The bridge was the predetermined rendezvous point of Akatsuki's Sasori and his sleeper agent within Orochimaru's ranks Kabuto Yakushi. Sasori periodically checked on Kabuto for useful information and was implied had employed Kabuto to retrieve Orochimaru's Akatsuki ring. Team Kakashi's Sakura Haruno was told by Sasori about this preplanned meeting and took his place. Their goal was to trap Kabuto with hopes of acquiring information on the whereabouts of Sasuke Uchiha. Unfortunately Kabuto was long since free from Sasori's control and was working with Orochimaru to trap him. Team Kakashi's trap forced them into a confrontation with one of the Sannin. Though on paper the battle was a bad situation, Orochimaru's taunting about Sasuke caused Naruto to lose his temper and quickly unleash the power of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. After knocking Orochimaru deep into the forest and some more taunting,Kabuto moved to protect his master. Unfortunately Naruto's counterattack blasted Kabuto (accidentally knocking out Sakura) and destroyed half the bridge. Despite Yamato using his Wood Release Ninjutsu to brace and support it, the bridge was effectively demolished.

The Bridge was only shown briefly but thanks to Naruto's bad temper it is possible to discern a few things about the bridge's construction. It was a basic arched arch bridge of medium size far smaller but similar in design to Salginatobel Bridge in Switzerland. It was made of reinforced concrete, covered in wood with metal railings along it's length.

Unfortunately the bridge though strong enough to withstand the chakra of a Three Tailed Naruto, it was unable to withstand the counterattack (see, a simple yell) that Naruto leveled at Kabuto during the battle between he, Team Yamato, and Orochimaru.

The Tenchi Bridge.

The Tenchi Bridge (天地橋, Tenchi-kyō, literally meaning: Heaven and Earth Bridge) is located somewhere in Kusagakure, spanning a deep ravine. It was here that Team Kakashi, led by Yamato, were to meet up with one of Akatsuki-member Sasori's spies, Kabuto Yakushi. The mission failed and led to Naruto Uzumaki using his Four-Tailed form to fight Kabuto's real master, Orochimaru. The bridge was destroyed during this fight.
