Main article: List of Naruto chapters See also: List of Naruto episodes The anime version of Naruto is produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Hayato Date. It began broadcasting in Japan on October 10, 2002, on TV Tokyo.
The English version the anime is licensed by VIZ Media. Naruto began broadcasting in the United States on September 10, 2005, on Cartoon Network's Toonami block and in Canada on September 16 2005 on YTV's Bionix block.

Main article: List of Naruto video games Because of the extremely large gap between the English and Japanese versions of the anime, only eight Naruto games have been translated and released in North America and only four have been released in Europe. Many more games are currently being translated for release later this year.
DVD release (U.S.)

The first boxed set of Naruto was released in the U.S. on July 4, 2006. There are thirteen episodes on 3 DVDs in the first set, which include both Japanese and English audio, and English subtitles. [1] The second uncut volume was released on December 5 2006 and includes twelve episodes on 3 DVDs. [2] The third box set was released on May 29, 2007 which contains episodes 26-38.[3] The fourth uncut boxset contains episodes 39-52 and was released on August 7, 2007 [4]. The fifth uncut boxset was released on December 4, 2007. [5] It is the first to feature a new design for the cover where in addition to the separate color a character image will be posted on frame. The Uncut Boxsets have an age rating of 16. Viz released The Battle at the Hidden Falls. I am the Hero! OVA on May 22, 2007, with an age rating of 13. [6].
Also, VIZ is releasing edited DVDs individually. These DVDs are the version seen on Toonami with English audio only and no subtitles. The release schedule for the edited release is as follows:

Naruto Unleashed, each 3-disc DVD box includes 13 episodes in both English and Japanese uncut formats. The Naruto UK DVDs are released under Manga Entertainment and are rated 12 by the BBFC. Apart from Naruto Lost Story: Mission Protect The Waterfall Village which was rated 15.
