*Interestingly, if Peregrine Falcon is translated into Japanese, it becomes Hayabusa (which you can see from the sidebar on the right). There is a video game series known as Ninja Gaiden, whose protagonist is named Ryu Hayabusa, who also appears in the Dead or Alive series. His signature move is very similar to this one and is called the Izuna Drop (see sidebar at the right). But Ryu is not the only video game character to use the Izuna Drop, it has been used by many other video game characters, such as Vega of Street Fighter fame.
