I don't know if it's just me, and I doubt it means anything but I notice that the Kaima form and Amachi's ESPECIALLY seems to take some definite inspiration from the Darkstalkers/Vampire: The Night Warriors franchise character Rikuo a.k.a Aulbath in Japanese. Rikuo is a merman who has a lot in common looks wise with Amachi's Kaima form. I only really noticed this recently as I was looking up stuff for Darkstalkers on a nostalgia trip and my hopes for a new entry to the fighting game franchise while looking at the Kaima form page too.
