- Possible. Looking back at the old discussion, one user brought up that it is entirely possible to actually dig a hole and not use a jutsu for it. So there is that.--TheUltimate3

I just re-read the same chapter. At first I thought Sai was simply phasing through the dirt, but after a closer look, it shows clearly that the earth shifted. I don't think Sai dug the hole with his hands, I think the only time that's ever happened, it stated as such.
