  • Gaara from Part 1 during the Chunin exams vs Jugo

    • jugo

    • ^what he said. Jugo is more than a match for pretty much any of the Genin from part 1.

        Loading editor
    • idk, Gaara sort of has a similar ability with Jugo's curse mark when he turns only half of his body into Shukaku

        Loading editor
    • Not as strong as Juugo by any means. I think older Gaara would be a fair fight. Not young Gaara.

        Loading editor
    • Am I the only one who thinks that Gaara can easily smash Jugo if he'd go full out with Shukaku power?

      No u are not.

    • yo, jugo went vs 4th rai at what I think was 70 percent. that kinda of a better is feat than losing so Naruto only using kurama's chakra and a boss summoning. that's a pretty good for a gennin, but for someone that fought a kage and survived.

        Loading editor
    • Jugo survived not because he managed to, but just because the opponents were bisy and didn't bother to finish him off for sure, apart from this he was completely and utterly defeated, despite using CS2.

        Loading editor
    • he was in kid form though. him as an adult at full power is probably 1.5, maybe 2 times stronger. and he wasn't necessarily being kicked, or thrashed around. he was the one attacking the kage all by himself at one point. he survived a fist-stab to the heart! beat that. he was pretty fast, and he had them lasers that destroyed the whole area as well.

        Loading editor
    • There weren't multiple Kage, but just one, namely A. And no, he wasn't attacking A by himself, it was him who has been pushed into the wall by A almost immediately after entering CS2. Although it was a somewhat deceptive move, but hole in the chest (not in the heart, it was at the right side) still is a serious injury. And A knocked Jugo out just with his next move. No, Jugo's performance on the Five Kage meeting was far from being an impressive feat.

    • imo it was pretty good for someone who wanst at his best.

    • Perhaps, but I judge the outcome of this (thread) fight based on the abilities of the combatants and not on their ninja ranks or something. Jugo doesn't really counter Gaara's battlestyle. He lacks the speed to overcome Gaara's sand defences, and even if he manages to punch out the way with the brute force, if Gaara is allowed to use his Biju powers to their fullest, he'd still gain the victory for himself. Miniature Shukaku form is already enough to match Jugo's CS2 form and fight on even terms, while Tailed Beast Mode would just overwhelm him. Jugo has no way to reach out for Gaara on top of Shukaku's construct and would eventually get blown up by the Air Bullets or TBB. Plus, CS2 Jugo has too much bloodlust to invent at least some kind of strategy.

    • Funny how shukaku is the only TB that didnt used TBB.But yeah, garra eats jugo for breakfast.

Young/Evil gaara was also barely hanging on to his sanity. It's really a crazy vs crazy fight.

Gaara's ability to transform was significantly impeded by Sasuke with a simply Chidori, and i think Juugo's punches hit significantly harder than that.

The deciding factor is definitely how far Gaara is allowed to go though. Juugo stood no chance against a proper jinchuriki, so if Gaara just gives in to Shukaku, Juugo's toast. Then again, Chunin Exams gaara had significant trouble with transforming on command.

So my judgement is: Juugo takes this.

    • Sooner or later, Gaara would transform anyway, even if after being sufficiently beaten in his base form. It wasn't Chidori that impeded the transformation but rather the sign of Gaara's blood which was basically the first time he was injured that way and thus something that brought him into a state of shock. The next 2 Chidori hits of Sasuke to half-transformed Gaara didn't hinder the progress in any way. So I'd still give it to Gaara.

P.S. Okay, both are mad, but it was the strategy which allowed Naruto (+Gamabunta) to try and cancel the feeding sleep of Gaara by beating him directly.

Wouldn't Jugo be able to knock him out hard the moment he goes into shock, and thus prevent the transformation?

I mean i agree that if Gaara goes all out, Juugo loses. I'm not convinced Juugo will give him that chance.

        Loading editor
    • yup. exactly. jugo is ma boy.... ma beast boy... ma werewolf boy... ma shape shifter boy..... ok, im out...

        Loading editor
    • Well, it was only blood, not the punches themselves. And Jugo prefers to use punches rather than cutting weapons. As we've seen during the battle with Lee, Gaara is completely okay with being punched, although it wasn't a pleasure for him, he could continue the fight anyway.

