Team Dosu was one of two squads sent by Orochimaru to infiltrate the Chūnin Exams in Konoha. Whereas the other team disguises itself as Konoha ninja to spy on the participants, Team Dosu enters as Sound Genin. Accordingly, all use sound-based jutsu. Orochimaru instructs them to kill Sasuke Uchiha, but he secretly does not expect them to succeed and intends them only to test Sasuke's abilities. Once Sasuke and his friends defeat them Orochimaru loses interest in them, unconcerned with how they fare in the exams. Dosu is the only one to make it through the preliminaries, but is killed before the finals. Kin and Zaku are later used as sacrifices for Orochimaru's Summoning: Impure World Resurrection.
