Having left [[Konohagakure]], Shinga was a [[Missing-nin|traitor]] to Konoha. He once worked as a scientist under the command of the Third [[Hokage]], [[Hiruzen Sarutobi]]. With the help of his two subordinates, he found a new technique of untold power, the [[Jibakugan]]. Only Shinga knew how to control this technique and he gained a lust for power. He created the demon, Shinki, which drains chakra from the land. The Third Hokage heard of Shinga's new discovery and felt that the technique was morally wrong to use on others. He banned the technique, making it a forbidden technique . The Third then dispatched [[Itachi Uchiha]] to arrest Shinga, but he was able to escape for they could not find his body in a mudslide. Years later, when Shinga sees [[Sasuke Uchiha]]'s eyes, he believes that he is Itachi.

Only Shinga knew how to control this technique, causing him to gain a lust for power. He created the demon, Shinki, which could drain chakra from the land.
