The Medical Ninja's Student (医療忍者の弟子, Iryō ninja no deshi) is episode 11 of the Naruto: Shippūden anime.

Synopsis

Chiyo's assault on Kakashi is stopped due to Naruto's quick use of shadow clones. Upon further inspection, Chiyo realizes that Kakashi only bares resemblance to the White Fang of the Leaf Village, who is actually his father, but he is not actually him. She plays it off by saying that she pretended to be senile. Meanwhile, Sakura has everyone leave the room as she begins her examination on Kankurō. The poison in his body is one that can destroy the cells after infiltrating the muscles. Though there's a slight chance to save Kankurō, Sakura has the two medical shinobi present gather up some materials for her.

Akatsuki continues to extract Shukaku from Gaara's body.

Sakura has the others hold Kankurō down while she holds a held together sphere of medical liquid over him. She sends chakra into his body, draws the poison from the cell, absorbs it into the ball, and pulls it out. After awhile, she removes most of the poison from his body to the point where his life is no longer in danger, but she's far from done.

A messenger bird arrives with a message from Tsunade: Guy's team has been sent as reinforcements and will be arriving soon. Naruto prepares to take off to find Akatsuki… though he hasn't the slightest idea where to begin. The Sand Village began tracking Akatsuki through Kankurō, who is currently immobile, and through a pursuit squad, though no words has come from them since. Suddenly, Kankurō begins to regain consciousness and Kakashi has Baki show him where Kankurō fought Akatsuki. Within Crow's hand is a piece of Sasori's mask, so Kakashi and the others can track Sasori in the event that he and Deidara split up. Kakashi summons his pack of Ninja Hounds and they whisk off when they get a whiff of Sasori's mask.

Sakura administers a conjured up antidote to Kankurō, who has confirmed that one of the members he fought was Sasori of the Red Sand.

Kankurō thinks back to a talk he had with Gaara about how one could escape a path of total solitude and how they could share those feelings of joy and with other people. Gaara's bout with Naruto taught him that because the two shared that same feeling of complete isolation and suffering.

"Naruto Uzumaki… please, take care of my brother!" is Kankurō's plea to Naruto, who gladly accepts.
