This technique was first created when Naruto's Wind Release: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken collided in mid-air with Sasuke's arrow made of black flames, as both were thrown towards the Ten-Tails simultaneously. Unlike Naruto's technique, this technique doesn't appear to produce an explosion. Because the wind to flame ratio is perfectly balanced, that instead of being extinguished, the flames are greatly enhanced causing whatever struck by this technique to be enveloped in a swirling mass of Amaterasu's inextinguishable black flames. With his Sharingan, Sasuke can match the ratio of his Kagutsuchi to Naruto's technique no matter how big or small the two composite techniques are.

This technique combines Naruto Uzumaki's Wind Release: Rasenshuriken and its variants with Sasuke Uchiha's Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi along with its variants to create a swirling mass of wind-enhanced Amaterasu flames.

Usage

This technique combines the flame and wind techniques of Naruto and Sasuke. it was first performed by chance when Naruto's Wind Release: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken collided in mid-air with Sasuke's arrow of black flames, as both were thrown towards the Ten-Tails simultaneously. Unlike one of its composite techniques, this technique doesn't appear to produce an explosion. Because the wind to flame ratio is perfectly balanced, that instead of being extinguished, the flames are greatly enhanced causing whatever struck by this technique to be enveloped in a swirling mass of Amaterasu's inextinguishable black flames. Tobirama Senju noted that he's never seen such a Kagutsuchi before, and that this technique had the same chakra ratio from both its parent techniques, which he noted was something tough to achieve, even for an experienced duo.[1] With his Sharingan, Sasuke can synchronize to Naruto's chakra, making it easier to get the correct chakra ratio for the technique, no matter how big or small the two composite techniques are.

Trivia

 • This technique was named by Minato Namikaze, however he quickly admitted that the name didn't sound very good.[1]
 • The fact that this technique is referred to as "Scorch Release" is not due to the fact that it is a kekkei genkai, but presumably because the basic elements fire and wind make up the actual advanced nature transformation of Scorch Release.
