"The Summoning Technique: Wisdom of the Toad Sage!" (エロ仙人直伝　口寄せの術だってばよ!!, Ero-sennin Jikiden Kuchiyose no Jutsu Dattebayo!!) is episode 54 of the original Naruto anime.

Synopsis

Releasing Naruto into Jiraiya's care, Ebisu tells the Sannin to take care of him. Meanwhile, at the Kikyō Castle, Dosu tries to kill Gaara so he can fight Sasuke in the finals, only to be easily killed by a transformed Gaara which horrifies Dosu before his death. Baki and Kabuto look on from the sidelines having witnessed the attack. Baki and Kabuto then discussed their plans to attack Konoha. Unfortunately, Hayate Gekkō heard the conversation. After he heard the plans, he attempts to leave in order to notify the Third Hokage, but he is killed by Baki. Jiraiya was peeking again at the bathing girls prompting Naruto to finally use his Sexy Technique to convince Jiraiya to train him. Jiraiya finally tells Naruto that he's teaching him the Summoning Technique. Listening to Naruto describe his chakra, Jiraiya tells him that he must use his "red chakra" to use the technique so he had to first use up all of his regular chakra. So Naruto depleted his chakra using the Shadow Clone Technique. After that, Jiraiya summoned a frog, with a summoning contract scroll. After signing the contract, Naruto tried using the Summoning Technique, but only a tadpole appeared. Hayate's body was later found by a group of ANBU with Yūgao Uzuki wondering aloud what had happened.

-The episode starts off on the top roof of the Hokage Monument, when [[Ebisu]] tells Jiraiya to take care of Naruto; he then leaves to go down. The scene changes into a building where the roof has two huge statue fishes. [[Gaara]] was sitting on the tail of the fish; he was suddenly alarmed by [[Dosu]] who tells him that he doesn’t get any sleep, but then said that he can fight him in this location, making him one step closer to fighting [[Sasuke]]. Gaara then said that it was the full moon, having “it’s” blood stirred up. Gaara suddenly turns into an enormous monster, and swipes at Dosu, killing him. Gaara was then breathing and putting his fingers on his head, like he has a headache.
-Out in the distance, [[Baki]] and [[Kabuto]] witnessed the attack. [[Kabuto]] was then shocked of how Gaara easily killed Dosu. Baki and Kabuto then discuss the plans to attack the Leaf Village. For some apparent reason, he couldn’t move his sword. Baki then activates a move with some gusty move, Hayate then shouts.

He then sees the girls leave and trains Naruto. Jiraiya then said to try to get out that red chakra. Naruto attempts, but only his original blue chakra comes out. Naruto then asks of why he needs to use that chakra, Jiraiya only answers by saying that using this red chakra can make Naruto more powerful and is necessary for him to use this move that Jiraiya is going to teach him. Jiraiya finally reveals that he was going to teach him the [[Summoning Technique|Summoning Jutsu]]. Knowing that it was awesome, Naruto wanted to give it out a try, but Jiraiya then said to use his normal chakra first so that he could release his red chakra.

Naruto then tries it out, and does, for the first time in his life, the Summoning Jutsu. To his surprise, he summoned a tadpole. Jiraiya then said that Naruto has no particular talent.
