Chapter 679 Discussion

  • I got nothin :/

Madara used Transform, White Zetsu is a product of IT, and Team Seven is "doomed."

Oh yeah, the colored poster: "You're a wizard Kakashi!"

    • Madara isn't transformed... He's death.

        Loading editor
    • I have a feeling Madara isn't completely dead yet, as Hashi taught Sasuke a jutsu that responds to the senjutsu chakra Madara absorbed from Hashi, in an effort to stop and save him.

    • Anyone know what the hell Kaguya did to the ground in the final panel?

    • I saw the colored poster and was like ">__>" the chapter at least answered one question id been haveing, which was who is The SOSP's brother, overall though crazy chapter.

    • Madara Uchiha, the most powerful shinobi, the one who defeated five kages alone, and the badassest villain that I hope to be the "final boss" of the series is easily defeated and "changed" by an old-woman? Okay, now I'm done reading Naruto.

Overdramatic much? She's basically GOD in human form. Kaguya was the original big-bad. Though I was expecting some sort of resistance from Madara...

      It's Shinju chakra rather.

      Shinju-chakra-pickled people = White Zetsu

Gedo Mazou + petridish Hashi meat also = White Zetsu

You're kidding right? This woman ate the direct source of Chakra.

      "Lets stop fighting."

"I'll have you vanish right now."

I wouldn't be surprise if she can turn gravity into gravy and summon a gigantic chicken that has Godzilla's atomic breath.

If she's on a whole other level, then I'll go ahead and say that Sakura AND Kakashi might as well be dirt.

It wasn't reconned. Madara simply mimicked its origin. It would explain why Black Zetsu holds her will.

Senju DNA/Asura Chakra + Gedo Statue?

Most likely. Hashirama's chakra, which was Asura's, had some sort of influence on Madara to awaken the Rinnegan. If it can do that, then with the powers of Hashirama and the Gedo Statue it certainly can replicate their birth.

    • *sigh* Exactly what I have been afraid of. A pretty unsatisfying end for Madara, one great villain. And now we have the super-OP Kaguya on the field. How are the two going to beat that? I have a feeling the immense chakra absorption Kaguya performs might have something to do with it and might be the reason why her reign back then ended. Maybe she absorbed too much, turned into the Juubi and released IT by that? By the way, anyone else think Kishi drew her pretty well? The panels in this chapter all look pretty detailed and fine, IMO. d(^.^)

    • Very good chapter, although it could have been a tad longer and also, Kaguya should have pulled Sakura's heart out while she was standing next to her and absorb her chakra, that would have been the best part of whole manga. But perhaps, just perhaps... absorbing Sakura would actually weaken Kaguya and make her useless. I see what you did there Kishi.

Seriously, you guys? -_-. Kaguya was only focused on Naruto and Sasuke. And the jokes that she is useless only make me roll her eyes. She may not be much if you look at Naruto and Sasuke, but there's a reason why Kishi spared her and Kakashi from the IT and that is to help in the final battle.

I lol'd xD You know, since Kishi likes to do alot of parallelisms, it's not that farfetch'd and could be the base to create a Kakashi/Rin situation... I don't like the idea since I'm a Sakura fan and I'm pretty sure Naruto would turn super emo and that's Sasuke's territory. You people need to understand that there are forces beyond even Madara. Sure, Madara was strong; but you should've known that Madara isn't a god. His arrogance led to his defeat. This chapter literately proves that his power merely waned in the presence of Kaguya - who was the one true god.

Personally, I don't care for Madara. Sure, I like him for a villain, but I"m not sparing him an ounce of sympathy. He's an asshole and I freakin' hate his guts like I"m supposed to. If he's dead, then, well, rest in peace (finally).

And what's with this idea that Kishi is running out of ideas. If it doesn't meet up with your expectations then just don't read it anymore. Kishi's sending a message that the two flew too close to the goddamn sun and god burned. Now its THEIR fault that Kaguya as been revived and it's THEI-- I"m sorry, it's MADARA'S fault for everything. You want my opinion on Madara? He's an idiot. So much for all powerful when he couldn't see himself being manipulated by a god like Kaguya. Then again, Kaguya herself could be flying too close to the sun herself.

    • I thought this chapter was great. And I think it kind of somewhat confirms that Kaguya is an alien: she did say that the Earth was her precious nursery. Plus Hagoromo did allude to it earlier when he talked to Naruto.

