Re: Hi! Can you please help me?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but basically you're asking me if it is in any way possible that Madara didn't call Nagato himself the third Rikudō, but the person who defeated Nagato, right?

Because if that's the case, I think can help you. With the way Madara phrased his sentence, which is somewhat ambiguous thanks to the nature of the Japanese language, it cannot be said with 100% certainty that your suggested meaning is impossible.

However, it is extremely unlikely. If Madara was meant to say that the one who defeated Nagato was the third Rikudō, he would have added the に particle to the end of the sentence. With this missing, the most logical conclusion is that he called Nagato himself the third Rikudō. Any native Japanese speaker would draw this conclusion. At this moment, I'd say the chance of Nagato not being the third Rikudō is less than 1%. Even if Kishimoto-sensei made the sentence ambiguous on purpose, there are plenty of better ways to do so before he would have to resort to this. If he did do this, it's really nothing more than a pathetic play on words that no-one in their right mind would be able to guess at unless they either knew the joke or were desperately trying to come to a certain conclusion. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 00:00, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
