Confusion... the last two episodes i watched called all these events as being part of the 3rd war, and that the 3rd war was from when jiraya was younger and nagato was a child all the way to the time period when minato was already an adult and kikashi gaiden happened. not only did it say all this stuff, but the way the entire two episodes were done made it seem this way too, with the cut-scenes of stuff known to be in the 3rd war and the sanin finally returning to konoha as they had left at the beginning of the war... so... whatdaheck? 165.249.0.62

:The anime screwed up. The Sannin rose to fame during the Second Great Shinobi World War, there is no doubt about that. The Third Great Shinobi World War didn't start until a few years before the start of the series, when the Sannin were already in their thirties. Since Dan died during the second war, causing Tsunade's hæmophobia, it is highly unlikely that Tsunade fought during the third war. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 11:37, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

::Yeah I thought so. Was thinking that maybe the subbers just screwed it up, but the whole way the entire two episodes are done make it seem like it was all the same war too. Woulda been a loooong war lol. I did really like the episodes as a whole though.
