Homatsu is one of the swords of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, wielded by Jinpachi Munashi. It combines the use of explosive tags to incorporate explosions into swordsmanship. The sword contains a rolled up scroll filled with numerous exploding tags inside. The sword has two sides: a narrow blade on one side, and a wide platform on the other. The scroll filled with exploding tags unrolls at the platform side, with the scroll sliding down the surface of the platform. Segments of the scroll come apart, there being one segment on the platform at any time. Once the opponent gets close enough to the platform, the exploding tags light and the segment of the scroll on the platform gets separated and the user moves away from the original point of detonation, so only the opponents get caught in the explosion. The explosion seems quite powerful considering that even the user had to avoid the impact of the explosion. The sword seems to be able to "reload" another segment of tags onto the platform.
