. Don't lobsters do that? Although one of Pain's summons already is a bubble-blowing lobster...
The Seven-Tails being a shachihoko is far-fetched, but there is actually a hint in this direction that you missed. The shachihoko is often used to adorn roofs. These ornamental roof tiles are called shibi (鴟尾; Literally meaning "kite tail") in Japanese. "Shi" could be taken as an abbreviation for "shichi" (七, seven), creating "Seven-Tails". However, to be honest, I doubt this guess is correct. I have a feeling that thing on her back is an important clue...
I must say I enjoyed reading your theory. Looking over that image of the jinchūriki makes me wonder if Kishimoto really put so much effort in designing them without planning to ever use them in the series. Perhaps later in the series, or in a new databook or fanbook, he might divulge more information. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 01:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah theyre great! But I thought the Seven-Tails fit pretty well! I looked up a Shachihoko and from what I've read, they say that it had the ability to cause it to rain, whihc fits becuz the jinchuriki is from the Land of Waterfalls! AMTNinja (talk) 04:17, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Tailed beasts

We don't allow speculation on this wiki, but you can take your thoughts to the Naruto Fanon wiki. [1]. And I'm afraid that you haven't followed our Userpage policy, so your page has to go. Jacce | Talk 05:49, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Fanon wiki

On the fanon wiki, you should start with checking if there are any page about the tailed beast, and if it is, I guess you can use your userpage. However, I do not spend that much time on that wiki, so I am not sure.

The Userpage policy says that: "Userpages are for editors to give information about themselves as editors on the wiki; ie: Past wiki editing experiences, what they do on the wiki, and preferred methods of contact". Your opinion is thoughtworty, you should talk to the boss about it. Jacce | Talk 06:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: I was kicked out

The userpage policy and strong stance towards fanon came out of a long history on the wiki. The community has always shown a strong stance against fanon on the wiki, to the point that even minor speculatory notes were criticized for being on the wiki. But the real underlying reason is the history of the wiki. It's unfortunate but every bit of fan-like activity we allowed on the wiki has backfired. We allowed userpages, people started creating fan profiles and never helped the wiki. We gave the sysop/bureaucrat/rollback/user/anon flags names like Jonin, Kage, Tokubetsu Jonin, Genin, and Academy Students, people pestered me for "Chunin exams", asked for a higher "rank", and turned permission flags into a social status system which completely counters the open wiki foundation here.

But the worst of all were forums. We used to be extremely permissive, we let people engage in general discussions, when it started to get bloated and in the way I created a separate forum for them (some people ignored this area). But the real issue wasn't the forums, it was the people they attracted. Back when we allowed forums we had a huge mass of users who made a user profile, argued in the forums, and never contributed a single speck of help to the wiki. But that's not really the end of the story, the disturbing part is that a number of those users actually acted hostile, and I mean real hostile, it wasn't just them acting hostile amongst themselves they directly insulted and attacked the users who actually contributed to the wiki. It made the wiki into a very unfriendly environment for editing, as a result after a community discussion we eliminated all the fanon stuff from the wiki.

So basically since then the wiki has taken a stance along the lines of "The Narutopedia is a wiki, not a fansite. There are dozens of naruto forums in existence, fanfic sites, places for your speculation, places for your profiles, and there's even the Naruto Fanon Wiki if you're desperate for a wiki format of these kinds of things. So, the wiki here is none of those, if you want to do those things then go to the proper place, it doesn't belong here".

I recreated part of your userpage, I don't really delete the userpages that are primarily things like where else you've edited. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) May 6, 2009 @ 08:14 (UTC)

^_^ We're all probably just a little lazy (Perhaps that's why it took till Snapper2 and Hakinu decided to do it to cleanup the backlog of images tagged for deletion and replacement, heh). Most of the time we just delete a userpage rather than bother modifying it. You actually bothered to pipe up, and have been contributing a bit so I threw it back on and fixed it up. Most of the userpages are junk from people who come here, create a userpage, then disappear forever. So mostly we just delete, and discuss it with the user if they actually stay around and pipe up about it. It's a bit of an obsession with keeping namespaces free of superfluous pages (ie: No reason to create pointless talkpages if the user doesn't even show signs of coming back). ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) May 6, 2009 @ 18:21 (UTC)
Good to hear that everything got cleared up and you got your justice, then! Hakinu talk | Contributions 18:45, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Tailed Beast Drawings

OMFG I WOULD LOVE TOO!!!!!! That would be really cool! I'm glad you'd actually ask me to do it! Yeah ill try them out and then I'll upload them and show you! AMTNinja (talk) 23:28, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah! I can upload them on photobucket and send you the link or something, or I can upload them and send them by e-mail too! Whichever you want! AMTNinja (talk) 22:27, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Editing help

According to the first databook, the name of the technique in question is 水遁・大瀑布の術 (Suiton: Daibakufu no Jutsu). A direct translation would give "Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique," with 大 (dai) meaning "big," "great" and 瀑布 (bakufu) being a poetic word for "waterfall". --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 09:51, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

"Great" really is a better translation. You can change the title by moving an article using the "move" button at the top. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 20:25, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
If you have a good reason, there's no need to ask permission for a move or put it up for discussion. It's not like this move is controversial in any way. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 21:38, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Lol, the thoughts are just random things I want to write ^_^ It doesn't have to be of any importance. (It's from Naruto Abridged, btw) Hakinu talk | Contributions 06:22, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Thoughts on Naruto and its -pedia

I forgot - did I reply on your question on the question about what the 'Hehehe, moo.' thing is? In case I didn't; it's from Naruto the Abridged Series ep. 2 @ 4:24-4:47 (both before and after the ending sequence), where Kakashi randomly picks up Naruto's milk carton and shakes it.
