Interesting theory, but also may be a bit far fetched. The Izanagi doesn't grant the user the ability of immortality, but it grants the user the ability to change their opponents perception of life or death; casting a genjutsu which makes death appear as if it were a dream.
Using the eight gates w/ Izanagi, would still give the same result as using eight gates w/o
Yet it can distinguish between negative and positive effects. So the question is, what exactly does Izanagi restore? does it remember the user from the moment the Jutsu is cast, and then upon death restore the user to that point, or does it restore the user to the point just before the deadly blow? The difference is that the former would place a time limit upon Eight gates (restoring you to pre-Eight Gate).
So the question is: just how well does Izanagi restore you? If you used Eight Gates, would you be restored to the point of near-death, meaning you can survive the Eighth gate but do feel the after-effects? Could you be restored to a pristine state?
