Earth Release

I was just rereading some older chapters and after sai's ink clone got stabbed by orochimaru. Sai was seen hiding in the ground. Could this be earth release: hiding like a mole? Munchvtec (talk) 12:47, September 8, 2014 (UTC)

Someone brought this up year ago. The thing is, the ground wasn't shown very well to deduce if he used it or not--Elveonora (talk) 13:03, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
It could be that he just dug a hole like Naruto did, but both in the manga and anime, he comes out the ground without using his it really looks like he's a user. Maybe he never got listed because he wasn't added as a user in the databook which covered Deidara, who did it before and Tobi, who did it after Sai's meeting with Orochimaru....Norleon (talk) 13:13, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
Maybe he wasnt listed as a user because there are multiple jutsu that let you do this. But anyways it should be added somewhere. Munchvtec (talk) 13:16, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
I would like to have some more opinions first. Norleon (talk) 13:21, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
Possible. Looking back at the old discussion, one user brought up that it is entirely possible to actually dig a hole and not use a jutsu for it. So there is that.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:29, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
How did he have enough time to did a hole that big with his hands since he has nothing else. Also, that's why it should be listed as presumed. Why would he need to dig a hole anyways? He could have just used his fancy ink body flicker jutsu to hide. Munchvtec (talk) 13:32, September 8, 2014 (UTC)

How does a ninja have enough time to cut a log perfectly for a substitution? Jutsu are weird.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:35, September 8, 2014 (UTC)

Soooo I guess he does not get listed? Norleon (talk) 13:36, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
For now, I would say no. But that's just my opinion.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 13:42, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
I just re-read the same chapter. At first I thought Sai was simply phasing through the dirt, but after a closer look, it shows clearly that the earth shifted. I don't think Sai dug the hole with his hands, I think the only time that's ever happened, it stated as such. I think a "Presumed" tag would be appropriate if nothing else.--Reliops (talk) 19:02, September 16, 2014 (UTC)
Does the new data book confirm that he has earth release or not? Munchvtec (talk) 13:15, November 5, 2014 (UTC)
It does I believe.--Elve [Mod] Talk Page|Contribs 13:16, November 5, 2014 (UTC)
ah so i was correct. Munchvtec (talk) 13:19, November 5, 2014 (UTC)
Can i have a link to the page where all the data book scans are. I can't find it. Munchvtec (talk) 13:20, November 5, 2014 (UTC)

Tokubetsu Jōnin

I guess he is one now because Root doesn't exist anymore? Can anyone confirm this? Norleon (talk) 13:55, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

he is no Tokubetsu Jōnin but something else. can anybody please find out? I cant read the databook by myself.Wongo2 (talk) 00:59, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Considering Sai isn't known to come from an established clan, does his marriage to Ino mean he married into the Yamanaka clan? I'm not well versed in the intricacies of clan membership. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:58, February 7, 2015 (UTC)

Considering that "Sai" is his codename, it wouldn't make sense to change it to Sai Yamanaka.--Elve [Mod] Talk Page|Contribs 21:28, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
Sai's real name is never known, so I agree with Elve. --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 21:30, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
I'm not suggesting a rename of the article, what I'm asking is if his marriage to Ino means Yamanaka would be added to his infobox, like Temari was added to the Nara, Sakura to the Uchiha, Karui to the Akimichi, and Hinata to the Uzumaki. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:34, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
Women marry into the man's clan, not the other way around. For instance, Hashirama is not part of the Uzumaki clan, but Mito is part of the Senju and Uzumaki clan. Same with Minato, he's not classified as a member of the Uzumaki clan either, nor is Naruto with the Hyuga, but Hinata with the Uzumaki and the Hyuga. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 21:37, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
Hashirama isn't an Uzumaki because his own clan was more prestigious. Minato isn't an Uzumaki because by the time he and Kushina got together, the clan pretty much didn't exist anymore. I'm not sure if this is a fiction only thing, but I recall knowing from somewhere that man can marry into their wife's clan if the clan is important enough/more important that his own, or else take their wife's last name if her clan is important enough and the name is in position to disappear due to the lack of male descendants. I miss the days ShounenSuki could provide these culturally relevant tidbits to discussions. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:50, February 9, 2015 (UTC)