    • Gaara wins only if he Summons Shukaku, which he can do much faster by just using Playing Possum Technique. If he doesn't rely on Shukaku, Jugo might win since Sand Coffin and Burial were Gaara's only jutsu at that point in time, when normal.

Jugo might get through the Sand Shield with his Chakra Canon enhanced strength attack (I Think). As a Genin, Gaara loses undoubtedly but he was also a Jinchuriki, which was always his stregth to begin with...so Gaara ultimately wins if we match them up at their most powerful form.

        Loading editor
    • well, jugo's most powerful form was him as an adult, not the child-jugo that went cm lvl 2 in the 5 kage summit, that most people use as comparison. he was at like 60 percent of his max power, when in the child cm lvl 2 form imo.

    • jugo>non shukaku garra shukaku garra>jugo,nuff said

        Loading editor
    • not really. for gaara to win, he really needs to go full shukaku.

    • I mean, this isn't the best way to say it, but Jugo was able to stay alive when fighting Sasuke and Suigetsu. Kid Gaara was defeated by Kid Sasuke, and Shippuden Sasuke > Kid Sasuke.

The fight wasn't really serious, Sasuke wasn't aiming to kill either of them and didn't let Suigetsu do this. And technically, it was Kid Sasuke defeated, since the last two Chidori of his didn't do anything against half-transformed Gaara at all while draining his own chakra completely.

    • his point is more important than smaller corrections and some trivia, dude

        Loading editor
    • The point is that serious permanent fights cannot be compared to some transient "friendly" scuffles.

        Loading editor
    • Jugo keeping up with sasukes is BS,since sasuke didnt want to kill him.

        Loading editor
    • lol jugo had one arm transformed though.. the sasuke in the kage arc was> than itachi arc. do the math and ull see what I mean.

        Loading editor
    • The battles of Naruto universe aren't the matter of math, but the matter of skills from both sides.

        Loading editor
    • so u just ignore what I wrote, just cuz I think its not worth thinking about it, and then just make a stupid and obvious comment after that? if jugo is kankuro lvl (he has sasori already, so he's not that weak) or so in the kage arc, and kankuro as an adult> kid gaara, its just obivious to say that jugo is stronger... all this imo

        Loading editor
    • Well, the point is, we should compare skills, not some "power levels" which are too nominal to judge. Gaara is long-range, Jugo is close-range. Gaara already has an advantage. Jugo isn't known for speed and thus unable to get over Gaara's sandshield through it. The only method left for him is brute strength, but there's no guarantee it proves to be powerful enough to break Gaara's defences (which are quite tought too). In case it does, Gaara still has Shukaku transformation as his trumpcard.

        Loading editor
    • rock lee as a kid, in the 5th gate, hit punches that passed through gaara's shield, though... jugo> kid lee dude. the only is for gaara to win is to go full shukaku.

        Loading editor
    • The combatants are Gaara and Jugo and not Lee and Jugo. Lee outmatched sand shield not with the force of his punches, but thanks to his immense speed the shield wasn't able to keep up with. I don't say it's impossible to do the former, but it's still a pretty hard task.

        Loading editor
    • nope.. he punched through the shield quite a few times.. watch it again, cuz I did. and jugo aint that slow either.. not lee lvl, but fast.

        Loading editor
    • Like i said jugo>non shukaku garra since jugo can probably break sand with brute force.Bijju transformed garra eats him.

        Loading editor
    • not really.. but opinions man

        Loading editor
    • Come on man shukaku so strong jugo simply cant beat him.

        Loading editor
    • I meant little shukaku gaara.. not the big one.

        Loading editor
    • Half-Shukaku transformation takes time, and he is unable to move (He can shield himself inside a Sand barrier and can still attack). Sasuke was able to penetrate the shield with Chidori, I'm sure Jugo's Curse Mark punches(forgot the name) can easily do much more damage to Gaara's barrier than Sasuke's Chidori.

        Loading editor
    • yup.. and unlike sasuke, he can boost it with those jets, and use it on both hands/arms.. almost 6 times the power of chidori.

        Loading editor
    • And garra can also emmideatly enter tb.

The Chidori pierces its targets, that's why Sasuke was able to get through Gaara's sand shield. You cant say that Juugo can do the same when done of his attacks have piercing properties
