Redirect?

Should we redirect and move this to Land of Rice Fields instead of redirecting Land of Rice Fields to Land of Sound? --Kakashi Namikaze 23:28, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

If memory serves me correctly, it was called Land of Sound before it was anime refered to it as Land of Rice Fields. Therefore, by that reason it was renamed Land of Sound after Orochimaru took over and thus its current name. --TheUltimate3 23:32, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I know this is very old, but I feel like I have to set something straight here. The only named countries with shinobi villages in the manga are the Five Great Countries. All other shinobi villages, Amegakure, Otogakure, Kusagakure, Takigakure, lie in unnamed countries. Whenever someone talks about the country in question, the use the name of the shinobi village. E.g. when the Yondaime Hokage explained his team about the invasion of the 'Land of Grass,' he used "Kusagakure," not "Kusa no Kuni". When Jiraiya talked about the civil war in the 'Land of Rain' he used "Amegakure," and not "Ame no Kuni".
So it's safe to say that the smaller villages lie in unnamed countries. --ShounenSuki 16:49, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Citation

Can we get a citation in this article for this country ever being known as the Land of Sound and not the Land of Rice? I'd like to know which episode, chapter, or source book named it so. 67.139.65.114 (talk) 17:52, March 6, 2011 (UTC)

It may have come into popularity around the same time as the "Land of Rain" and the "Land of Grass", and so may be just as accurate. ~SnapperTo 20:55, March 6, 2011 (UTC)

Source?--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 21:05, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
VLC snapshot, episode 136 of season one, anime only, when Jiraya talked about the country and when Orochimaru convinced it's daimyo.--Zakata (talk) 19:29, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
What about his name? Joshbl56 19:33, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
Ah, he's there. I created the article though I think the name should be 'Ryōshū', we might have to ask for a translation.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 19:44, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
Also that you need to add a link of his page to the "List of Daimyo"-list, since he's not listed there--Zakata (talk) 19:50, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
