Jiraiya using Toad Oil Bullet against Konan

  • Name: Toad Oil Bullet (蝦蟇油弾, Gamayudan)
  • Type: Ninjutsu, C-rank, Offensive, Supplementary, Close to mid-range (0-10m)
  • User: Gamabunta, Jiraiya, Gamatatsu
  • Debut (Manga): Chapter 372

The Toad Oil Bullet technique is a specialized Water Release ninjutsu, which instead of using water, manipulates oil, another liquid. The Toad Oil Bullet technique is a technique unique to the Toads of Mount Myoboku, and those who have signed a summoning contract and been educated in the Sage Arts.

Rather than needing to be near a source of oil, it seems that the user can keep a supply of the oil inside their stomach. Whenever it is needed, the oil can then be brought out of the user's stomach and up into the their mouth and shot out under pressure at its target. The oil clings to the target and is slippery.

Usually, the Toad Oil Bullet technique is not used by itself, but is implimented in corralation with a Fire Release ninjutsu to execute a collaboration jutsu. The oil providing the fire with more fuel and allowing the flames to spread wherever the oil has. Since oil and water don't mix, the oil will allow flames to burn on the water's surface--like Greek Fire.

The Toad Oil Projectile technique has also been used by Jiraiya during his confrontion with Konan: By dousing her in oil while she was using her specialized and unique paper Transformation Technique; the Dance of the Shikigami technique, Jiraiya was able to to hinder her movements.

Since it was oil and not water, it clung to the sheets of paper and the paper cannot unfold. Instead, the heavier oil weighs the paper down, makeing the sheets of paper stick to each other and loose their mobility, making oil an effective and ideal tool for stopping Konan's paper-based jutsu.

However, the Oil can be washed off; Jiraiya managed to keep Konan immobilized briefly until the former Animal Path of Pain interviened with his summons' Water Release: Violent Bubble Wave technique to wash off the oil.
