This article is about the technique. For chapter 659, see Rinbo: Hengoku…!!.

Using the power of the Rinnegan, the user projects an invisible version of themselves into the unseeable world known as Rinbo (輪墓, Wheel Grave). A Rinbo is generally impossible to sense or visually perceive without the Rinnegan, however Kurama's ability to sense negative emotions can detect it as well. Although typically invulnerable to most physical attacks, techniques which make use of Six Path or Sage chakra can cause harm to a Rinbo.

The downside to this technique is that the user's Rinbo, after a set period of time, automatically returns to its user's body and it is left temporarily unusable. Any damage which the Rinbo had sustained would be projected onto the physical user after it returns to them. Madara's Rinbo was strong enough to repel all nine tailed beasts in a single instance.
