Rōshi (老紫) is the Jinchūriki of the Four-Tailed Beast. He was captured by Kisame Hoshigaki of Akatsuki and later died as the result of having the Four-Tails extracted from his body.
Background
Rōshi, hailing from Iwagakure in the Land of Earth, was imbued with the Four-Tails at a young age. At some point in his life he went on a journey to understand and control the excessive power of the Four-Tailed Beast residing within him.
Part II
Hunt for Uchiha arc
During his journey, he encountered Kisame and battled him. Even though Rōshi used the Four-Tails' power, he was defeated. Later, Akatsuki extracted and sealed the Four-Tails, which led to Rōshi's death.
Abilities
By borrowing the Four-Tails' power, Rōshi was able to use its Lava Release ninjutsu, a combination of Fire and Earth-based chakra.
