Firstly deconstructing the sand from his gourd, Gaara's body also changes into sand. In this form, Gaara is invulnerable to damage and can travel over long distances as a rushing sandstorm, as well as maintain control over sand. It can also be applied in battle, transforming parts of the body to increase manoeuvrability on the battlefield.
