Bringing it up here to avoid an edit war:
a) No coiling.
b) Completely different execution (clones emerge from pools of shadows).
c) Technique was named in a different media (Shikamaru Hiden Novel).
Why was this considered for an anime debut appearance, exactly?--BerserkerPhantom (talk) 12:13, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
- If the core usage is fundamentally the same, the difference in game usage goes in trivia like various other game techniques. It might have been called Shadow Clone Technique, but it doesn't match the description of said technique, just as in the case of this being called the Body Flicker Technique. --Sarutobii2 (talk) 16:46, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
- Except it isn't. No coiling, the shadows retreat, and are intangible. So, no, the core usage is not the same in any way other than these shadows are made out of actual shadows. There's always adding the "Variants" sub section in the original Shadow Clone Jutsu page, though, if you want to be technical.--BerserkerPhantom (talk) 16:55, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
