Pure Betrayal and a Fleeting Plea (清き裏切り はかなき願い, Kiyoki Uragiri Hakanaki Negai) is episode 138 of the original Naruto anime.

Synopsis Edit

When Sasame drugs Naruto, Sakura and Jiraiya, she prepares to let them be given to Orochimaru in order for her to be led to Arashi. But, when she discovers that they were planning to be killed, she begs the ones about to do so to stop. Naruto reveals that he and the others faked being put to sleep, and attack. Kagerō attacks Naruto and Jiraiya with a powerful technique that shortens her life, then escapes with Jigumo and Kamikiri. When Jigumo and Kamikiri discover that they were being used by Orochimaru, they attack him, but are apparently killed by the latter.

Trivia Edit

  • When Naruto uses the Rasengan at the beginning of the episode, he calls it by both the rōmaji and the literal English. This is likely a dubbing error as this is the only episode where this occurs.
