Madara uses his Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique to move around the battle field and pop up in front of his target before striking them. Unlike its parent technique, however, this jutsu is used to quickly attack multiple opponents in succession. In the anime, Tobi came up with this jutsu on the spot while fighting the Eight Man Squad from Konoha. This quickly blocked the squad's escape route while in pursuit of Sasuke Uchiha.