    • Kaguya came from a far away land. I think what she meant was that she wouldn't allow them to harm her precious mother Earth.

Turns out Kaguya is a hippie. Who'd knew.

    • At this point I'm starting to consider that Kaguya indeed might be an alien. I mean, against whom would she need an army?

    • Need a flashback.

Kaguya using the Infinite Tsukuyomi is a plot hole on its own. The fact that the Ten-Tails was never mentioned, the Infinite Tsukuyomi + Army of White Zetsu being another.

    • Crackpot Theory Time

Kaguya casted the Infinite Tsukuyomi after eating the Shinju fruit and took over the world, where she first started making the White Zetsu Army. For whatever reason, the dream was cut short and after her death, her desire to obtain all the chakra that had somehow gotten passed around like candy turned the remains of the Shinju unto the Ten-Tails. The Sage and his brother beat the Ten-Tails and led the world to some sort of peace.

Meanwhile the White Zetsu Army sat underground not being finished until Madara's dumbass summons the Statue and finds an army of White Zetsu growing. So he, sticks Hashirama cells into them and finishes them and thus he has his own army of Zetsu until he decides to pour his will into one that made Black Zetsu, but because all Zetsu were originally made by Kaguya, it was she they all actually served and thus we have Black Zetsu backstabbing Madara and turning him into a three eyed woman.

    • Thought this was a very good chapter. Team 7 versus Kaguya, who's basically a Goddess. Madara was getting rather boring and predictable so I found this to be a nice change of pace, and hopefully answers and origins will be coming soon. It's the history and lore that makes Naruto among my favorites really so I'm looking forward for Kaguya and whatever happens.

I'm sure Madara will be back though. Kishi likes hitting hard with his villains, showing flashbacks, so I doubt his story will end with Madara exploding.

You have to admit; it sounds like something Kishi would do.

    • Here's the most likely and most practical theory of what's going to happen:

They stop fighting. Kakashi finds both of Madara's rinnegan and both of Obito's Sharingan, and secretly takes them. Kaguya lets team 7 go because she doesn't want any more destruction, and because she doesn't see them as a threat. Saskue, Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Obito, and the reanimated Hokage go off and hide in Mt. Myoboku while Kagyua makes her army of white Zetsu. There, Kakashi implements Madara's rinnegan into him and Obito gets his eyes back, allowing Both Kakashi and Obito to use Susanoo. Saskue awakens his second rinnegan. They train for a while and everybody learns senjutsu, and then Harashima comes up with an idea: because Kaguya was from some place far away, maybe they'll find some answers there. So they set off on a journey to find that place. They finally reach a place further away than Mt. Myoboku and the Ryuchi cave where they find a lost city with corpuses and paintings of people who all look like Kaguya and the Sage of Six paths (they all have horns) and in this city, they find a stone tablet which states that Kaguya was originally from Mars, and a long time ago there was endless war in Mars, so Kaguya and group of people came to Earth seeking power to end the wars, but then Kaguya betrayed them and killed everybody and are the Fruit. So they decide to go to Mars to find answers (Saskue flys them there on his Susanoo). When they get to mars, they are attacked by people who look like Kaguya, but the Mars people are no match for them, and eventually they come to an understanding. The Mars people told them that the infinite tsukuiomi can also be cast on Mars and that will snap everybody out of the genjutsu, which is originally how the Sage of 6 paths and his brother stopped their mother, so Saskue casts the Jutsu on Mars and everybody is free. The team rushes back to Earth with a Martin army and, along with all the earth shinobi, they kill Kaguya and seal her soul in another dimension.

    • I'd read the rest of that, but Madara's eyes have shown to... vanish.

        Loading editor
    • If thinking logically, Kaguya is the reason everything in the series occurred.

        Loading editor
    • Where's Goku when you need him? J/K but seriously how are they suppose to fight a person that can turn stone to lava with a single thought? Unless Obito is somehow still alive and Madara is inside her somewhere I can't see them winning. But then again it can't end with her winning. Naruto is the title character after all.

        Loading editor
    • Theory; Kakashi implants Obito's other eye with the help of Sakura and goes around the world taking everyone out of the Genjutsu while Naruto and Sasuke fight with the other Kage to stop this heffer.

