White Zetsu is able to plant spores, which cannot be detected by standard sensory abilities, onto the bodies of others.[1] These spores can be used to remotely monitor an individual and, once activated, grow into clones of White Zetsu. The clones are then able to wrap their bodies around the individual they were planted on, either to restrict their movements or to shield them from harm.[2] They are also able to absorb chakra from others and transfer said chakra to another individual by establishing physical contact with them.[3]

The spores can be activated via time-delay or otherwise forced into activation if the individual they reside on takes in a sudden surge of senjutsu chakra.[4] Although the spores are usually undetectable, Orochimaru and Kabuto Yakushi are able to notice their presence due to extensive research on Hashirama Senju's DNA.[4]

Trivia Edit

  • In the anime, the clones grown through this technique at the Kage Summit were depicted as being entirely white in colour.[5]
