His weapon

Trivia?

I checked, but honestly the semblance between him and the original character are actually superficial at best. The flag, large pompadour and high collared jacket are all traits of stereotypical Japanese gang culture, making that the far more likely influence as they share nothing else in common.--Hawkeye2701 (talk) 00:18, March 8, 2015 (UTC)

That's what I mean, they both share the trait of stereotypical gang member, so it's not really that he has a strong semblance to this guy, they both just share a similar origin. It's like saying two guys dressed as Hitler look alike.... And what particular gang that might be. His hair also resembles Kuwabara from Yuyu Hakusho but it's not that large and not much of a resemblance, Ryu doesn't have a flag, the only common thing the original character share is the hair style and them holding a flag, the original character is made by a fan and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto in his own style. I'm not stressing the fact that this character was taken for the anime, just thought it was an interesting trivia, feel free to remove it if you want.--Mecha Naruto (talk) 11:24, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

And I don't think spinning a flag very fast can break through defenses and cut clothes, which is the reason it's being attributed to Wind Release, it fits the description, especially the cutting. Victory9000 (talk) 18:53, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
