Kankuro Trivia

I'm sorry, but as you're a new user here and all, we don't know you. Thus, simply taking your word that what you're trying to put in the trivia is true isn't wise for us. We rely on our resident translator User:ShounenSuki for our translations. If you can get him to say that what you're saying is true, then me may consider adding it. Some may not even see it as something trivia worthy. Skitts (talk) 03:55, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Or provide some other source. I've already asked him for verification so please be patient.--Cerez365 Hyūga Symbol 03:59, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

It has nothing to do with any knowledge that I myself have of Japanese, simply that any ol' person can come along claiming something means something and that said information comes "from that country" and it not be true. Skitts (talk) 04:04, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I've been reasonable I'd say. So, let's try this: quit adding that or I'll request that you get blocked for ignoring what two users have told you on your talk page. We don't have a trustworthy nor existing source to confirm your information. We do not add things without them. Skitts (talk) 04:16, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry that I was rude, but when you ignore what you were told to do several times and kept adding that, you shouldn't be surprised that people are annoyed. and you won't be blocked if you don't try to add that again until we know for sure. IF we took everything that users have input over the years as truth based solely off of their word, our articles would be massive. Skitts (talk) 04:26, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for butting into this but if you could provide a link to a website where his name is translated then we will check it out and if it seems ok, we will keep it and wait for someone else, probably ShounenSuki, to check it out. Also, please add your signature if you're writing on someones talk page. Thanks! Joshbl56 04:30, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

All you have to do is put [] around the text, add a space after the link and add a word so it looks like this (If you need anymore help then click the edit button and you can look at the way I put the link). As for where you got your answer, we don't use information from places like that because it allows anyone to put down an answer, so it could be possibly wrong. I say you should stop the edits for now, put a question on this page, asking him nicely about translating his name as he is our main translator. Thanks for the answer, and good luck! It's awesome that you have all that but if we do not have an actual page that says this (that we can trust). As for the live proof, on the internet, that's not worth much. Just remember to ask ShounenSuki because if you have his approval of the change then we will keep it. Joshbl56 05:05, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

I will admit that people do seem to act rude sometimes but they did it because you kept adding the trivia back. People who edit this wiki a lot get annoyed when someone new keeps doing stuff like that or it seems like trolling (I know you are not, but we can never know). All I can say is wait for ShounenSuki to answer back. Joshbl56 05:22, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Trolling is when someone gets on the wiki to add/delete/change something that usually isn't correct or to try to get us into a revert war. Happens A LOT. As for people brushing off your changes, it's cause you're new. Try starting with something small, like fixing small errors (We use British English here, not American English so you have to be aware of that) and work your way up. As for adding trivia like that, it's always better if you ask in the talk page first and we will try to answer as soon as possible (if we don't then I don't think people will mind a bump). Shounensuki had this to say:

'Black cat'? Where did that come from?
Any way, Temari means 'hand ball' (手毬, 手鞠). Kankurō's name is a bit more difficult. The meaning of his name isn't all that important, you see. The name comes from Nakamura Kankurō (中村勘九郎), which is a stage name used in a long line of kabuki actors dating back to the early seventeenth century. The latest person to carry this name was Nakamura Kankurō V (五代目中村勘九郎, Godaime Nakamura Kankurō), who changed his stage name to the even more prestigious Nakamura Kanzaburō XVIII (十八代目中村勘三郎, Jūhachidaime Nakamura Kanzaburō) in 2005. If you want to get technical, Kankurō's name would mean something like 'intuitive ninth son'.
