What are your thoughts on Mitsuki being Orochimaru's son? Good idea? Bad idea? Will he in the future be bad as Orochimaru? Did you immediately figured out that he was related to Orochi?
Personally at the beginning I did not think about Orochimaru possibly being Mitsuki's father (or in this case since it's not clear if Orochimaru is the father or the mother, we can stick with the word 'parent'). When I first saw him, I did wonder who he was, who were his parents, etc but nope I never thought of Orochimaru.
Then came out an official anime picture of Mitsuki and when I looked at his wide eyes I thought 'Damn his eyes make me think of Orochimaru!' and then his ability of extending his limbs only made me think even more of Orochimaru.
A few days before the movie came out, I dug deeply in the matter and began thinking that certainly Mitsuki was related to either Orochimaru or Kabuto (but after I saw Kabuto's role on the Gaiden, I kinda put the possibility of him being Kabuto's son aside). Here is the main reason why I thought about Mitsuki's possibly connection to Orochimaru: - The three sannin, Jiraya, Tsunade and Orochimaru. Jiraya had a contract with the toads, Tsunade had a contract with the slugs and Orochimaru had a contract with the snakes. - Jiraya eventually trained Naruto, who in the end also made a contract with the toads. - Sakura was trained by Tsunade and eventually made a contract with the slugs - Sasuke was "taken in" by Orochimaru and trained by him, in the end he too made a contract with the snakes. - Boruto is Naruto's son, again it's just a theory but I suppose in the end he too will make a contract with toads. Sarada is Sasuke's and Sakura's daughter, the chances of her eventually making a contract with either slugs or snakes were both 50%/50% but with Mitsuki in the team, I am willing to bet that it will be slugs and Mitsuki eventually have a contract with snakes.
I suppose you can say that it's kind of a pattern repeating: we have the adult sannin, then we have the teenagers (in shippuden) and eventually we will have the children "version" of the three sannin. I guess you could say when I joined the pieces that I began praying for Mitsuki to not be the corrupted member of the new "Team 7" (though I'm aware that perhaps that isn't the correct number for Team Konohamaru) for a few reasons, two of them being: 1. I had already taken a like for Mitsuki, I usually enjoy characters who are mysterious (and recently discovered that I seem to like characters with amber eyes...) 2. In my point of view I guess it would be too repetitive to have a 'bad' member on the team (first Orochimaru, then Sasuke....), wouldn't the story be boring if it turns out that way?
So what are your thoughts?