Actually I don't even get why people even insert Uzumaki Clan into Naruto's infobox, of his children and Karin. Uzumaki as a clan are long extinct. There's no Uzumaki Clan anymore.--Elve [Mod] Talk Page|Contribs 13:31, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

The Uchiha were brought to the brink of extinction before the series began, and for the longest time thought to have only two surviving members. And at the end of the series, there are exactly two Uchiha by blood alive, Sasuke and Sarada. Should we remove Uchiha clan from their infoboxes, as the clan is essentially no more as well? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 14:38, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
In my opinion we should, but it's not like my opinion is valid or anything. Unless Naruto and Sasuke decide to restore their clans, they themselves and their children are Uchiha and Uzumaki in name-only, not "Naruto, Hinata, Boruto and Himawari of the Uzumaki Clan" nor "Sasuke, Sakura and Sarada of the Uchiha Clan"--Elve [Mod] Talk Page|Contribs 14:44, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
Your opinion certainly is valid, just nonsensical and going against the logic the majority of other users bothered enough to partake in discussion uses in a non-negligible amount of times. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 14:51, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
You have the science down pretty much Omni. Women usually marry into their husband's clan unless their clan is more prestigious and or they are the heir apparent for the clan. Ino is more than likely the head of the Yamanaka now and Sai not being part of a clan would now be affiliated with the Yamanaka - ergo their son's (I swore was a girl) last name. The Uzumaki thing is a bit more complex and their case is much different than the Uchiha. The Uzumaki had to disband their clan and abandon their country, the Uchiha simply were on the brink of extinction. But to ensure that we are being unbiased, I think Minato should be listed as being affiliated with the Uzumaki. Because if we really followed convention, Naruto should have been subsumed into Hinata's clan.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 15:32, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
Exactly what Cerez says. Hinata couldn't marry into the Uzumaki because there was no clan to marry into.--Elve [Mod] Talk Page|Contribs 15:44, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Hinata married into Uzumaki clan, Naruto's last name is Uzumaki because Minato didn't want his son's last name as Namikaze, he had many enemies. The rest is same it can be assumed that this naming ideology is taken from eastern tradition, women marry into the husbands clan and their surname changes only for wife, Minato didn't change his surname, but I agree with what Cerez said, Sai name can be changed based on clan and also Minato should be affiliated to Uzumaki clan.--Naruto uzu6254 (talk) 17:11, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

So I see an alternative name for Sai is now "Sai Yamanaka", but the infobox states do not add Yamanaka. So...explanation please?--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 14:09, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

The infobox states that? Must've overlooked it, should be removed. • Seelentau 愛 14:12, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

Kay. Thanks for the heads up.--TheUltimate3 Akimichi Symbol (talk) 14:16, August 6, 2015 (UTC)

Fixed it. :3 • Seelentau 愛 14:18, August 6, 2015 (UTC)
Confirmed in the novel "Boruto-Naruto the Movie", chapter 3 [1] Quote "Standing in front of those pits was a shinobi with thin eyes like thread, Yamanaka Sai. He was Inojin’s father." --Sharingan91 (talk) 11:09, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

What on earth is a Chubu? What rank is this and when was it ever stated? --Legendary Super Saiya-Jin 4 (talk) 08:38, December 22, 2015 (UTC)

No clue. The Last: Naruto the Movie, apparently. EDIT: More info on it here. The lack of a reference makes things inconvenient it seems... WindStar7125 Divine Mangekyō Sharingan VolteMetalic 09:17, December 22, 2015 (UTC)

With regards to this— does anyone have a direct translation for the word? —Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 12:55, January 2, 2016 (UTC)

Yes, "Support Division". It's mentioned in Sai's Trivia section. Norleon (talk) 13:23, January 2, 2016 (UTC)
