"Pain vs. Kakashi" (ペインvsカカシ, Pein tai Kakashi) is episode 159 of the Naruto: Shippūden anime.

Pain vs. Kakashi (ペインvsカカシ, Pein tai Kakashi) is episode 159 of the Naruto: Shippūden anime Sasuke engages the Deva Path who is joined by the Asura Path. The Deva draws Kakashi in with its special jutsu with the Asura having a giant blade ready to impale him, but that Kakashi is revealed it was a lightning clone. Chōza and Chōji along with reinforcements arrive but they are soon overpowered, and everybody except SasukeChōza, and Chōji are wiped out by Deva, using Shinra Tensei, which serves as an invisible, but very powerful repel attack using Deva as an epicenter. Kakashi tries to trap the Deva Path and finish him off but is blocked by the wounded Asura Path. Again they are overpowered and Sasuke is trapped, seemingly killed by Pain, Chōji tries to escape but a lone missile is locked on to him. Sasuke uses Kamui to get rid of it to save Chōji, but with Sasuke chakra depleted, the technique drained his very life force. Passing out and dying he reflects on how he could not protect those close to him, along the way he meets with his father Fugaku Uchiha who asks him about his life. Katsuyu reveals to Tsunade that Sasuke has died. A frustrated Tsunade receives Gai message about Pain.
