Team Kakashi, Deployed (出撃、カカシ班, Shutsugeki, Kakashi han) is episode 8 of the Naruto: Shippuden anime.

As Team Kakashi sets out for their mission, a woman, who is found out to be a decoder, heads to decode the message about what has happened in the Sand Village.

Deidara heads off before Kankuro can do anything, so he must contend with Sasori. Black Ant emerges from the sand and propels Sasori into the air. When Sasori's captured by Black Ant, Kankuro prepares to use his Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot.

Team Kakashi receives their mission: coastal transport convoy, and as expected, Naruto turns it down. This easily infuriates the others, but before anything can be accomplished, the decoder enters and delivers word about the message from the Sand. Team Kakashi's mission is to find out anything and assist the Sand in any way they can.

Black Ant opens and Sasori dissolves into sand. He makes light work of Kankuro's puppets, but when smoke bombs are shot at him, he still doesn't put effort into fighting back. Kankuro attacks with his Poison Mist Hell: Hundred Continuous Hell. Still, Sasori survives and his tail shoots forward, but it's blocked by Salamander, a puppet that has the strength of an iron wall (which would explain how Kankuro and some of the others survived that rock slide from earlier). But as Sasori points out and exposes for himself, Salamander has a weak spot. It turns out that the creator of all three puppets is none other than Sasori of the Red Sands himself, the very same. Sasori shoots his tail at Kankuro and injects the poison in him. Kankuro soon collapses due to the poison spreading throughout his entire body and blacks out.

In the Leaf, Jiraiya tells Naruto not to use "that" jutsu before heading off.