        Loading editor
    • Kaguya is to blame for everything. She initiated the usage of Chakra for control and warfare out of some misplaced messiah complex. She stole Chakra itself from the Tree. She is the one who created the Infinite Tsukiyomi technique that instigated Madara's desire for world domination. In a way, she is the evil that drove Madara and to an extent, all the other big bads and the corruption of the Ninja System. She needs to be destroyed or at least sealed away forever.

    • This Chapter further proves that zetsu clones can be made only out of wood based chakra. They are not hashirama's manifestations. Since hashirama's kekkei genkai was wood release zetsu clones could be made. But the origin of zetsu is from the shinju the fruit of which kaguya ate. Hence she is able to manipulate zetsu even though black zetsu may have been madara's will. I feel the edo hokages are also in trouble as they have been made out of zetsu spore clones. Great chapter with an unexpected twist!! Looking forward to the next

    • No it doesn't.

It proved that there are multiple ways of making Zetsu. Both Madara, Obito, Sakura, and the rest of the Medical Squad confirmed that Madara's White Zetsu were created as clones of Hashirama Senju. Kaguya creates hers through the use of the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The concept isn't hard to grasp.

There are a lot of different ways to cook a turkey and its still a turkey at the end. Same logic here. Lot of different ways to make a Zetsu and it still be a Zetsu.

    • I really don't get how Team 7 could defeat Kaguya. Maybe Kaguya's second son, Hamara or something passed on his will to either Kakashi or Sakura, most likely Kakashi and he will then become super OP similar to Madara. Maybe Hagoromo's wife reincarnated into Sakura? Sakura often call Naruto and Sasuke her boys so, kind of like a mother...Ahhh! So confusing...

As far as I understand, Kaguya never met anyone in her time that understood all three ways on how to counter her visual powers. And to be honest, the Sharingan isn't hard to fool.

Kishi is always big on symbolism. For me,I noticed how their choice of weapons represents their fighting styles; Naruto with a sword and shield being balanced with offense and defense(and being a defender); Sasuke with a sword and a bow for both close and ranged combat; Sakura with an axe which requires physical power; and Kakashi the wizard which requires intellect and creativity.

Thats the symbolism i got from it

The Sharingan and Rinnegan have proven to have counters.

As far as I understand, Kaguya never met anyone in her time that understood all three ways on how to counter her visual powers. And to be honest, the Sharingan isn't hard to fool.

Then again, this is Kaguya we're talking about. What if she has no weaknesses?

True, but we've never met someone with all 3. Its likely she can now see infinity

As far fetched as that sounds, I don't see how it's not possible.

Those were all cannon fodder shinobi. And, yes, even the Five Kage. Then again, Madara was trying to be something he wasn't. It was most likely that obtaining the power of the Jubi was far too new to him.

    • Here's an idea (it relies heavily on a sudden Deus Ex Machina, but then, that seems to describe the manga lately):

Kaguya possessed the Byakugan and the Rinnegan. (I know there's been rampant and heated debate on that, but Sasuke has the same eye and it's considered a Rinnegan, so what's good for the gander is good for the goose as far as I'm concerned.) We know that Hagaromo received her Rinnegan, albeit in an altered (perhaps diluted) form, and from there he passed it on to Indra, who diluted it still further into the Sharingan. But the Byakugan also manifested in the Hyuga clan, indicating they are related to Kaguya. I think they received the Byakugan from their founder- Hagaromo's brother, Hamura.

From there, we know that Hagaromo's chakra is still existent and even sentient, along with Kaguya's, Asura's, and Indra's. Logic would dictate, then, that Hamura's chakra is alive and hidden as well. And who is the logical host for this chakra? Hinata. Like Hamura, she was less talented than her older sibling, Negi, and yet is still a competent user in her own right. (She's also arguably the only real Byakugan user of any significance right now.) So, Hamura will manifest within Hinata, dusturbing her chakra and so allowing her to escape the Infinte Tsukuyomi; he'll also replenish her chakra reserves to counteract what Kaguya took. She then tries to reach Naruto.

Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke try to fight Kaguya, but (after several filler chapters needlessly stretching out the fight, naturally) Sasuke ultimately suffers a fatal injury, while Naruto ends up losing both eyes. With his dying breaths, Sasuke gives Naruto his Rinnegan, asking (a la Kakashi and Obito, which the former notes as he looks on) to become Naruto's eye and see the future with him (thus allowing Naruto to later become Hokage, as he had earned, while still technically allowing Sasuke to kind of be in that position as well). Hinata then arrives and, upon seeing Naruto's condition, insists on donating one of her own eyes, and with it, Hamura's chakra. Naruto will then have the chakra of all nine tailed beasts, both halves of Hagaromo's power, Hamura's chakra, Asura's and Indra's chakra, the Rinnegan, and the Byakugan, giving him enough powers and abilities to be able to face Kaguya and the Shinju within her. After some fighting, Naruto will then impale Kaguya's chest (as seems to be the trend in the last few chapters) and attempt to extract the Tailed Beasts from her. Within their subconscious, Naruto, Hagaromo, Hamura, Asura, Indra (the latter two having reconciled after Naruto and Sasuke fought together), and the Tailed Beasts will confront Kaguya and the Shinju. Gradually, they will convince Kaguya that her desire for peace and an allied army was already coming to light (citing the Shinobi Alliance). She will realize how wrong she was and, emulting her son, extracts the Tailed Beasts' chakra from herself and sets them free. Kaguya, Hagaromo, and Haruma will then decide together that the Shinobi world is better off without them, and all three will enter Madara's possesed body, and in an act of self-sacrifice, will use Creation of All Things to destroy Madara, themselves, and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path simultaneously.

Not really more like a watered down verison (Hashi). And the true versions. The way i took it is that the IT versions are much more powerful then the H versions. Has the IT versions are actual humans that have been drained and changed into the Zetsu. The H versions where grew from cells while they were dangerous they where pretty much enemy shelled cannon fodder.

Deciding to attack Neji from a distance, Kidōmaru advanced his cursed seal to its first level before sending multiple spiders to attack Neji. Neji was able to repel them all, although Kidōmaru noticed a delayed reaction in some of Neji's blocks. He theorised that Neji's defences had a blind spot, and continued to attack him from this blind spot. His theory was proven correct, as Neji was unable to block the attack. Believing himself to have found Neji's weakness, Kidōmaru prepared himself to finish the battle."

Nagato, Minato and Kushina etc. So with the power of Obitos sharingan and his will, I can see Naruto awakening the rinnengan. Although this is a kind of out there theory, I think it would be quite cool if it happened.

Other than the Earth part, that is an eerily powerful prediction and one that would fit in with one of the main themes of Naruto: how the ninja have been using chakra to kill each other for multiple centuries and how they grow more and more powerful and keep causing more and more destruction. Maybe the only way Naruto can keep his oft-stated promise to bring peace is to eliminate chakra altogether.

the Juubi is a creation of her will. when she ate the shinju fruit it gave her powerful life force with it she then molded her physical and spiritual energies together creating chakra(she is the creator of chakra not the shinju) eventually she feared her sons and mutated into her monster form(juubi)they did not know this and sealed her away into the moon

it is a fact that she is the creator of chakra Even Black Zetsu said so tree worship is a staple of many religions often representing knowledge. when she ate the fruit she gained world Knowledge(nature energy) that tought her how to mold her physical and spiritual energies together creating Chakra. the details may be just a theory but its a highly probable theory

Even if my theory is wrong that is how they'll end this. They'll seal her in the moon using Chibaku Tensei, which what I said before is a jutsu derived from the Rinnegan, which Sasuke has. Thus eliminating any need for Naruto to get one.

YES it is fanon, the manga states she is the "Progenitor of chakra". Progenitor does not mean the same thing as creator. The dictionary definition is:

"a person or thing from which a person, animal, or plant is descended or originates; an ancestor or parent."

      The definition of creation is:

"the action or process of bringing something into existence."

Though she is the origin of chakra that doesn't mean she created. If Hypothetically speaking I swallowed all the water in the universe then a few centuries later it was redistributed, I would be the point or object of origin but I still wouldn't be the creator of water.

In the same way the Shinju was present before Kaguya ate its fruit i.e. its very much possible chakra already existed before kaguya and it was simply all consolidated in the Shinju. WE DONT KNOW. For all we know the Shinju could have been very much capable of combining physical and spiritual energy.

This means she may have or may NOT have create it.

So as others have said, what you've said is not fact but just a theory.
