is it noteworthy that he was almost certainly of chunin rank when he defected?, he stated that the scroll he stole could only be read by a jonin ranked shinobi, which he wasn't(at the time he made the statement)implying he was a chunin at the time--Caseather (talk) 00:12, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

It's obvious I think, no where in the article it says he was a Konoha Jounin. But isn't it a requirement for one to have a pupil to be a Jounin? Unless it was a Jiraiya-Naruto-like relationship or I'm wrong--Elveonora (talk) 11:24, November 8, 2013 (UTC)
