  • Both Part 1, essentially if Gaara was fought Neji instead of Lee in the Chūnin exams.

    • Neji wouldn't have the speed to go up against Gaara's sand defending him. Neji however will be able to deflect and dodge Gaara's basic attacks, but Gaara will outlast him and then will finish him. Gaara wins with mid difficulty.

    • Neji vs Gaara?? Hmm.. he was fast enough to catch Kidomaru off guard in his normal state and CS2 state, the manga tried to make it obvious by the panels shown when Kido was only able to dodge at the last second, when he finally knew that Neji was right about to hit him. Neji's speed is highly underestimated. Also there are other ways than Speed to beat Gaara. I think Gaara will win in the end with very high difficulty.

    • I never said there was only one way to beat Gaara and that is speed. However, Neji doesn't have any elemental advantages either and no ranged attacks either. Neji is not on the speed calibre of Lee with weights off. His striking speed is high, but he'll have to repeatedly keep drilling while Gaara can easily defend and attack. Neji has Rotation, but even that won't be enough to win. Neji is strong, but Gaara wins. At least you acknowledge that, even though our difficulty stance is different.

    • Only because of the sands speed would Gaara win.

    • there was no one in leaf village who could have defeated gaara at that time amongst konoha 11 (other than perhaps Naruto).Besides gaara defeated lee without using his true strength ............

    • @Namikaze You mean Shukaku. That's completely unfair anyways. Lee pushed Gaara to his limits as did Gaara to Lee. Gaara just had more stamina left.

    • Lee also damaged himself too much. Not using Shukaku, Lee and Sasuke had him beat. Plot saved him.

    • The fact that you admit Gaara getting beat so bad was due to not using Shukaku proves my point. Shukaku is not Gaara. Gaara did everything in his natural power. He could of used Shukaku, but that just meant he was desperate. Also, I know Lee damaged himself a lot in the fight. I practically said that when I said Gaara pushed Lee to his limits. Usually when that is said, it means the person suffered a lot of strain and harm to their body.

@Rachin123 I stand by my statement and no I don't mean shukaku.....
Before that 1 month time gap Gaara would have pretty much beaten anyone in a one on one combat.Infact I would go so far as to claim that before that 1 month time gap only lee would have beaten gaara if he had been drunk.(the invincible drunken fist)
Besides Lee was almost killed and gaara almost got tired infact he could have fought for some more time if he had to.

    • Neji will prove resilient due to his visual prowess however he'll lose once gaara binds him with sand because without hands and feet because a taijustu user is useless without those. He wouldn't last long against gaara's sand speed and his "8 trigram 64 Palm' wont get through gaara's sand armor assuming he was faster than the shield of sand.
