The Tsuchikage (土影, literally meaning: Earth Shadow) is the leader of Iwagakure and thus, the most powerful shinobi in the entire village. The Tsuchikage are known for holding true authority, having their shinobi obey every command without hesitation. There have been three Tsuchikage. The Tsuchikage resides in the tallest building in the village, composed of a rock, with a cone shaped roof. The building bears the kanji for Tsuchi (土, literally meaning: Earth).

First Tsuchikage
The First Tsuchikage.
Main article: First Tsuchikage Ishikawa (イシカワ, Ishikawa) was the First Tsuchikage (初代土影, Shodai Tsuchikage, literally meaning: First or Founding Earth Shadow) who founded Iwagakure in the Land of Earth. In the anime, he was stated to be a member of the Kamizuru Clan.[1]
Second Tsuchikage
Mū, the Second Tsuchikage.
Main article: Mū Mū (無, Mū) was the Second Tsuchikage (二代目土影, Nidaime Tsuchikage, literally meaning: Second Earth Shadow) of Iwagakure.[2] During his lifetime, Mū was renowned as the "Non-Person" (無人, Mujin, Viz: Null-Man) due to his ability which left neither a physical form nor detectable chakra signature.[2]
Third Tsuchikage
Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage.
Main article: Ōnoki Ōnoki (オオノキ, Ōnoki, Viz: Ohnoki), renowned as "Ōnoki of Both Scales" (両天秤のオオノキ, Ryōtenbin no Ōnoki, English TV: Ohnoki the Fence-Sitter), was the Third Tsuchikage (三代目土影, Sandaime Tsuchikage, literally meaning: Third Earth Shadow) of Iwagakure.
Trivia
- Two of the three Tsuchikage have been known to use underhanded tactics to ensure prosperity for their village, in times of alliances and peace. Due to this, the remaining great shinobi villages frown upon Iwagakure and its shinobi.
- All Tsuchikage have displayed the ability to fly.
