except in this case they do, they expand on Kaguyas character and others aswell. its not like this is some shitty Part I filler with shit designs and fucking trashy fillains that dont ever appear again. canon-fillers are actually interesting like the Itachi and Kakashi ones, and this one should be aswell.
^ There is no such thing as "canon-filler". There's canon(manga and databooks) and fillers(basically anime-only stuff from Part I and Part II). Unless Kishimoto himself makes them canon(like with manga versions of Kiba and Raiga), fillers are not canon and thus don't really matter in the end.

One would argue that the Kakashi ANBU arc would kinda fall under what you would call "canon-filler" as the event that happened is "canon", but what took place (the actions) are "filler", but I get what you're saying >.<

You didn't answer for what they doesn't matter. For the end of the series? By that logic, we aren't supposed to watch anime at all because "everyone knows the ending and it's useless to watch it again". Or it doesn't matter personally for you? We still watch the stuff and have fun, so try to forget everything else and enjoy it as well. Besides, if there aren't going to be a lot of condradictions with the manga in Kaguya's fillers, canon/uncanon issue won't really matter cause it's the original material of the anime.
Also, I think about Anbu Kakashi arc and Itachi's acr as not being poor-done, but rather poorly placed - the former one was a continuation of the Obito's "turning to the dark side" flashback and wasn't supposed to tell about Kakashi at all and the latter almost wasn't connected with the ongoing events (it's hard to believe that Itachi's past could be represented as Sasuke's flashback, given that Itachi had no time to tell him all the stuff). Although the content isn't completely brilliant and has some contradictions with the manga, overall it should be considered as a nice extention of the "canon" story. In turn, Kaguya's past can be perfectly placed into BZ recordings he showed Naruto and Sasuke. And I'm 99% sure it'll be done this way.

Maybe just stop being such a manga elitist and enjoy canon things that are expanded upon that weren't in the manga. Kaguya was a ***ing terrible ***ty character in the manga who was bland as ****, but now she might get developed properly.
@Ravenlot 21 I meant in general.
@RexGodwin Not being "mangaelitist"... Just pointing the fact that anime =/= canon.
They kinda rushed through the ending of the Itachi arc but I'm not really complaining since we're FINALLY back to canon! As for the episode itself, 5/5 all day, feels so good to be back. And that last soundtrack that played when Kaguya was revived, amazing!

Nope, it seems like Kaguya's past would be explored further in the filler episode (although I'm not sure it'll be the whole arc), but I'm looking forward to it cause Kaguya's past is exactly the thing he haven't got to see in the manga.
