This technique enables the user's spirit to leave their body and take possession of a target within a certain range, allowing the user to freely manipulate the victim's body in accordance to their will. According to Dan Katō, this technique has been used to kill a great number of shinobi.[1] The only known way to counteract the technique is to trap the user within a barrier, such as the Four Violet Flames Battle Encampment, before it's activation.[2]
With the release of the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation technique, the revived Dan was capable of controlling his own spirit for a short period of time using this technique, allowing it to cross vast distances and still be able to manipulate a person's body.[3]
